"ZACH!" Shock was an understatement for me right now, but still, I manage to utter his name from my mouth. He walked forward, the ladies in the bakery were gawking at him, but his eyes were focused on me, keeping me captive.
"Hi," I stare at him not, believing my eyes, I lift my hand and poke his chest, "I'm as real as the love I have for you, Cupcake." He whisper, bending slightly near my ear. My face heats up, and I quickly pulled my hand back. He chuckles at my action, and I slide out from the counter and stand in front of him.
"What? How? I mean, Explain?" I place my hands on my hip, tapping my foot, waiting for his explanation.
"I missed you. Actually, we missed you so badly. It was awful without you," he said, scratching the back of his head, with a flushed face.
"Where is Chase?" I asked, looking around, he is not with Zach.
"He is in the car outside, I wanted to make sure you will not get mad by my sudden visit."
"I am not mad, but shocked, never expected you to here, and I missed you both so, much," I pulled him for a hug, not giving a shit about the public, take it, girls. He is all mine.
"Come on. He must be getting anxious," I nodded my head and holding Zach's hand, we came out of the bakery. There was a black Bugatti parked in the driveway. A lot of heads were, turned to admire the beauty in front of them. The driver opens the back door and help Chase to come out of it.
"Chasey, I miss you," I said, holding my arms out. He looked up and a bright smile formed on his face, he rushed my way and hugged my legs. I hold his figure and kneel to balance our height.
"God, you look so big already," I laugh at my own words feeling all silly.
"I missed you, Anna. Now we can celebrate Thanksgiving together," he said, jumping around.
"Yes, we can," I said, getting back on my feet. "Thanks for coming. I wanted to invite you but thought it would be too soon, and I didn't want to make things awkward between us," I said to Zach, rubbing my palms.
Taking my hands near his lips, placing butterfly kisses, keeping it warm, he said, "I understand, those thoughts were bothering me too, but staying away from you even for a day, made it horrible. Can't help it," he said laughing. God, I love his laugh.
"Anna!!" a familiar voice called my name, I turned to face my best friend, Mia, her hands full of shopping bags. "It's really you," she said, running my way.
I ran to her as well, and we meet halfway. "Mia, I missed you so much, was going to give you a call," I said, hugging her.
"Sure," she said, rolling her eyes. "And who were you talking to," she said, looking through my shoulders. As if recognizing the person, her eyes went wide as saucer. "holy cow, he is Zach Knight, but What is he doing here?" She asked. I haven't told her about my feelings for him, and now, I am regretting it. I have to tell her one way or the other.
"Ah..umm...Mia, I have to tell you something important, but right now, I'm kind of in the middle of something. I will call you later, and we could catch up," I plead with an apologetic smile. She shakes her head but agreed anyway.
"You better, young lady, or else, I'm going to kick your little ass," she said, giving me a scary look.
"That won't be necessary, I promise," I kissed her cheeks, and we said our goodbyes. She walked away, stepping inside her car, and left.
I turned to Zach, who was carrying Chase in his arms. "Your friend?" he asked.
"Best friend. Okay, tell me, when did you arrive, and How did you know I was in the bakery?" I asked, still confused with the situation.
He gave me his signature smirk, saying, "We just landed half an hour ago, had your address but wanted to call you first, I was waiting near your house, but when I saw you walking towards your bakery, I followed you, simple."
"Then, why didn't you come inside sooner," I asked, taking Chase form him. He nuzzles his head on the crook of my neck, he must be sleepy waking up so early.
"Well, you seem busy, and I didn't want to intrude. Is he asleep?" Zach asked, pointing to Chase.
"Probably. He had an early morning," I replied, stocking his hair.
"Then, I should head to the hotel, The Royals. Will you come with us?"
"I would love to, but right now, I'm busy with the bakery," he nodded his head in understanding. "You guys head first, get some sleep, and I'll stop by later in the evening, we can spend some time and maybe have dinner," I suggested.
"That sounds good to me, Now. Can I have something sweet?"
"Of course! I will go pack some pastries for you."
"Who said I want pastries," he slowly pulled me towards him, careful not to wake Chase, who was soundly sleeping in my arms. "I want this," he said and placed his lips on mine. Holding my head, tilting it to go deeper. His soft lips left like cotton candy, sucking on my lower lip, he earned a moan from me, realizing the surrounding and Chase being in my arms, I pushed Zach gently breaking the kiss.
"I think we should stop," I whispered, trying to catch my breath.
"Yeah, Yes," he agreed, quite unsure. I chuckled and gave Chase back to him.
"I should probably go now, see you later," I kiss Chase's head and give a peck on Zach's lips.
"Later," he said and got in the car. They took off, and I returned to the bakery.
After two hours, mom came carrying bags full of baking stuff, "You have done some shopping," I tease, helping her out.
"Oh, don't start, young lady," she fires back. We put those in the kitchen, and I gave some water to mom, "How did it go at the bakery?"
"Well, it went quite well, but it's exhausting. Hat's off to you, mom," I gave her a salute, and she laughed.
"Mom, I have to tell you something about umm.." I trailed off.
"Your client, who you like," she stated.
"Mom!!" I shout, embarrassed.
"What! It's the truth, but what about him? did you confess to him? did he fired you?" she starts with all her assumptions.
Not beating around the bush, I confront. "YES, and NO, I mean, he didn't fire me, but we confessed our feelings for each other, which was mutual, he loves me too," I said, with red chicks.
"Oh my god, my daughter is in love," she yelled, coming in front of me.
"Mom! keep it low," I whisper yelled.
"I'm so happy for you, baby," she said, hugging me. "You sure he is the one?" she asked.
"I am. I don't know what fate holds for us, but I am sure I want a future with him," I said with confidence.
"I'm sure you will have it."
"There is something more, Zach. he is here in Boston," I state.
"He is here, why?"
"He got here in the morning, he said he missed me," I said, with a silly smile lingered on my face.
"Oh my, look at you, all blushing. You have been here just for a day, and he is already missing you, Wow. Somebody is head over heels for you."
"Mom, stop teasing. He and Chase are at The Royals. I am going to meet them in the evening and was hoping to invite them to the Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow," I asked, seeking her permission.
"Of course, you can invite them. We would like to meet him and Chase, but when are you going to tell your dad about them?"
"I was hoping to tell him tonight. He would be okay with it, right?" I questioned.
"Sweety, your dad, is very possessive when it comes to his daughters, but I'm sure he will like Zach after he got to know him," she assured me, giving me an encouraging smile.
Later we got busy at the bakery. It was 4 p.m. when I called it a day and left for home to fresh and up. Dad and Ava were busy with some decorations in the hall so, without disturbing them, I headed upstairs inside my room. I picked a brown leather skirt and cream color top, placing it on the bed, I head to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I changed. With light makeup, and putting on brown knee-length boots, and wearing the cream color long coat, I left my room carrying my handbag.
"Looking gorgeous, going somewhere?" Dad asked, he was watching some news on the TV.
"Thanks, Dad, yes. Don't wait for me for dinner. I'll be back around 9." I answered.
"Okay, have fun, be careful."
"I am a big girl, dad. Don't worry." I shake my head and left the house.
I got inside Dad's car and headed to The Royals. It was thirty minutes drive from home, I pulled my car into the driveway and, step out of it.
The inside of the hotel is the epitome of beauty, one of the most expensive hotels in Boston. Heading to the reception, I asked for Zach. "Excuse me, I here to meet Mr. Zach Knight. Could you tell me, Which room has he been staying in?" I asked the guy standing behind the counter, he must be in his mid-twenties.
"Sure, What your good name, ma'am?" he asked politely.
"Anna Brown," he picked the phone and called someone, maybe Zach.
"Sir, a lady named Anna Brown is here for you, Shall I..." he get interrupted, "sure, sir," he put down the phone before talking to me.
"He is waiting for you," he called a bell boy to escort me, "take Miss Brown to the presidential suite," he instructed him. "good day, ma'am."
I gave him a short smile and headed to the elevator.
After the short ride, the door opened, in front of me was a huge door, the nameplate which spells presidential suite in gold, looked rich. Walking ahead, I knock on the door, and within seconds, the door got open.
"Hi," I said.
"Hey," he gave some tip to the boy, and he left from there. "Come in."
The suite was beautiful, two gorgeous chandeliers hung above the living room, and the dining area, comfortable, sofa and couches, and even a piano was across the hall. A 45-inch television, beautiful painting on the cream color wall, making it more royal. Overall, it was a complete beauty.
"This place is WOW, peaks of being rich," I tease him. He hugged me from behind and took a deep breath. "What are you doing?"
"Feeling you," he said, turning me to face him. " God! I miss you," he slammed his lips on mine, taking me off guard. I was quick enough to respond, giving it all to the kiss. I ran my fingers on his thick brown hair, which earned me a groan from him, biting my lower lip, he went down, kissing my neck.
"Daddy!" Chase's voice made us broke our little fantasy moment.
"His timing is the best," Zach groaned, making me laugh.
"Anna!! you are back, come let's play," he holds my hand, tugging me towards him. I turned to face Zach, who has made an annoying face.
"Jealous?" I asked, pointing at Chase. Zach just rolled his eyes at my question, which made me laugh again.
"I'll order the dinner, what do you want?" he asked.
"Surprise me, Mr. Knight," I said with a smirk.
"With pleasure, Miss Brown," he said and gave me a wink.
