Chapter 2 [Part 1]
I can’t believe what I’ve just just done, I kidnapped my mate, how could I do that? But I had to.
I appeared inside my house. I put Sage down on the couch and sat next to her. Wow! I felt sparks everywhere our skin touched, she’s definitely my soul mate. Sage moved right to the edge of the couch, away from me. She was clearly scared, I don’t want her to be scared of me, how will she love me? She looked around the room, we were in the living room. My house is really modern looking, the living room consists of laminate flooring, a leather couch, plasma screen tv and a matching coffee table. It’s not a lot, the room looks empty but that’s how I like it, less is more in my opinion.
“Why did you bring me here without asking and how did we get here so fast? What are you? There’s no way you can be human,” Sage asked really fast and looking absolutely horrified.
“It’s ok, don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you. I’m sorry I brought you here without asking but I had to, I love you and I’m a vampire,” I explained.
“What?” Sage squeaked out looking surprised and even more frightened.
“I love you,” I repeated what was important.
“No,” Sage shook her head in disbelief and alarmed eyes.
“Yes,” I insisted.
“No you’re a vampire. You can’t love me, you’ll only kill me,” Sage argued.
“Yes I’m a vampire but don’t worry I’m never gonna kill you. I love you so much, you’re my mate,” I promised.
“What’s a mate?” Sage asked.
“Mate is short for soul mate. A soul mate is someone who’s made just for you to spend your whole life with,”
“How do you know I’m your mate?” Sage asked.
“I know because I’ve never felt like this about anyone before. From the moment I first saw you, nothing mattered to me but you and that’s how it will always be,” I explained.
“There was no need for you to kidnap me Li?” Sage said after processing what I just said.
“I didn’t have a choice, I love you. I’ve missed you so much since the café, I don’t want to be apart from you again not knowing when I’ll see you again,” I said honestly.
“So you kidnapped me?” Sage asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah,” I confirmed. I feel bad for what I did but I was left with no choice after finding my soul mate.
“That’s no excuse,” Sage told me.
“I know and I’m sorry but I can’t be apart from you, it’s killing me. Please stay with me,” I pleaded.
“But-” Sage started to say.
“Please, I have to be with you always,” I cut in.
“But-” Sage tried to speak again.
“Please just stay here with me for a few weeks so we can get to know each other and then if you don’t like me, I’ll let you go,” I was down on my knees by then by Sage’s feet.
“Ok,” Sage agreed with a sigh and I thanked her.
Over the next few hours, we got to know each other more. I found out that Sage’s favourite colour was purple and she likes music and reading. She had to leave her home at 14 years old because her parents died in an accidental kitchen fire while she was at school. Thankfully she didn’t become homeless as a relative took her in until she was old enough and now lives with a friend. Sage told me all about growing up but she didn’t mention her family, I don’t really want to know because it upsets her. She lost her parents which must have been tough and is something I can relate to with my own family dying. However, their deaths were no accident.
Then I asked Sage something that was too soon but I couldn’t help asking unexpectedly
“What?” Sage’s eyes widened.
“You heard me,” I said.
“But-” Sage began to argue.
“Stop saying but, I love you and I know you love me too. Please just say yes so we can be together properly by getting married first, please say yes,” I cut in.
“But why so soon?” Sage asked.
“Because I won’t be happy unless I know you’re mine forever, it’s a Vampire thing,” I told my mate.
“Ok,” Sage finally agreed after a moment of silence.
“What?” I asked to make sure I had the answer I wanted.
“Ok,” Sage repeated her word.
“Really?” I asked in disbelief. I can’t believe Sage has accepted my proposal.
“Yeah,” Sage said.
“Is that a yes you’ll marry me?” I asked happily.
“Yes,” Sage smiled.
“Oh baby, you don’t know what this means. I promise I’ll take good care of you, I’ll love you and I’ll make you so happy,”
Then it hit her.
“But you’re a vampire,” Sage said quietly.
“So?” I said without seeing the problem with being a Vampire.
“What if you eat me?” Sage said with a terrified look and I chuckled.
“That’s not happening, Once we’re married I’ll turn you into a Vampire,” I assured my mate.
“Will it hurt?” Sage asked as she must have been thinking of pain.
“A little but don’t worry, I’ll be as gentle as possible,” I assured her. “I promise.
“How will you do it?” Sage asked curiously.
“I have to bite you,”
“Don’t worry. I won’t do it until your ready, ok?”
“Ok,” Sage said, it feels really hot in here all of a sudden.
“Is it just me or is it hot in here?” I asked myself. “It really is, I’m gonna take my shirt off,”
I took off the jacket I was wearing and then my shirt. Sage took in my bare upper body, her eyes wouldn’t move away from me.
“Like what you see?” I brought Sage out of her trance.
“I’ve seen better,” Sage smirked and this made me angry.
“What do you mean you’ve seen better, who was it? Was it your boyfriend? Tell me who he is so I can kill him or is there more than one?” I asked and was pacing back and forth in front of Sage by then
“What do you mean? I’ve never had a boyfriend,” Sage asked in confusion.
“You’ve never had a boyfriend, then why did you say you’d seen better?” I demanded.
“I lied,” Sage smirked again.
“Oh,” I sighed in relief and my anger calmed down into a silence.
“Can I leave now?” Sage asked suddenly.
“Why do you want to leave? We’re getting married, you should live here now,” I asked and felt the hurt from Sage’s words.
“But-” Sage tried to speak.
“Please,” I pleaded, Sage hesitated before replying.
“Ok I’ll stay but can I go to get some of my stuff?” Sage gave me a hopeful look.
“Yes,” I agreed without thinking about it. She’s agrees to move in with me and has every right to get her belongings over.
“Thank you,” Sage said and got up off the couch to leave.
“Sage,” I said as something dawned on me.
“What?” Sage replied.
“You are coming back aren’t you? You didn’t just agree to marry me just to get away from me did you?” I asked as the feeling of uncertainty hit me.
“No,” Sage said.
“Ok then go but remember, if you don’t come back........... I’ll come and get you,”
