Captain Obvious

"W-what?" I stuttered.

"Yep," she shrugged again like this was old news.

"Why are you so calm about this?" I questioned, raising my voice and standing up to start pacing.

She laughed, "Liz, calm down. I'm calm about this because I knew he liked you before he told me!" She exclaimed.

"How...what am I supposed to do?"

" you like him?" she asked.

"Oh, my God! Liz admit it! I know you like him! If you can't even tell me that you like him, then how're you going to tell him?" Kat proposed.

"First of all, how do you know I like him? Secondly, what do you mean tell him? I'm not planning to."

"I know because it's obvious! You have to tell him! Why wouldn't you?"

"What if he doesn't feel like that? What if things don't work out? What if he ends up hating me? What if-"

"Elizabeth Steed, if you don't shut the hell up with your 'what ifs' right now...I don't know what I'll do." she sighed, "He likes you! He's liked you for a while...if you don't tell him at this party tonight, I'll tell him myself tomorrow." she stated.

I huffed, "Fine, I'll tell him. But if this screws over, I'll screw you over." I threatened.

"Okay, fine." she laughed.

About an hour later, we're at Brandon's party. It was so loud, you could hear the bass from the driveway. We made it to the living room and I'm immediately handed a red cup. When I looked up I saw it was Cole. I looked down at the cup, suddenly interested in the red liquid in there. I only drink wine at parties. I didn’t like to drink the super heavy liquor others prefered. I don't have to get shit-faced to have a good time.

"I'm glad you made it," Cole shouted over the music.

"I'm glad I came," I responded, before downing almost all of my wine. If I was going to tell him tonight, then I was going to need the extra courage. I open my mouth to say something when I get pulled into the other direction by Gianna, a girl from school.

"Try this," she slurred, handing me a shot glass of God knows what, "It tastes way sweeter than that Vodka stuff." I took it because I know she wouldn't stop bugging me until I did.

Two hours later, I've had as much alcohol as my dad has in four hours. My head was starting to buzz. I tried to find my way to the door. Once I'm one foot out the door, someone grabbed my wrist, startling me.

"Liz, wait," Cole shouts and follows me out.

For a little bit, we walked in silence to the garden furthest from the house and the music. I almost tripped on thin air but Cole caught me in time. He then rested his muscular arm on my shoulder to keep me upright. We soon found a bench and took a seat.

"I think you've had a little too much fun," he said.

"I could think of more ways to have more fun." I slurred. Oh, God. Did I really say that?

He chuckled, "Liz you're wasted, let me take you home."

"I-" I felt a vibration coming from my purse.

I left with Alex. Catch a ride home with Cole. ;) -Kat

Ok, is all I texted back.

"Liz, Kat left an hour ago, so you have no ride." He stated the obvious.

"Thanks, Captain Underpants, I mean Captain Obvious." I giggled.

Suddenly, his strong arms scooped under my neck and legs and picked me up, bridal style. I started giggling and only stopped when we reached his car and he slid me into the passenger seat. He walks around to his side of the car, takes a seat, and starts the car. At some point, I fell asleep during the ride to my house. I felt someone pick me up bridal style and carry me up steps. I opened my eyes to see sparkling blue ones staring back at me. We reached my room and he sat me down on my bed. He sits down with me and sighs.

"Do you-"

I cut him off by pressing my lips to his. It took him a moment to react but when he did, his mouth moved expertly against mine. I opened my mouth to encourage him to deepen the kiss, and he did. This felt so good, it felt so right. Like this was how it should be all the time. Too soon, he pulled away.

"Liz," he whispered.

"Shh," I brought my finger to his lips. Then I blackout.
