Chapter 24 [Part 1]

The next day, the doctor discharged me and Li took me home.

“So tell me,” I said.

“Ok let’s sit down first,” Li agreed.

We sat close together on the couch.

“Sage we’re mates as in soul mates. We were made to be together. When we’re apart, we feel empty but together we feel complete which is why you felt sad when I left you at the hospital. We can’t be apart, I felt sad for leaving you too but I had to,”

“Does everyone have a soul mate?” I asked curiously.

“No only Vampires and Werewolves do,” Li replied.

“Does that mean?” I asked in disbelief.

“Yes I am a Vampire,” Li confirmed.

“What about me?”

“You’re a Hybrid which is half Vampire and half Werewolf,”

“How did that happen?”

“When we met we both thought you were human but on our wedding day you shifted into a Werewolf for the first time. Then I marked you and you became half Vampire too,”

“Wow,” I said in awe.

“Sage? Can I see your wolf it’s been a while since I saw it?” Li asked.

“Um ok,” I agreed.

I thought about being a Werewolf and before I knew it I was a Werewolf and Li had scooped me up into his arms. Wow! He really adores me doesn’t he? I can tell and I adore him. I can’t believe I forgot him, how could I? He’s my mate and he’s gorgeous.

I’m getting a weird vibe though, like something isn’t right. I feel as if he is hiding something from me.

I shifted back to vampire to ask him. I put my clothes on.

“Sage why’d you change back so soon?” Li questioned.

“I want to ask you something,”

“Then ask me,”

“What are you hiding from me?” I asked with a knowing look.

“What do you mean?”

“I can feel you are hiding something from me, tell me what it is,” I demanded.

“But you’ll leave me if I tell you,”

“I promise I won’t,” I promised.

“Ok I’ll tell you.” Li took a deep breath. “Long story cut short. My parents knew you were my mate but they wouldn’t let me know who you were or let me find you. They said I didn’t deserve you, that I was bad for you. They hated me and knew if I found you, I’d be happy but they didn’t want that. I wanted to be happy, I wanted to find you but they stopped me when I tried to so I .....” Li paused.

“So you what?”

“I killed them,”

“What?”

“I had to, it was the only way I’d get to find you and be happy. They would have never allowed it unless they were dead. I know that killing them was bad but I don’t regret it because I found you, please don’t leave me,” Li begged.

I don’t know what to say, what his parents did was bad but he didn’t need to kill them. This is terrible if he killed his own parents, what if he kills me? There’s no way I can stay with him.

I tried to leave but Li stopped me by putting his arms around me.

“You’re not going anywhere,” I whispered in Sage’s ear.

“Yeah I am, let me go,” Sage tried to get out of my arms but I put my arms around her waist and pulled her to me so our bodies were touching.

“Never, I won’t let you leave me again. You mean too much to me, we belong together because we’re mates and we love each other,”

“But you killed your family,” Sage argued.

“So?” I got closer. Our lips are only an inch apart, close enough to kiss.

“So what if you kill me?”

“I would never kill you, I love you. I could never lay a finger on you because your too special to me to even think about hurting you. I need you alive and with me forever otherwise there is no point for anything,” I said against Sage’s lips.

“But-” Sage tried to argue.

“No buts, you’re not leaving ever again. I won’t let you, you’re mine so don’t get any ideas about escaping,” I said firmly before pressing my lips against hers. Despite being mad at me, Sage kissed me back so it was a good sign. However, it only lasted a few seconds before Sage pulled away which really hurt me. Why did she pull away? She’s never done that before, she loves me. I know she does.

I accidentally let go of Sage and she darted to the door but I was too quick for her and pulled her back to me.

“Stop this, I won’t let you leave, ” I warned but Sage completely ignored me and tried to run again but I never let go. There’s no way I’m letting go so she can leave me, I won’t lose her again.

“Ok Sage you asked for it,”

I picked Sage up in my arms and sat down on the couch with her in my lap. As expected, she started wriggling around to get away from me.

“Sage stop that,”

“Let go of me Li,”

“Not after the stunt you just pulled. I won’t let you go until you forgive me like mates forgive each other and when you stop trying to leave me,”

“That’s never going to happen,” Sage said.

“Then I’ll never let you go. I can stay on this couch with you on my lap for as long as it takes so just forgive me already so we can kiss and make up, please,” I begged.

“No,” Sage refused.

“You know I could always pin you down on our bed and make love to you all day if you prefer,” I joked.

“No,” Sage began to panic thinking I was serious. I would never force myself on her.

"Then forgive me,” I said simply.

“Ok,”

“Ok what?”

“Ok I forgive you, now let me go,” Sage said sweetly.

I let Sage go, she tried to make a run for it but I caught her.

“We can do this all day. Keep on running and I’ll keep on catching you,” I said and that’s exactly what happened. Sage kept running around and I caught her every time.

“This is so much fun, I like catching you especially when your a Werewolf because you’re so cute and little,” I tred to catch a hold of her.

That gave Sage the idea to shift into her wolf form so I couldn’t reach her in small gaps and she shifted. I put a shield around the house as soon as this catch game started to prevent Sage from leaving our house even if she used her abilities. She can’t escape.

Sage must have realised that she wasn’t going to get away because she stopped running for the front door. Instead, she was running around the house in her wolf form.

After half an hour, I’d had enough and grabbed her into my arms.

“That’s enough, I’m taking you to bed,” I said and ran upstairs to our bed.

“Shift,” I demanded but Sage refused and tried wriggling out of my arms, she wasn’t able to but wouldn’t stop moving.

“That’s it, you leave me with no choice. I will erase your memory of me telling you I killed my parents. You won’t remember anything and will never leave me again,” I said and Sage whimpered and shook her head ‘no’

“I’m sorry, I don’t want to do that but I have to because I can’t have you wanting to escape from me all the time. I love you,” I said before using my vampire abilities to erase her memory.

When it was done, Sage stopped struggling and snuggled into my chest without any memory of what I had just done.
