Chapter 5 [Part 1]

When we were inside, Sage ran to the couch and lay on it. I went to the couch and crouched down in front of her looking worried.

“Mate?” I said.

“Hmmmm?” Sage replied with her eyes closed.

“Are you alright?” I asked.

“I’m fine,” Sage told me.

“Have you eaten?”

“Yeah,”

“When?” I asked.

“In the morning,” Sage replied.

“Have you eaten since then?” I asked worriedly.

“No,” Sage replied, That is worrying. She must be starving. To prove she was hungry, Sage’s stomach let out a little rumble. I chuckled and Sage blushed.

“Come, I’ll cook us something,” I led Sage into the kitchen.

“You can cook?” Sage asked in surprise. Why are girls so surprised when they hear a guy can cook? Guys are just as capable as women to cook.

“Yeah,” I confirmed.

“So can I,” Sage told me with a proud smile.

“You can help me then,” I invited my mate to cook with me which she did. Our meal was beef, potatoes, veg, salad, chips and rice.

“Wow! This is a lot of food for just the two of us,” Sage eyed all the food in front of us sceptically.

“I know, I eat a lot. I’m a Vampire,” was my explanation.

“I thought Vampires only drank blood,” Sage admitted.

“We eat human food too,”

I went to the fridge and took out a bottle of blood. I took out two drinking glasses and poured one with the blood from the bottle. I gave the empty glass to Sage. I took a few sips of the blood, Sage saw and scrunched her nose in disgust.

“You won’t be thinking that way when you’re a Vampire,” I said. Sage didn’t say anything but I knew she wasn’t looking forward to drinking blood. She’ll have to when she is a Vampire or she won’t survive.

We went to the dining table in the dinning room and layered the table with the food where I added drinks and snacks too. We both sat down to eat. Sage poured herself an orange juice and took a sip. I began to eat but Sage just sat there and stared at the food.

“Sage?” I asked.

“Sorry I just don’t know where to start,” Sage replied.

“I have an idea,” I said. I got a large spoon full of everything and placed it on Sage’s plate. The plate was now overloaded.

“There’s no way I’ll be able to finish this,” Sage admitted.

“It’s ok. Just eat what you can and save the rest for later or I’ll eat it,”

Sage took a deep breath while gathering food on her fork. She took a bite then couldn’t stop herself from taking another and another.

“You like?” I asked.

“Yeah, you’re a great cook,” Sage replied with her mouth full.

“So are you, you helped,” I said.

Sage didn’t reply, she was enjoying the food too much so I let her finish. I had been right, my Sage was hungry and she finished everything on her plate.

After we we cleaned up. There was quite a bit of food left for tomorrow but we sat back at the table talk.

“So, when do you want to get married?” I asked all of a sudden.

“I don’t know, when do you want to?” Sage replied.

“I was thinking next week,” I said. The sooner, the better.

“Next week? Why so soon?” Sage asked in alarm.

“Because of your blood, I can smell it. I’m going crazy wanting to taste it so the sooner we marry, the sooner I can ma- turn you,” I explained. The first part was false, Sage’s blood hasn’t really affected me. I’ve been too happy to have found her and have her in my life to notice her blood’s scent.

“Is that the only reason?” Sage asked.

“No. I can’t wait to make you mine,” I admitted.

“What do you mean? I already am yours, we’re soul mates aren’t we?” Sage asked in confusion.

“Not yet, we haven’t finished the mating process. In fact, we haven’t even started it,”

“Mating? You mean sex?” Sage understood what I was saying.

“Partly but I have to mark you first,” I said and that confused Sage even further.

“How will you mark me?” Sage asked.

“When I bite you to change you into a Vampire, it will be marking you at the same time,”

“Do I have to mark you?” Sage asked

“Yeah and then we ..............,” I paused “But not until we’re both ready, obviously,”

“And then I’ll be yours?” Sage asked.

“And then you’ll be mine as I’ll be yours,” I confirmed and smiled at the thought. I can’t wait, I haven’t even touched Sage yet except when I kidnapped her. I held her in my arms and boy did that feel good. She hasn’t touched me though, maybe she isn’t ready but she will have to when we are married. I will make sure she does.

I want to touch Sage so bad but I want to do it right. Once we’re married, I definitely will and I hope Sage touches me too. I wonder how good it will feel to be touched by her. Sage’s so little, I want to just pick her up into my lap, put my arms around her and never let go. I bet it’ll feel great, she looks cuddly. Do I look that way to her? Is she attracted to me? I sure hope so.

Of course Sage is otherwise she wouldn’t be marrying me next week, I’m so excited, I wonder what she is thinking right now. I wish I could read her mind but I can’t until we’re fully mated and only if she lets me. I bet she won’t let me, I mean who in their right mind would want to have someone listening to their thoughts? I know I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t mind if Sage knew what I was thinking because she’d know what I want without me having to tell her.

“Li are you ok?” Sage took me away from my thoughts.

“I’m fine just tired,” I replied.

“Me too,” Sage said and yawned cutely.

“I guess we should go to bed,” I stood up and gestured Sage to follow me upstairs and she did.

“Pick a room,” I pointed to three closed doors once we reached the top of the stairs. Sage took a look in all three rooms and chose the one to my left. It was my room but I wasn’t going to tell her that. Sage ran to the bed and sat down as soon as we were in my room.

“Well goodnight little mate,” I bid my mate goodnight.

“Goodnight,” Sage replied.

“See you in the morning,” I lied. Sage was going to see me a lot sooner than that.
