Tanner's intentions

Tanner stood upon a ladder and leaned down to Winter to grab a steamer from her hand. "Like this?" He asked and held it up a little higher.
"Yeah perfect" she smiled and leaned over again "thanks for helping by the way I don't think we could have finished without you!"
"Anytime for real."
"When are you going to tell me how you know me though?" She playfully laughed. He held his hands out to the side.
"Obviously elementary school, I can't believe you don't remember me." He pouted and straightened his white T shirt out and tucked it into his jeans.
"I'm hurt Winny" She bit at her lip and turned away from him.
"No one really calls me that except my close family."
"we were close" he wanted to say but clenched his hand at his side.
"What else is there to do?" He made himself busy but kept her in his perpherial gaze.
Again and again he had to make this woman fall for him and dip to the darker side of life. To win the pendleum balance that had never been won and to break himself free of this curse. To protect the same human over and over again. He had tried giving up and letting Aion win, but chaos had found the girl and killed her. The curse was very specific and they had yet to meet its criteria.
I don't know if I can handle her falling in love with me.
"Tanner? Are you listening?" Winter frowned and waved her hand in front of his face.
"We're going to get coffee, you coming?" The girl nearest to him laughed. He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment and grabbed his things. "Coming!"
A large crowd in the hallway pushed Winter back from opening the door and Tanner caught her shoulder to steady her.
"Woah, what the heck!" Winter peered over the crowd.
"Oh my god you've got to be kidding me."
