My name’s Nikolai or Niko. Sounds pretty cool right, my name seems to have been a mistake. I was born with a rare condition that disfigured me. It affected my face and split my lip and my jaw didn’t develop well so I wasn’t handsome. My parents are filthy rich and it comes in handy but I always got bullied so my parents decided to move me to a new school, I knew It would still continue, I mean the bullying but at least it would reduce cause they wouldn’t know that I’m an over privileged ugly guy.
I sat in my car rethinking my choice to go to school, I could just wait till I turned 19 so I could have the surgery done, I mean it’s two years away, but I know that’s not what I want for myself. I plan to be a better CEO than my father ever was and slacking wouldn’t get me there. Who cares if I don’t have a girlfriend or I get bullied? I have to go. I pulled up my hoodie turned on the ignition of my car and drove off.
I got down from my car and walked into school. Princeton High was like every other high school with the social groups and all and I happened to be a cheerleader. My locker came into view and I smiled at my boyfriend who was waiting patiently for me as always.
“Hello handsome.” I cooed with a smile and kissed him.
“Hey love how was your weekend?” he asked and I shrugged. “Same as usual hanging out and studying.”
He rolled his eyes dramatically. “Ok what now?”, I asked.
“Babe you didn’t come to my party.”,he sighed resting on my locker neighbor's locker.
I sighed and pulled out my needed note, textbook and project paper. “I’m sorry but you have to understand okay, I don’t have it easy like most of you, I have to get this scholarship that’s why I never come to your parties.” I answered and we began walking. He stuffed his hands into his pocket with a sigh. “Yeah, sure.”
“I’m sorry, okay.”
He smiled and nodded and I smiled back. “And um babe?”
“Hmm.," I hummed.
We stopped at my History class door. “Kim was looking for you, she said you’ve been slacking off on cheerleading practice.”
I raised a brow “She’s in school?”
“No, she texted me.”
I stared into his hazel eyes for a moment then smiled. “Ok, see ya.” I gave him one last peck before stepping into class and few seconds later the starting bell rang. I chuckled wishing I could see Jonah (my boyfriend) run to his class on the other side of school.
