Taliah’s POV

'He's not picking up his phone. We might be stuck in here a little while.' Lucas grimaced.

'Great.' I said maybe a little too unenthusiastically.

'Hey!' He put a hand over his heart feigning hurt. 'I can't be that bad to spend some time with.'

'No, you're right. You're not THAT bad.' I smiled playfully before sitting myself down on the floor. If we were going to be here for a while I may as well make myself comfy. I just hoped someone would come down here before anything got too awkward.

'I do love it when you compliment me Tali.' Lucas joked taking a seat on the floor opposite me. Except he managed to sit there looking relaxed, partially leaning on some boxes behind him and crossing his arms over his chest emphasising his muscles. I however sat up straight, my eyes constantly darting back over to the door.

'I have an idea to kill time.' He said bringing my attention back at his soft brown eyes.

'Let's play never have I ever.'

I rolled my eyes leaning my elbows on my knees and using my hands to prop my head up.

'Oh come on, you already know everything about me and I do you.'

'That's not true. We're both very good at keeping secrets.'

Well I couldn't exactly argue with that.

'We don't have any alcohol.'

'Ahh then what's this?' He dug into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small bottle of vodka.

'Where did you get that?'

'I brought it with me and forgot it was in here until now. Is that ok with you Mom?' He winked at me making me roll my eyes again.

'Come on. Where's fun Taliah gone? She always used to be up with getting into mischief with me.'

'She's having a nap.'

'Please, play with me. Please please please.'

Taking two red cups and some Diet Coke from a shelf above us he poured two drinks and passed one to me.

'Ok princess, never have I ever kissed someone of the same sex.'

Simultaneously we both drank.

'Who have you kissed?' I asked whilst trying to hold back my laughter.

'Joseph. We were dared to at a party a couple of years ago. And you?'

'Zara. She got really drunk last year and planted one on me.'

We carried on like this going back and forth either drinking or our cups staying firmly in our grasp.

'Never have I ever had a crush on the other player.' He said wiggling his eyebrows and making my heart beat loudly.

I didn't know what to do. Should I be honest or should I lie? Were there like consequences from the never have I ever God's if you lie? To my surprise whilst I was having a debate inside my head Lucas raised his cup to his lips and drank.

'You've had a crush on me?' I blurted out. 'When?'

Lucas laughed nervously, running a hand through his hair.

'Erik Holden's party after we-

'Kissed.' I filled in.

'Yeah that would be it.'

I started laughing only stopping when I realised I probably looked like I was laughing at him.

'I thought I'd scared you off. You actually liked me?'

He shrugged his shoulders with a smile on his face.

'Ok then, I think I need to retract my non drinking statement. Never have I ever had a crush on the opposite player.' I lifted my drink to pretend cheers and then sipped.

'Well, what do we have here?' He teased putting a smile on my face.

'You know you're supposed to tell the truth during this game.'

I ignored him, instead playing with a charm on my bracelet.

'I had a crush on you then as well. Actually, a little before. That's why we were dared to kiss in the first place.'

'Well I never.'

'Then you started going out with Lara Gosling and broke my heart so.' I lightly kicked his leg making him laugh.

'Going out is a stretch. We held hands and made out a few times. I think the whole relationship lasted a whopping three weeks.'

'It was long enough.'

'I have a question for you. Why have you been avoiding me the last few weeks?'

I stopped playing with my bracelet long enough to look him in the eyes.

'That's not a never have I ever.'

'Just go with it.'

'I haven't been ignoring you.'

He fake laughed before leaning in closer to me.

'Yes you have. Don't lie to me. What your new boyfriend doesn't like me?'

'I don't have a boyfriend and I haven't been avoiding you I've just been thinking about things.

'About what?'

God he was persistent wasn't he.

'What about us?'

'Just leave it Lucas!' I said as I was beginning to lose my patience.

'No, what about us?'

I couldn't help it, I looked at his lips. I prayed he didn't notice, instead I focused on the door. And then all of a sudden he was inches away from me, one hand under my chin pulling my attention back to his face. I felt frozen to the spot. It's funny, I'm not exactly shy around guys but how come this one made me lose all sense and the ability to speak?

'Lucas.' I managed to whisper before his lips crashed onto mine.

'Paige you came!' I wrapped my friend up in a hug getting a face full of her blonde curls.

'Where's Matt?'

'Oh...he's here somewhere.' She said biting her lip. 'Why aren't you watching the movie?'

'I was but got up to do something.' I shifted uncomfortably in my lie but there was no point because she wasn't listening.

'Earth to Paige.' I said waving a hand in front of her face.

'Sorry, I'm just a little distracted..' Her grey eyes darted to the living room door before meeting back up with mine.

'What's wrong? Is everything ok?'

She sighed before pulling me into the kitchen behind her. It was empty in here now the movie had started.

'It's Matt and I...I don't know it just feels like the relationships going nowhere.'

'How so?'

'Well apart from the first date with you and Harrison we haven't actually been anywhere. I either go to his house or he comes to mine. Plus, it's like he doesn't want me around his friends, he's only introduced me to one of them since we started going out.' She took a deep breath in, I think an attempt to calm herself down.

'Am I overthinking things?'

She looked at me with a wild look in her eyes as if she were daring me to say the wrong thing.

'Ermm.' I was stalling but I really didn't know what to say. What she's saying doesn't exactly sound positive for a new relationship but I wasn't going to tell her that.

'I do and I don't. As far as I know he could be just as inexperienced with relationships as you are, so maybe he just wants to take things slow. I wouldn't worry about it, I would just ask him if anything is wrong.'

Thankfully this seemed to be the right thing to say because almost instantly she seemed to calm down.

'You're right, he probably just wants to take things slow. Ok I'll talk to him about it.'

'Good. Now I have to quickly do something so go and enjoy the film. I'll be in in a minute.'

I left her in the kitchen and walked over to the basement door where I found Xavier waiting for me.

'Do you think I've left them long enough?'

'I think if you leave them any longer they'll rip each other's heads off.'

I didn't want to admit it but there was a 50/50 chance he was right.

We made our way down the stairs and to the door where we opened it to reveal Taliah and Lucas making out. They jumped apart as Xavier and I stood by the door first of all shocked which quickly turned into smirks.

'Maybe we should've left them for longer.' I said to Xavier who nodded in agreement.
