Chapter 18-Girls night?-

Ryer

After parting ways with Rayna, I decided to pay a visit to the guys. I owed them an explanation for my disappearance the night we were supposed to meet, and I was sure they would be pissed at me.

I wouldn't blame them though. Especially Jason. Knowing him, he would have my head for disappearing. He might be annoying me at times, but we are very close.

But that, wasn't the main thing on my mind at the moment. Frankly, I was thinking about Rayna and the incident that took place. She was so vulnerable and hurt, it killed me to see her like this.

Surely, I cared about her a lot, but lately I started wondering, what if my instinct to protect her, indicated something more? Like, a crush let's say.

There was no denying, that Rayna Hill was one of the prettiest women I had ever laid my eyes on before. But then again, if this suspected crush of mine is real, I need to be careful. I know her past and that she didn't have an easy life, so that's why I will be keeping that hidden for now. Also, I don't even know if she sees me that way.

Part of me hopes she does.

I would treat and care for her the way she deserves. Show her how much she is worth and love her my own way.

Soon enough, I realized that my monologue, had brought me to Jason's room. I softly knocked once and the door opened, revealing an angry Jason with his arms crossed across his chest.

"Nice of you to remember us." he retorted in a cold voice.

I really hated when he was mad at me.

"I'm sorry Jason, I was busy with lots of stuff." I gave him an apologetic smile.

"So busy, that you couldn't even let us know via text?" he inquired.

"I know there is no excuse for that, but I'm truly sorry. Rayna was having a hard time these past few days, and she needed me." I explained.

His hard expression seemed to soften at the mention of Rayna.

"It's okay, I understand. But still, you could've let me know." he spoke giving me a smile. "Is Rayna alright now?" he asked.

"Yeah, everything's fine now. You seem to care about her a lot." I stated curiously.

"Well yeah, I mean she is our leader and I really like her as a person. She seems like a really nice girl. Plus, she's very hot too." he smirked.

And the Jason I knew, was back in matter of seconds.

Although, I can't explain the pint of jealousy I felt at his comment. So instead, I smacked him in the back of the head.

"Don't talk about your leader like that you asshole." I told him sternly.

I just earned a chuckle in return. "Is someone crushing on Ray? Don't worry bro, she's all yours." he claimed playfully.

Damn him. He could read me like an open book. I really need to stop being so obvious. It never ends well let me tell you.

"Shut up jackass. I really don't have time for your bullshit right now." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"I'll stop, only if you admit that you have a crush on her." he remarked.

"You really don't have limits do you?" I barked back. He wasn't gonna let this go anytime soon.

"I really don't. Which is exactly why you should tell me." he continued and I sighed.

"Tell you what?" I heard Damon from behind me asking curiously.

"Seems like our brother here, has a crush on our leader." Jason spoke, earning a death glare from me.

I swear he never knows when to shut up, or just stop in general.

"No shit! Rayna?" Damon asked surprised.

"No, River. Who else?" Jason rolled his eyes.

"Shut it Donovan. That's not what I meant." Damon rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, yes Rayna." Jason continued.

I was just sitting there listening, not being able to utter a single word.

"Since when?" Damon asked.

"Guys for real! Drop it! First, I'm not even sure what I am feeling towards her and second I don't even know her side. What she's thinking. So can you please not?" I said attempting to change the topic.

"Ryer slow down. There is nothing wrong with having a crush on her. She's an attractive young lady, so I don't blame you." Damon justified.

"That's what I told him. But he won't listen." Jason chimed in.

"Also, if I were you I would stop worrying. I've seen the way she looks at you and it's anything but friendly." Damon continued.

"You guys really think so?" I asked cautiously. To be honest, I always felt some kind of chemistry between us whenever we were together. It was undeniable.

"We know so." they both shot me a wink.

"Anyway, that's not why I came here. I was talking with River earlier, and he asked me if we wanted to join him at one of his clubs. I think Lux was the name. So we going?" Damon asked.

A club sounded like a good idea. I could really use a drink.

"Hell yeah! Lux has so many hot chicks." Jason exclaimed happily. I rolled my eyes.

"Is there one moment where your mind is not in the gutter?" Damon laughed.

"Nah, negative." he claimed proudly.

We all then laughed at him.

"Ryer, what about you? You in?" Damon turned to me.

"Yeah sure. I could use the drinks." I replied.

"Cool. River is waiting for us downstairs." he said.

"Great, I'll just grab my jacket and we can head out." I called out.

Grabbing my jacket, we left the room heading downstairs.

River was waiting for us when we went downstairs, we greeted him and jumped in his car to leave.

About twenty minutes later, we arrived at Lux and I was left totally dumbstruck. The place was massive and packed with people. Getting further inside, I noticed the huge dancefloor and the colorful tiles, accompanied by loud music and bodies bouncing all around.

I also noticed the bar at the end of the room, with it's own bright lightning and music playing in the background.

As majestic this part was, the VIP lounges were even better. Very spacious and comfortable in their own way. If you didn't guess it yet, that's where me and the guys were.

River explained that since he and Rayna were the owners of Lux, they both had their own lounges in the club and only their close friends, family and themselves were allowed.

"Guys, I'll get us some drinks. What do you want?" River asked.

"A Sex on the Beach for me please." Jason smirked.

I swear that boy was horny 24/7.

"Of course you do. What about you guys?" River rolled his eyes and turned to me and Damon.

"I'll have a vodka thanks." Damon smiled. He then turned to me.

"You Ryer?" he asked.

"I'll have whiskey. Neat." I replied. He nodded at me and headed towards the private section bar.

While he was away, Damon and Jason began to chatter about random things, which I wasn't really keen on joining. I was just looking around and admiring the club, until I saw them. Those piercing ice blue eyes, staring at me intently.

It was her. Rayna Hill. In all her glory. And she was as stunning as ever. Her green dress was showing off her amazing curves and apparently a snake tattoo on her thigh, that I didn't even know existed.

She was the living definition of hell on earth.

And that's when I knew. Just by standing on the other side of the lounge with her friends, I knew for sure that I had a huge crush on her. Or more like, I really like her. In that way.

I felt like a creep for staring at her for so long, but I couldn't help it. She was stunning. No denying that.

"What do you think Ryer?" Jason asked me suddenly, causing me to jump slightly.

"Sorry, what?" I asked and I could feel myself blushing.

"I just asked your opinion on those girls over there." he replied pointing at Rayna's direction. Only then I noticed, that she had averted her gaze from me and had turned back to her friends.

"Aren't they hot as hell?" he asked with a smirk.

"Seriously man? Do you ever think about anything else except sex?" I inquired disapprovingly.

"Chill out bro, I just asked a question." he defended himself.

"Yeah fine, whatever I guess they are." I replied finally.

Matter of fact was that Rayna was indeed hot tonight. All of them were, but Rayna had caught my attention amongst them. I couldn't admit that in front of the guys now, could I?

"Bro, you serious? These are hottest girls I've seen so far tonight." Jason continued and Damon nodded along.

"Wait, you guys I recognize those girls." Damon claimed. I was officially fucked now. "It's Rayna and her friend group." Damon continued smiling.

I felt myself blush even harder and I immediately tried to look anywhere but her direction. Of course my blush didn't go unnoticed.

"Is that why you're acting weird? Because you saw your crush?" Jason smirked playfully.

"Jason seriously, can you shut up? Can we just drop this?" I asked irritated.

"Drop what?" I heard River asking from beside me.

Great. Just perfect.

"Nothing important. Just Jason being stupid as usual." I remarked causing Damon and River to laugh, while Jason shot me a glare. I was beyond thankful that he came in the right time, otherwise, I would have died of the awkwardness.

Rayna

About twenty minutes later, we finally arrived at Lux making our way inside, and into the VIP lounges. I greeted some people on our way, mostly clients of course. I couldn't really risk starting small talks with them, in case someone would recognize me.

That's why, outside of the gang I was known as the Red Dahlia. It was my mother's name of the criminal world, the one that she was known in the crime community. Both her and my father, never used their real names whenever they took care of business.

I guess you can say that it came in handy with enemies.

So, that's why everyone here tonight I interacted with, referred to me with my gang name. I can't lie and say that I didn't enjoy it. It made me feel more powerful. Which, is some way I was.

After greeting a handful of clients and acquaintances, the girls and I reached my VIP lounge, which was right next to River's. They sat down, while I headed to our private bar to order our drinks. Champagne was our classic.

When I got back, they had already started chatting about god knows what. I handed them their drinks and proceeded to just look around. Their conversing didn't really interest me.

As I was taking in my surroundings for what felt like the millionth time, I suddenly felt a pair of eyes staring at me from the opposite lounge. Aka River's. Curious, as to who was staring at me from his lounge, especially since the entrance was limited, I whirl around, only to be met with a familiar, yet mesmerizing pair of silver eyes, looking at me intensely.

The one and only, Ryer Hamilton. The guy I was craving to avoid, looking sinfully good, with his black jeans, black t-shirt and red leather jacket. I had no doubt that he smelled just as good as he looked.

It was like all my morals and self control, had vanished into thin air when I caught sight of him. He was effortlessly good looking and I internally cursed at him for looking like that, and also at myself for gawking at him like a stalker.

There was something different in his eyes this time. Instead, of holding that teasing and confident demeanor, they looked worried and maybe, flushed?

I wasn't used to him looking at me like that, so instead, I turned to the girls. Although a part of me, wanted to keep the eye contact.

"Ray, what are you looking at?" Quinn asked from beside me, snapping me out of my daze.

"What? Oh, nothing just looking around that's all." I said trying to hide my slightly crimson face. I really thanked the dim lightning of the club for that.

"Really? And why are you blushing?" Jen looked at me amusedly. Damn them and their ability to notice everything.

"Oh my! Is that Hamilton?" Alexa prodded.

"I guess your question is answered now Jen. She's blushing because of Ryer." Quinn added.

"Guys please." I pleaded. "Besides, this is not my fault. I was supposed to have a girls night with you girls, and then I see Ryer and apparently my brother too." I said rolling my eyes.

"We're sorry Rayna. If we knew, we definitely wouldn't have come. We know how much you want that break." Jen gave me an apologetic smile.

"No, it's fine girls. It's not your fault. How could you have known either way? I'm just pissed at River, because he didn't even say anything about going out." I continued.

Suddenly, I noticed the girl's expressions change and they were now focused on something behind me.

"Uh, Rayna don't freak out, but they're coming this way." Alexa spoke quietly, pointing behind me.

Turning around, I noticed River and the guys heading towards us, and I swallowed hard. Talking about perfect timing. I'm so screwed.

I tried to hide my anxiousness and my blush, replacing them with my confidence instead.

"Hey guys! I didn't know you would be here. Nor did River mention anything." I spoke while narrowing my eyes at my brother.

"Hey girls!" Damon smiled. "Sorry for that, but he decided it last minute, we didn't know either." he gave us an apologetic smile.

"It's okay Damon, don't worry. I was just playing around." I said with a wink. "But next time River, please be more organized. I can't keep up with the heart attacks you keep giving me." I smirked and the guys laughed.

All except Ryer. He just flashed a smile, which faltered almost immediately after the laughing fit was over. What was wrong with him? He never acted this way before.

"Sorry sis, but you know how much I love surprises. And in my defense, I didn't know you were here either. I just brought the guys over for drinks." he smirked.

"Oh, that I know. But you're forgiven, because we both stunned each other." I gave him a smile.

"So, do you mind if we join you ladies?" Jason jumped in excitedly. That boy was so freaking horny. It was so goddamn obvious.

"Of course we don't mind. We could use the company." I added, noticing a blushing Alexa.

"Awesome! This our chance to get to know you better as well." Jason winked at Alexa.

I knew it. I had witnessed Alexa checking out Jason many times before, but I wasn't sure then. Now, seeing her face turning crimson, I'm positive she fancies him.

He better not break her heart though, otherwise he will have to deal with the Red Dahlia.

And so, the boys joined us at my lounge and we started chatting away.

So much for a girls night.
