Mated to the Alpha

"We WILL have a good day," I whispered to myself as I sat at my desk the next morning. Yesterday, having to go out to the pack house had really done a number on me. I was surprised when Jackson had been so kind.

He was a bit out of character yesterday.. Raya said as she heard me thinking about Jackson.

"Maybe that is his character. Jim said he was the best Alpha they've had in a long time. Maybe it’s just because I'm a rogue." I could feel Raya shrug. I knew she hated being a rogue. Wolves are meant to have a pack and she had put too much stock on finding a mate that would let us into a pack. Although I wasn't as sure that he would reject me now, I also wasn't sure he would keep me.

"Good morning, Miss Lovett."

"Good morning, Mr. Thorpe," I smiled as he walked past and into his office.

Miss Lovett,

I have conference calls all morning. Please make sure I'm not disturbed.

I nodded to myself and continued with my work. I knew conference calls were the worst and I wanted to give a small thank you for being so understanding about yesterday so I made a hot pot of coffee and put it in a thermal pot so it would stay warm for him. I took it and a cup and walked into his office slowly. He looked up at me as I walked in, still in the middle of a call. I gave a small smile before setting the pot down on the coffee table and pouring a cup. I took it to his desk and set it down gently before walking out of the office and back to my desk.

I know how long back to back conference calls can be. Hope the coffee helps, let me know if you need anything else and I'll bring it to you.

S. Lovett

My message went unanswered like I expected it would. A few hours later he emerged from his office as I was standing to go to lunch. I was excited to be starting back up with my Wednesday lunch dates with Paul.

"Thank you for the coffee, it definitely helped." He eyed me as I stood up, "Headed out to lunch?"

"Kind of. I have a lunch date," I said with a smile and a smirk.

Jackson's whole face changed to a scowl, "Enjoy your lunch." With that he sulked back into his office.

It would have been kind of me to mention it was with the sixty year old Paul but that wouldn't have been as fun. I took the elevator down to the lobby and Paul and I sat on a bench just outside the building.

"How's my girl doing?" He asked as I picked at my lunch.

"I'm alright. It's been a stressful couple of days but I think it's looking up."

"That's good," he smiled, squeezing my hand.

"How is the security room?" I questioned.

"Eh. Pretty much watching TV all day, who can complain right? It's amazing what people do when they think nobody is watching."

Sasha laughed, "Okay so how many nose pickers and makeout sessions have you caught?"

"Too many..." He shook his head with a laugh. "Is that boss of ours treating you well miss PA?"

"He's a bit difficult at times but I think he's warming up to me," I said with a shrug.

"He'd have to be a fool not to."

I made my way back up from lunch to find Jackson standing at my desk.

"Mr. Thorpe, can I help you?"

"You're five minutes late from lunch," he growled.

I rolled my eyes, "I'm sorry, sir. It won't happen again."

"Must have had too much fun on your date."

"I did," I replied, sass dripping from my words. I was going to be nice and tell him about Paul, but not now. Now I was going to just let him stew.

He stomped back to his office and I knew I hadn't heard the last of it. Sure enough five minutes later I heard the ding.

Miss Lovett, my office.

I fully regret my decision teasing him.

"Yes, Mr. Thorpe?" I asked as I entered.

"Do you enjoy teasing your boss?"

"I'm not sure what you mean sir." I smacked myself internally. Stop it Sasha! Why couldn't I turn off the sass?

I looked up to see his eyes burning, "Your hot date with Paul?"

"I would have used 'enjoyable' to describe it personally." Now I was going too far. He was going to snap me in half.

Jackson stood and rounded his desk, bounding towards me. I backed up, only for my back to meet the door. "You are my mate, you do not date other men."

It was my turn to have fury in my eyes, "No I'm not, because if we were mates you would take care of me and love me not push me around like some mangey pup."

He stepped back surprised at my response before leaning forward again. "You will not see him again."

"Oh yes I will! I'll see him next Wednesday and the Wednesday after that and the Wednesday after that for how ever long I like!" I glared at him. It had gone from a game to him becoming almost possessive.

"Sasha." He let out a deep breath before speaking again, "I can't have you with other men. I'll go crazy."

It was my turn to be shocked. I couldn't find the words to reply to him.
