Part II

It was mid-afternoon and the two girls walked into a Starbucks on forty-third and seventh near Times Square, they had been shopping for hours and were now exhausted and energy depleted. Lucy sat on a soft armchair next to the window and let the bags she was carrying fall on the floor while her friend stayed at the counter to place their orders. A few minutes later Harriet came back with two chai tea lattes and a huge blueberry muffin to share.

“I can’t believe I’ve once again only bought stuff for myself...” Said Lucy tired, looking at the numerous bags on the floor.

“Well that little red number is not just for yourself,” replied Harriet taking a bite of the muffin.

Lucy sighed.

“I really need to learn some new tricks quickly if all I’m giving him for Christmas is sex.”

Harriet laughed then became serious again.

“We never really had the time to talk about how it ended with Sam after you kicked his ass like a pro.”

Lucy shrugged.

“Nothing much to say, thankfully! My father sent someone from the agency on the twenty-first to make sure the house had been vacated and they said Sam was just moving out.”

“I’m surprised he didn’t break anything before he left,” said Harriet taking a sip of latte.

“We would have taken that from his deposit anyway, seems like he used his brain for once.”

Harriet nodded.

“How did your parents take it?”

“Well, they were mad I didn’t call them as soon as it happened and that I didn’t ask for their help, which seems to be a common theme with people in my life. But they were impressed with the job done by James’s lawyer and eventually agreed to let me take care of it on my own.” Lucy took a bite of muffin and continued. “They still have to get used to my new relationship but I think they’re just worried, and rightly so after all that happened. They see how much I care about James though and they seem to believe he’s a half-decent guy, at least enough not to nag me the whole Christmas dinner with it.”

Harriet laughed

“I’m happy that’s the case.”

Then Harriet’s phone illuminated with a new message, she opened it and her lips quirked up in a satisfied smile.

“I got them, Lucy! John worked his magic! Our quest is over!”

Lucy let out a loud squeak and clapped her hands, then let herself go against the back of her seat with a sigh of relief.

It was seven in the morning on New Year’s Eve and Lucy was sitting next to the big glass wall in James’ flat, she was in her pyjamas with red trousers and a white t-shirt with a drawing of a deer in earmuffs saying “Oh, deer!“. The sky was starting to brighten at the horizon and the living room was only illuminated by the lights of the Christmas tree and that of the kitchen where James was making hot chocolate with brandy for the both of them.

They had spent Christmas with their respective families then Lucy had to go back to work so they had decided to make of New Year’s Eve their Christmas morning.

James walked to the living room carrying a tray with two mugs of hot chocolate topped with cream and a plate with ginger snaps biscuits and placed it on the floor in front of Lucy.

“Merry late Christmas,” he said, giving her a quick peck on the lips.

Lucy grabbed the mug and inhaled the delicious smell of cocoa and brandy, warming her hands on the hot ceramic.

“Should we open the presents?” She asked with excitement in her eyes, beaming like a child.

“You’re an impatient little thing!” Said James with a chuckle, he bit on a piece of biscuit then hoisted himself up and sat again between Lucy and the tree.

Lucy put the mug down and clapped her hands.

“You go first,” she said.

James took a square box wrapped in dark blue paper with a silver ribbon and a small tag that read

To my Jamie. I love you, Lucy.

James broke the ribbon with a quick pull and ripped the paper, his eyes on Lucy who had a look of anticipation on her face. He lifted the lid of the box to reveal some shredded paper, with a raised eyebrow he dug into it and found an envelope, which he removed and tore at the top.

Inside there were two tickets for a boxing match in Las Vegas the following spring.

James looked at them, incredulous, his eyes widening and a child’s smile formed on his lips.

“That’s Carson Vs Devon! How the hell did you find these tickets? They were all sold out a month ago!”

Lucy beamed obviously satisfied with her achievement and shrugged.

“When you are a flight attendant you meet all sorts of people...”

“Flipping hell baby, this is such an amazing surprise. I’m honestly speechless, you’re incredible!” And he leaned forward to kiss her.

“Right, you turn now,” said James, handing her a box wrapped in silver paper with white snowflakes.

Lucy carefully tore through it and lifted the cover of a flat square blue box, a piece of paper was folded in four, she took it and read it.

It was a certificate of authenticity for a piece of the fuselage of a Boeing 747 built in 1969, the document stated that the metal was part of the first Boeing created with serial number 001 and specified the dimensions and the part where it had been extracted before being sent to the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

“I didn’t want to just give you a piece of metal,” James started. “Although you’re such a geek you would have probably loved it...”

Lucy stuck out her tongue.

“Lift the cover,” he said pointing at the box.

Lucy lifted the white silky panel in the box and revealed a silver chain with a heart-shaped silver coloured pendant the size of a fifty pence coin, in the top right part was cut out a small plane.

“I had it made into a pendant for you...”

Lucy lifted her eyes and James found them wet.

“This is so thoughtful, James. Oh my God!”

“Really? I was half scared you would call it a sacrilege or something...”

Lucy didn’t reply but put the box on the floor and threw herself into James’ arms.

“This is the most beautiful gift I’ve ever received, I’m not joking.”

James beamed.

“Oh, I’m so relieved.”

Lucy sat back on her pillow.

“Where did you even get the metal?”

“When you’re an actor you meet all sorts of people,” he said, mocking her voice.

Lucy laughed and wore the necklace feeling the texture of it with her fingertips.

“Love it, love you,” she whispered.

Then looked up at James from under her thick lashes.

“Well Mr Blackwood, I have another little present for you.”

James looked at her curious, tilting his head to the side.

Lucy stood up and slowly took off her top and trousers to reveal a red lingerie piece; the panties were made of a big flower held together by strings running around her hips and a long lace panel connecting the bottom to the top where a lace strapless balconette pushed her breasts up, the heart pendant resting right above the groove between them. Lucy turned on herself to reveal her backside only covered by a g string and the strap of the bra.

James swallowed hard, unable to speak for a moment.

Lucy kneeled next to him and gave him a passionate kiss, which he reciprocated grabbing the back of her head to pull her closer. Lucy broke the kiss and with eyes full of passion she stood up, grabbing James’ hand and pulling him up then started towards the sofa. He tugged at her hand and drew her close to him again, wrapping his arms around her body, feeling her smooth skin and kissing her hard. Lucy pulled away and started to undo her bra hooks but James stopped her.

“Leave it on,” he ordered, his voice dark.

Lucy gave a sexy side smile and slid her hands under his t-shirt and lifted it over his head, throwing it on the floor, then hooked her fingers in his sweatpants and pulled them down in a sharp movement with his underwear. James claimed her mouth again and forced his tongue inside, leaving Lucy breathless; in response, she cupped his erection and tightened her hand around it stroking slowly. James’ kiss became more passionate, moving down to her neck and collarbone where he bit her skin softly, then he pulled back and in a quick movement, he turned her around and pressed her against the glass wall, grabbing her hair with one hand and sliding two fingers inside her. Lucy moaned loudly at the filling sensation and arched her back, rocking her hips to follow James’ movements.

“I love how your body reacts to my touch,” said James in her ear.

Lucy moaned softly in response, biting her lower lip.

James kissed her naked back and her neck and removing his fingers, he quickly thrust inside her holding her hips, causing Lucy to cry loudly with pleasure. His movements were slow and calculated at first and Lucy looked over her shoulder to him, her hair messy and her lips parted in pleasure. James slapped her butt in a deaf sound that made Lucy giggle between her breaths and he began to move faster, holding her hips tight for support. Lucy shifted her weight against the glass to steady herself as she became dizzy with pleasure; James was thrusting in and out fast, moaning and cursing between his teeth, then Lucy screamed and let go of the glass wall as she came and James held her tight for support. He thrust in and out a few more times and also came, slowly dragging the both of them to the floor where they stayed breathless for a moment.

“Merry Christmas baby,” said Lucy eventually.
