Chapter 14 [Part 2]

The next day, Li had to take his car to the garage because there was a problem.

“How long will you be?” I asked.

“I don’t know but I’ll be back soon, I promise,” Li assured me with a kiss.

He tried to leave but I stopped him by putting my arms around him and pulling him closer so our bodies were pressed together.

“Sage I really like the position we’re in right now and would love to stay this way but I have to go,” Li said as he put his arms around my waist and tried to get away but didn’t succeed because I wouldn’t let go of him.

“I don’t want you to go,” I whined.

“I know, I don’t want to leave you for a second either but I have to go, my car’s in pretty bad shape,” Li told me.

“Can’t you go another day?” I asked with a hopeful look.

“No, I should to go now to get it over with,”

“Ok,” I agreed even though I didn’t want Li to leave. I was scared that if he did then I would lose him. The Blood Witch said Jaime was my true mate not Li meaning I’ll lose Li once he finds his true mate. I don’t want to lose him, I love him.

I let Li go reluctantly, he gave me a quick kiss and then left.

I walked up the stairs and made my way to my room but then I bumped into a wall. I looked up but it wasn’t a wall, it was Jaime.

“Jamie I thought you were at the pack house?” I was surprised to see him.

“I was but there wasn’t much to do so I came back, where’s Li?” Jaime asked.

“He’s gone out,”

“When will he be back?”

“I don’t know,”

“Ok so we can talk,” Jaime said and gestured me to follow him to his room. I wonder what he wants to talk about, he should know what my decision is going to be but I can’t just leave Li. We’re married and I love him. I followed Jaime anyway and we sat down on his bed.

“So you didn’t answer my question yesterday,” Jaime began to say.

“What question?” I asked.

“The question about accepting me as your mate,”

“Oh that question,”

Silence.

“Well?” Jaime broke the silence.

“Well what?” I asked.

“What’s your answer?”

“My answer is yes, I accept you,” I said

I have no choice but to accept Jaime, he is my true mate but we can’t be together until Li finds his true mate. Even then it will be difficult because I love him like he is my mate and I know he feels exactly the same about me.

I was about to tell Jaime that but he had picked me up into his lap for a hug.

“Jaime what are you doing?” I asked in surprise and got off his lap to stand up in front of him.

“You said you accept me,” Jaime looked confused and hurt that I moved out of his lap.

“I do accept you but we can’t be together, yet,”

“Why not?” Jaime asked and looked even more hurt.

“Because Li really loves me and if we were together it would kill him, we can’t tell him,”

“Then when will we be together?”

“When Li finds his true mate,”

“But that could be years from now,” Jaime whined.

“I know,” I agreed.

“I hope he finds her soon so we can be together,” Jaime hoped.

“I hope so too,” I sat back on the bed next to Jaime.

“So what do we do now?” Jaime asked.

“Nothing, just carry on as usual,” I paused. “Maybe you could live in the pack house until we can be together,”

“But that could be for a long time,” Jamie whined again.

“I know but I’ll come see you,” I promised.

“You’ll come see me?” Jaime looked surprised and happy.

“Yes when I can,” I confirmed.

“Ok I’ll do that, I’ll stay at the pack house until we can be together,” Jamie smiled and we both stood up.

“Can I have a hug before I leave?” Jaime looks hopeful.

“Ok,” I said and we hugged. It was a very nice hug and Jaime didn’t seem to want to let go but eventually he did.

“Come visit me soon and say goodbye to Li for me,” Jaime said.

“I will,” I promised.

“Goodbye for now my love,” Jaime whispered sadly and then he disappeared.

Li’s pov

I drove to the garage and when I arrived there, I parked outside. I got out of the car and went inside the garage.

Len the mechanic I’d had for years was there in his grey overalls working on a car, he had grease on his face.

“Hey Li, how can I help you?” was Len’s greeting when he saw me.

“I’ve got a problem with my car,” I replied.

“What’s wrong with it?” the mechanic asked and rubbed his forehead which spread the grease there.

“The handbrake’s not working, I think it’s broken,”

“Ok bring it inside, I’ll take a look,” Len sighed.

“Ok,” I said and brought my car in before Len took a look.

“You’re right, you need a new handbrake. I’ll order one and call you, your number hasn’t changed has it?” Len asked after he’d examined the car.

“No,”

“Then I’ll call you once it arrives,”

“Ok, I’ll see you later,” I said and left.

I came up to a bakery and decided to get something. I parked outside and went inside. I took a look around and decided on getting some doughnuts, they all looked so good that it was hard to choose. I ended up getting a variety including, jam with sugar coating, chocolate coated with sprinkles, blueberry and caramel delight. They were placed in a box by the server, I picked up the box and paid for them.

As I was walking out of the bakery, I bumped into a girl. I accidentally caught her eye and quickly looked away. I came up to my car and was about to open the door.

“Hey you, wait up,” I hear a female voice say, it was the girl I had just bumped into. She had black medium length hair, black eyes, skinny frame and tall. She seemed to be checking me out, I guess she is pretty but I have no interest in her, I will only want Sage.

“Can I help you?” I asked.

“Yes I think you can,” she said and took my free hand. I immediately moved my hand away from her and she looked hurt.

“What do you think you’re doing,” I asked in outrage. How dare she touch me?

“We’re mates,” she said, what is she talking about?

“No we’re not,” I shook me head in disbelief. “I already have a mate who is waiting for me at home so if you’ll excuse me,”

I tried to open my car door but she blocked me.

“A are you rejecting me?”

“Yes I reject you. Now move out of the way, my mate must be worried,” I said angrily and saw the girl was in tears but I didn’t care, she moved slowly out of the way and I got into my car.

How dare she think I’m her mate. I’m Sage’s mate only, that girl must have been some slut or something trying to get in my pants.

I arrived home, I put the doughnut box on the dining table and then ran into Sages awaiting arms and felt relieved to be in her arms, where I belonged and forgot all about the girl from earlier.

“Li you’re home,” Sage exclaimed and pulled me closer to her.

“Yes I’m home, I missed you so much” I replied happily.

“You were only gone for an hour,”

“That was long enough,” I snuggled my face into Sage’s neck and relaxed completely.

“I missed you too,”

Then I led Sage to the dining table and took a seat with her on my lap. I opened the doughnut box.

“Have one,” I said to Sage and she picked out a jam doughnut while I picked out a chocolate covered one and took a bite.

“So how did it go at the garage?” Sage asked as she took a bite of her doughnut.

“The handbrake’s broken, when the new one arrives I have to go to the garage again to get it fitted,” I shrugged.

“I’m glad. I really like your car, I was worried you’d have to get a new one,” Sage took another bite of her doughnut.

“Can I have a bite of your doughnut?” I asked.

“No it’s mine,” Sage moved her doughnut away from me.

“Please, I’ll let you have a bite of mine,” I pleaded.

“Ok,” Sage agreed and brought the doughnut to my lips and I took a bite. Then I moved my doughnut to Sage’s lips and she took a bite.

“Why does your doughnut taste better than mine?” Sage asked.

“Because mine is covered in chocolate and chocolate can’t be beaten,” I smirked.

“Here you finish mine and I’ll finish yours,”

We swapped our doughnuts and once they were devoured, we washed our sticky hands.

After Sage sat on my lap on the couch and put her arms around my waist.

“Li I have to tell you something,” Sage announced with a serious face.

“Tell me then,” I said as I put my hand on the back of Sage’s waist.

“It’s about Jaime,” Sage said.

“What about Jaime?” I asked worriedly. I hope he is ok.

“He’s gone,”

“What do you mean he’s gone,”

“He’s staying with his pack, they need him. He told me to tell you goodbye,”

“When will he be back?”

“I don’t know,”

Then we just snuggled together. I know something else is going on that Sage isn’t telling me, I can feel it but don’t know what and won’t ask her about it, yet.
