And not only his head was in pain, but also his back, bones, and muscles were also sore making him sit up from his office sofa almost slithering.
Not a very good idea to sleep on the damn sofa.
"Shit..." he mumbles sitting and taking a few moments to clear up his head.
He checks the time showing 7 am while flashes of last night are coming back into his mind and he rubs his palms on the face to push the sleep away as it's still lingering in his eyes, running his finger through his black, thick hair.
He remembers Kathleen tucked nicely in his bed and standing up, he's rushing his steps to his bedroom to check on her.
It's for the best he has decided to sleep somewhere else than his bed last night.
Having her there, between his sheets, spreading the sweet flowery perfume of her skin has been doing little to help him stay away and not have his way with her till morning.
And yeah, he had to be the bigger one and not let the things slide on a path he would regret later, or she would regret, for that matter.
She has been too intoxicated last night and that is not the way he wants to have her.
He wants her sober, aware, and fully accepting him by her own will. He wants her to remember each and every ounce of his touches, of his kisses, each thrust, and each pull.
He wants her to know to whom she belongs to once he'll be her first man and most importantly, he wants her well awake to remember her safe word in case she needs it.
Because he's sure she'll need it judging only by the imagination of things he would do to her tiny, beautiful body as soon as she'll be in his arms.
Reaching his bedroom, Chase opens carefully the door just to find an empty room, an empty bed, and none of her clothes around.
"Fuck," he mumbles running one hand through his hair and walking deeper into the room where he can still smell her perfume.
He only hopes she doesn't regret the things he has done last night.
Because for him the way her body has felt in his arms is one of the most sensual feelings he has ever had.
The beautiful sight of her blue eyes glaring at him, her lips parted fanning air in a sweet breath and her thin long finger curled in his hair was something to kill for.
He loved molding her flesh in his hands and the way she became a moaning mess, submissive and sensual, making him feel powerful and dominant.
For years he hasn't felt this way.
He was staring into her eyes and wondering if she had any idea how much she stirred him up when she fucking thanked him last night.
Lord, he's young, still a virgin so probably she has never known what a dominant is like but the crazy thing is that she has submitted so perfectly last night, so much fitted to him that it has driven him crazy.
But thankfully he has been strong enough to leave the room and sleep on the sofa of his office, instead of sleeping next to her and showing her what it means to him her submissive response.
She almost seemed unreal and he would have believed his mind was playing him games if he wasn't sober enough to know it had been real.
There are years since he has thought about his dominant part last time. He has almost managed to hide it by pretending so well to be normal with Paula, well, at least her normal.
But that makes him feel weak and small which he also has hidden so well for years now that Paula never ever has suspected anything.
Apparently, he's very good at hiding feelings when it comes to himself but with Kathleen, it's exactly the opposite. He feels free with her, he can be himself, he feels powerful and in control, and that completes him so perfectly. But she has been too drunk last night and maybe she has had no idea what she has been doing.
"Too many 'maybes'," he speaks for himself.
He sits on the edge of the bed and smiles, rubbing the back of his neck and remembering her vibrating in his arms.
She's a whole new excitement in his boring life and he loves it.
But something must be off since she has sneaked out like that early in the morning. It looks like she doesn't want to see him and it worries him.
Didn't she like it? But that's hard to believe considering the way she has responded to him right from the beginning. Or maybe she regrets, such deep regrets that she has preferred to disappear before she takes a chance of facing him.
He has to know, he has to find out. He has to meet her and know how she feels about the whole thing.
Or maybe he should just give her some time even though all he feels right now is to stand up and run to find her. This space starts to feel already cold and empty without her in here.
Even if he left and slept alone in his office last night there was a good feeling around the house with her in his bedroom.
He felt as if someone very dear to him has returned home after a long time and that home felt complete, warm, and comfy.
Fuck, he has never felt this confused in his life. It's very clear he wants her, he craves for her but at the same time he doesn't want to scare her away... but he needs her.
The train of his thoughts is being interrupted by the ring of his phone, buzzing in the pocket of his black PJs and he pulls it out sliding the green button.
"Hey, man," he says.
"Chase, where are you?" Bennet asks when the line is on.
"You need to meet me at the office. There's a slight issue with the contract from Seoul. We need to talk, Chase," his brother says rather concerned but still, having little effect on Chase's mood.
"Sure, I'll meet you in the office in about an hour," Chase replies and stands up, walking towards the bathroom not before hanging up and dropping his phone on the bed.
The shower hardly has done anything to sober him up or brighten his day.
And the fact that she has left his place without a word, literally sneaking out of his penthouse makes Chase even more adamant to find her, to have her, to possess her.
The constant thought of concern that she might have gotten scared of him last night doesn't leave his mind the entire morning, and on the way to the office hardly he can concentrate on the driving.
If it wasn't for the traffic light just before his office building, he would have easily missed the parking entrance, driving to God knows where.
Chase arrives at the office almost at the same time as his brother and they meet in the lobby just before the private elevator opens its doors.
"Shit, you look..." Chase is just about to say when setting his eyes on his brother.
"Like shit! I know," Bennet completes. "And I feel like shit as well."
"Where have you been last night? You don't seem to have had too much of a sleep," Chase asks while they get in the elevator.
There is a tension floating all around Bennet and that doesn't sit well with Chase who instantly switches from the concern for his intense evening with Kath to the concern for his brother.
He knows something is up, he also knows Bennet has a hard time saying it which means it's big and he really hopes it's not about the new contract.
"What is Bennet? What the fuck happened?" Chase asks between clenched teeth unable to refrain himself once they enter his office.
"We have issues in Seoul," Bennet says with a sight.
"Issues like what?" his brother asks sitting at his desk in his huge leather office chair while Bennet fills two glasses of whisky and hands one to his brother.
"The office building of the Korean beneficiary has been set on fire last night, explosion or something. Police say it looks like an act of revenge but the strangest thing is that the offices mostly burnt to ashes are the ones of our partner only. And his brother died in the fire."
"The project manager?" Chase asks raising an eyebrow. "Damn!"
Chase takes a sip of whiskey staring at Bennet while listening and he knows there is more.
"And... the daughter of the beneficiary has been kidnaped a few days ago. They're asking that the contract we have signed with them be terminated and that we leave the business. Seems the Koreans get the best out of them when it comes to their "national" businesses."
"What the fuck?!" Chase hisses.
This is one of the best contracts he has had in the past years.
He has worked for it two shitty years and he won't back off now. Besides, this is just the beginning of his businesses and South Korea.
"I'm not giving up the fucking contract, Bennet. Two years I've been dancing with the motherfucker Koreans," he speaks in a lower tone than Bennet has ever heard.
"Chase, don't take it lightly. This is the Korean mafia we're talking about. Maybe you have NY in your pocket but it's not the same in Seoul," Bennet tries to reason, knowing his brother all too well.
"The fuck it is! Call Jack. We're going to Seoul."
"Chase, get fucking real! We're dealing with someone we don't know!" Bennet rasps.
"Do you know how much it has cost me to get this deal, Bennet? Years of kissing Korean asses and millions flying on the window!" Chase roars, feeling the veins at his temples throbbing and jaws clenching painfully.
He's not going to give up until he's sure it's all lost, that's for sure!
It's not the first time when he has to deal with bad boys and shootings and he has never been the man someone can play around with and doesn't get burnt.
His only wish is to have the chance to see Kathleen before he leaves but how to find her?
He can't ask Nate, for fuck's sake, she's his son's college friend. How is he going to explain that he's interested in a girl that can easily be his daughter? And that, to his son.
"Fuck!" he hisses to himself. "This shit has come in a totally wrong time."
His plan since morning is to start looking for her. He wants to meet her and set things right. He wants to take her out and pamper her and worship her and make her his and probably travel with her to places before the Seoul contracts kick-off.
Now it all has to wait and that really puts him in a constant fit of anger.
It has never happened to him before to put a woman before business, not even the thought to a woman, but her...
He doesn't want to leave. His mind can't fit anything else but her, though this Seoul thing is blowing up his plans and has to be solved, one way or another.
"She's not going anywhere, Chase. She'll still be here when we come back," Bennet suddenly says making Chase raise his surprised eyes towards him and stare for a few moments.
Fuck, is it that obvious?
He prefers not to reply, just shakes his head with a small smile at the memory of her tiny frame sleeping on his bed.
"Is it that obvious?" Chase asks in a low voice.
"Not for many, but I know you."
He sighs deeply and runs one hand through his hair standing up and pacing through the room.
"She's young," he says. "Way too young, Bennet."
"So? You're not too shady either."
"It's not that, brother. I don't want her for one nightstand. I could have had her last night... fuck her brain till tomorrow but... I didn't want to start on the wrong foot," Chase explains.
"She's just a woman... like all others," Bennet says, intentionally challenging his brother.
"She's a virgin, Bennet. And I finger fucked her last night!" Chase continues in a heavy tone. "And she fucking thanked me," he remembers out loud with a sigh, rubbing his hands on his face.
"No shit! Are you serious?" Bennet chuckles surprised but boy, does he love the tormenting mood his brother has!
This is a new Chase, one that seems... human, one that lets feelings flush over him, and as if that is not enough, all those feelings show so intensely in his eyes.
"Do you think she's a little submissive foxy?"
"If she is, she doesn't know yet. And I don't care if she is or not. I want her either way. But that moment when she said 'thank you'... that moment stirred everything in me. I haven't had a submis ..."
"Chase, don't go there. Last time it didn't end well and I surely am not going to go through that hell again to pull you out."
"I want her Bennet. You can't imagine what I'm willing to do for her."
"Oh, I can imagine, brother. Your face last night in the club spoke volumes and I didn't see you like that maybe since... ever. Maybe she's the one, finally. But you can't go to that submissive thing with her, Chase. You can't control it, brother. This is why you never had a long-term sub. This is why they all leave..."
"The weak ones leave, Bennet," Chase growls in a low voice, and his face changes, looking like a small angry child losing his toy.
Bennet keeps his eyes fixed on his brother, trying to find out if there is a way to make him give up this fixed idea he seems to have on Kathleen.
He loves his brother more than anybody. He wants to see him happy but the demons that nest inside of him are not easy to tame, if possible.
But at the same time, it's rare to see on his brother that happy face when has landed his eyes on her last night. It has been a damn sight to enjoy.
Bennet keeps silent for a few moments, looking at the back of Chase as he's glaring far into the depth of the scenery out on the window, and he stands up, walking closer and stopping next to him, both glaring outside, standing tall next to each other with their hands shoved in the pocket of their pants.
"You really like her, don't you?" Bennet asks.
"I fucking love being around her, Bennet. I feel like I've known her forever, as she has always been a part of me."
"Well, then do it, brother," Bennet concludes with a deep breath. "I will be there for you."
Chase turns his eyes to him and smiles, happiness spreading all over his face.
"Thanks, brother. Now get the flight ready. We travel today," Chase decides and fishes his phone out from his pocket, dialing Nate's number.
"Nate, how are you?" he speaks when his son answers in a sleepy voice.
"Sleeping. It's Saturday, Dad. What is it?"
"Listen... I need Kathleen's number. Can you get it for me?"
Nate pauses for a moment, most probably buffered by his father's request.
"Nate... are you still there?"
"Yeah, Dad... what... Dad, you left with her last night. Don't tell me..."
"I did. And I'm not discussing that with you," Chase rasps becoming defensive and pissed.
"Dad, what the hell? She's my age!" Nate shouts now sounding fully awake and angry on top of that.
"Nate, fuck it! I've said I'm not discussing that with you. I want her number!" Chase shouts back at his son but suddenly he stops, realizing he might have gone too far since his son has frozen into the phone.
Nate sighs loudly, understanding his father won't give up till he gets what he wants.
"I'll text it to you. Bye, Dad," he finally says and hangs up.
A few moments later the phone buzzes and Chase sees the text message from his son.
He stares at it for a few moments, taking his time to think if he should call her now or give her some more time. He wants to. Hell, he wants to go right to her door and take her with him but at the same time, he worries. He doesn't want to force because he doesn't want to lose before even starting.
So he turns off the screen of his phone, slips it in his pocket, and locks Kathleen in a chamber of his brain, sealed to keep her only for himself.
He has to deal with the Korean situation first and prepare for his travel. He needs to get ready for his men for this, things might get shitty and he needs back up.
Bennet is on the phone in his turn, calling the jet team and Jack. They need as many men as possible and Jack is the right person.
Chase picks the landline calling his PA.
"Marie, get Kim-Ho on the phone for me," he orders.
"Right away, Mr. Rowllings," she replies and a few moments later she comes back with the call.
"Mr. Kim-Ho for you sir," she informs and connects the call.
"Kim, how are you, my friend?" Chase says in a deep manly voice to shatter even the strongest.
"Well, given the situation I'm happy I'm still breathing," Kim replies.
"Listen, I'm coming to you tomorrow. I'll be prepared and I'm going to bring your daughter home. It's a promise," Chase continues.
"Chase, I don't even know if my daughter is still alive. They wouldn't let me talk to her. All they want is the damn contract ended. And I still have three days to get back to them with the evidence."
"We'll talk about it tomorrow, Kim. Leave it to me," Chase replies and hangs up.
"All ready, Chase. We take off at 4 pm." Bennet intervenes, sitting on one of the armchairs in front of the desk.
"Perfect. Listen, I have something to do until then. I'll meet you at the airport," Chase says snapping on his feet and walking out of the office under the surprised look of his brother.
Passing by Marie's desk he gives her the last instructions.
"Marie, rent me a villa in Seoul for a week starting tomorrow night. No need for you to come this time. I'll need you here and be close to your personal phone at all times."
"Sure, Mr. Rowllings," she replies.
He walks into the elevator and takes his phone out from the pocket dialing Kathleen's number. The phone rings long but there's no answer.
"Shit," he mumbles and keeps on calling while walking out of the building and getting in his car where the valet is waiting for him with the driver's door open.
On the third call, there is an answer and a woman's voice can be heard in a whisper.
