Chapter 15-Another battle to fight-
By the time the movie was over, both me and Rayna were totally worn out. Have to admit though, that time did fly really quick. Every time I would hang out with her, I would always lose track of time. I never minded though. I definitely could spend all day with this amazing person.
It was late though and we decided to call it a night. To be honest, I didn't really wanna leave yet, but I knew I had to. That was, until she asked me if I wanted to sleepover in her room.
It took me a little bit by surprise, but at the same time, I was happy that she suggested it. I would literally do anything in order to spend time with her.
"Are you sure you don't mind if I sleep in here? I don't want to disturb you, or anything." I told her.
"Yes of course. Trust me, if I had a problem with you staying the night here, I wouldn't have invited you in the first place. So yes, you're fine." she smiled at me.
I could never get enough of her smiles.
"Okay then. Shall we head to bed then?" I asked her with a smile.
"You sure you want to sleep in the same bed with me? I might kick you accidentally." she blushed. She was cute.
"Nah, you're fine. Don't worry about it". I reassured her.
"Okay. Can we please go to bed now because I'm totally worn out?" she whined.
I couldn't help the smile forming on my mouth.
"Of course. You had a long day, so go ahead. I'll just go to bathroom." I told her making my way to her bathroom.
A couples minutes later, I was finished and returned to the bedroom. When I entered her room, I found her on the bed curled up in the warmth of her covers. Her eyes were closed, so I assumed she was sleeping.
I climbed in the bed, softly bringing the covers over myself, being careful not to wake her up. It didn't work though. I could feel that she was wide awake.
"Ray, are you awake? I whispered in her ear. The cold, chilly air had brought us closer than I had thought.
"Yeah, you?" she asked me her back facing me.
"Same. This night is extremely chilly tonight." I spoke softly. I swear at some point, I felt her shifting beside me.
"Well, even so, I think I will actually go to sleep because my eyelids are getting heavy. Do you mind?" she asked me with a yawn.
She was cute when tired. Correction. She was cute at all times.
"Sleep tight Ray. I'll see you in the morning." I said softly as I draped one arm around her shoulders.
It didn't take long until we both fell asleep.
THE NEXT DAY
The next morning came by very quick. The sun was making it's way in front of my eyes, but I didn't want to wake up yet. I was still exhausted from last night, and also I was fully cuddling Rayna, so I didn't want to let go of her yet.
A couple minutes later, I felt Rayna leaving my embrace and heading to the bathroom. Again, I didn't get up. I wanted to stay in here forever. But, I knew I had to at some point, so while she was having a shower, I got up and checked my social media.
About twenty minutes later, I heard Rayna exiting the bathroom, but I didn't look up to see her in case she was changing. Since I was on my phone, I had no clue as to what she was doing, but after about five minutes, I realized that she was staring at me.
I could feel those piercing and beautiful ice blue eyes on me, looking me up and down. I then, finally looked up at her to find her staring at me intently, clear of any notice that I had caught her.
She was wearing a red bathing robe and her hair was wrapped up in a towel. She looked stunning. I know she had just gotten out of the shower, but still, she looked as pretty as ever. Her face was devoid of any make up and it was glowing.
I will never get tired of saying that she is breathtaking. After all, it's true.
"You really have a staring problem, don't you?" I asked her in a teasing tone. Nothing better to start my day with her with a morning tease, ain't it? Teasing her is my favorite thing to pass my time with. Seeing her all flushed and blushing brings me joy.
She blushed at my question, and I couldn't help the chuckle escaping my lips. She looked so flushed, it was the cutest thing ever.
"Uh, what? No, of course not. You j-just took me a little bit by surprise, that's all." she said nervously. Sadly for her, I knew exactly when she was lying, and now, was one of those times. I decided not push it further. I had made her enough uncomfortable as it was, there was no need for more.
"Are you sure Rayna?" I asked her again smirking.
I was looking her directly in the eyes now, my silver eyes piercing her soul. I could tell that she was somewhat attracted to me, and all jokes aside, I was too. How could I not be? She was everything I could ever ask for.
"Rayna, I'm just teasing you relax." I said chuckling at her now flushed face.
"Yeah, yeah. Anyway, the bathroom is free if you wanna go in now." she said putting up her leader front, but she failed miserably. It was obvious that I had some kind of an effect on her.
"Thanks. I think I'll grab a shower." I said with a smile and disappeared into her bathroom.
I took my time with my showering, mostly because the situation back there was quite tense and I wanted to give Rayna some time to compose herself. Truth be told, I don't usually do something like this, especially not with a girl, but Rayna, she makes me lose all control and morals. I can't control myself when I'm around her.
When I was finally done, I returned to her bedroom, fully dressed and I saw her dressed up as well, sitting on her bed waiting for me.
"Hey Ryer, I was thinking maybe we could go together to have breakfast, if that's okay with you and if you don't have anything better to do." she asked with a smile. She looked so pretty.
"Nice idea. Why not? I'm hungry anyways and you're the best company anyone can ask for." I returned her the smile.
"After you milady." I told her gesturing towards the door. She let out a small laugh and headed towards the door. With me following suit.
A while later, we reached the dining hall and started looking for a table. It wasn't packed with people yet, but, there weren't many seats left either. It was 10:30 am, which meant that most of the families had already woken up, ready to start their day.
Rayna found her favorite table available, and practically dragged me over there. I didn't resist her because I knew how much she liked it, and also, there was no point in fighting with her.
"I'll go get us the food, and you can wait here." I told her as we reached the table.
"Wait, how do you know what I like?" she asked me with narrowed eyes.
"You're right, I don't. You just gonna have to like what I bring." I sent her a wink and walked away.
"You better not poison me Hamilton, or I swear I will become your worst nightmare." she yelled from behind, as I was getting food. Such a drama queen, but that's what I like about her.
"You know, I would never dare to do that darling." I replied with a wink.
"I'll believe you for now. Now, go get my food please." she whined. Too cute for her own good, I'll tell you.
I picked up some waffles, frozen yoghurt and some berries. I knew Rayna was crazy about them, and I would hate to disappoint her. I also picked out my own breakfast and proceeded to return to our table.
As I reached Rayna, I noticed a guy sitting with her and they seemed to have a tensed conversation. Getting close enough, I realized that the boy was no other that Taylor Lockwood's son, Jake. I met him when I payed a visit to Jason during his shift, and let me tell you, he definitely did not make a good impression on me.
He was staring at me the whole time, while I was talking to Jason, giving me the stink eye. I never figured what his issue with me is. He hardly even knows me. Not that I really care to be honest. Not when I have Rayna.
"Jake, what the hell do you want?" Rayna asked really pissed.
"Come on Rayna. I just want to talk." Jake spoke in a serious tone.
I had no idea as to what this was about, but I knew, that if Rayna was this pissed, it must be something very bad. Plus, I really don't trust this Jake.
"Talk? You want to talk? Are you kidding me, or are you really that stupid? Don't you remember what I said last time? That. I. Want. You. Out. Of. My. Life. Why is it so fucking hard to understand?" Rayna's voice was now raised, causing everyone to look at us. I had never seen her so upset before. To be totally honest, I was worried.
"Yes Rayna, talk. About us." Jake spoke now, his voice reaching Rayna's tone.
"Us? Oh please, don't make me laugh. There is no us anymore, remember? You were the one who cheated on me with Millie, fucking Sullivan. So yeah, don't ever dare say that again." she replied, rage flashing in her blue orbs.
For a minute I was dumbfounded. What did he mean by us? Were they dating in the past? And I wonder why Rayna never told me anything. No wonder she was so vulnerable. The past was hurting her unconditionally.
If I ever said that I disliked Jake, I take it back. I fucking hate him. How dare he do something like that to Rayna? Especially all the shit she has been through. I can't believe she went through even more pain, than she told me. My Rayna. How dare he?
"Rayna, just listen to me would you? I still have feelings for you. And I regret doing what I did with Millie. You're the one for me. You know that." he said with an apologetic expression on his face.
Is this dude for real? I might not know the whole story, but, does he really think that Rayna will buy all that crap? If he really thinks so, then he is in for another treat.
There was a small moment of silence, before Rayna's laugh erupted throughout the whole dining hall. It wasn't a pleasant one. It was one that screamed sarcasm and hatred.
"Wow. You really are bipolar, aren't you? Coming here, claiming to still love me after the stunt you pulled? And here I was, thinking that you couldn't get any lower than this. You keep surprising me." she remarked with a death stare. I swear if looks could kill, he would be dead by now.
"Rayna please. I've told you I'm sorry, it was a mistake you know that." he replied.
"Do I know that? Do I really? Seriously Jake, just take the fucking hint and leave me alone. For good." she replied angrily.
It honestly scared me seeing her like this, but at the same time, I didn't want to say something and make matters worse.
"I can't leave you alone Rayna. We were each other's first everything, and because of one mistake, you jump into that jerk's arms? I guess I don't know you at all then." he barked, aiming his finger at me.
That was final straw for both me and Rayna. I honestly had enough of his bullshit. I didn't care that he catcalled me, but I did care that he had the nerve to blame it on her.
"Listen here Lockwood, and make sure you listen carefully. First, never and I mean never disrespect Ryer again, because I promise you, that I will put a bullet between your eyes. Second, yes, we were each other's firsts and yes, it was great, but don't forget that you were the foe in the relationship, not me. You were the one who betrayed me, ripped my heart out and teared it to small pieces. So don't you dare say it was my fault. When you're the only person to blame. I swear Lockwood, this will be your last fucking warning. Stay the hell away from me and Ryer, or I will keep my promise and I will do my bidding. Don't make me show you what a leader does, when someone disrespects her." she claimed in a dead and deep voice.
I could see small tears starting to form in her eyes, and I hated it. All I wanted, was to hold her forever.
After that, she stormed out of the dining hall, with her tears now streaming down like a river. I gave Jake a death stare and followed her out the hall.
"Rayna wait!" I called out to her, but she ignored me and continued her way. I called her again but she continued to run away.
When I finally reached her, I caught her wrist to stop her from moving any further. "Ryer, let go!" she hissed trying to pull away, but I only held her tighter.
"Rayna don't run, talk to me. I'm trying to help you. Let me help you." I spoke softly trying to calm her down.
"I don't want your help Ryer. Now, let go!" she insisted, pulling away, but I caught her hips, bringing her close to me, embracing her in a big hug. She instantly calmed down, as I started stroking her hair, ever so smoothly.
"Hey, shh it's okay Rayna. I got you. Don't cry darling, I'm here." I whispered in her ear. She relaxed after a while, but I didn't let her go. I wanted to make sure that she was alright.
"Thank you Ryer. And I'm sorry for yelling at you. Jake got me really pissed." she exclaimed clinging to me tighter than before.
"Don't mention it love. You have nothing to be sorry for. Jake is a real asshole and he had it coming. Is there anything else I can do for you?" I asked still holding her.
"Yeah, actually there is something I need you to do for me. Can you please take me to River? I need my brother right now." she inquired with a small smile.
"Anything for you Ray. Shall we go?" I asked.
"Can you hold me for a little longer? I feel better when I'm with you." she claimed with a blush.
"I'll hold you for as long you want to Ray. Even if that is forever." I smiled at her giving her a small kiss on her head.
She smiled at me and hugged me tighter. I returned the gesture, wrapping my arms around her frame, bringing her closer than ever.
I will have a long talk with Jake. No one hurts Rayna. And no one will as long as I'm alive.
