Barbie Doll

After our meals were delivered, Aric insisted that I try on every piece of clothes his friend had left.

Embarrassed I stripped down to my underwear and accepted the tops and pants as he handed them to me.

Some of them he insisted were absolutely out of the question, tossing them into the trash as soon as I got them off. Other's he seemed truly delighted with, insisting that I turn this way and that so he could see me from all sides.

On and on he went, determined to go through the entire collection before he would let me rest.

Aside from a bathroom break I stood in the middle of the room taking clothes off and putting clothes on until my arms and legs ached.

Finally we were done, and I was allowed to keep on the last outfit, a soft red sweater and jeans.

Seeing him reach for me I flinched, though I tried with everything in me not to.

Sighing, he pulled me to his bed, making me sit on it facing him.

"Liberty," he said, running his fingers across my cheek, "I don't like that you flinch every time I come too close. I'm not going to purposely hurt you.

"Yes, I am a vampire," he sighed, his palm cupping my face, "but that doesn't mean I am a monster."

Without thinking I pressed my face into his touch, wishing I knew what he expected of me.

Slowly he leaned in, his lips brushing against my forehead.

"Can we start over?" he asked, sitting back.

"Yes," I said softly, my forehead tingling where he'd kissed it.

"Good," he smiled, his hand still on my cheek.

"So," he sighed, standing, "as I've said, when you are alone with me, you may talk without having to be granted permission, but when we are in public or in the presence of vampires or slaves you must play your part.

"Pets are seen, not heard unless instructed otherwise," he said, his face a mask of concentration. "During daylight hours you will stay here with me. I won't lock you into a cage unless you make it necessary."

"Where will I sleep?" I asked, seeing only the one bed in the room.

"The sofa is somewhat comfortable, or you can share the bed with me," he said thoughtfully.

Jumping up I stepped away from the bed.

"The sofa will be fine," I said quickly.

"Fine," Aric replied with a grin, "I'll make sure to have blankets brought up for you."

"Where do you want me to put those?" I asked, point to the still sizable pile of clothes on the floor.

"You can use that chest of drawers there," he said, pointing to a large heavy looking dresser in the corner.

Looking at his watch, he heaved a sigh.

"I have work I need to finish before sunrise," he said, rubbing his face with both hands. "You will remain here and take care of putting you clothes away."

"Yes..." I began, then paused. "What do I call you? Master?"

"In public I am master," he said, coming to stand in front of me, his hand returning to my face, "but when it's just the two of us, you can call me Aric."

"Yes Aric," I said, beginning to enjoy the way my cheek fit so perfectly into his palm.

"Well," he said with a cough, heading for the door. "get to it. I'll be back in a few hours."

With that he left, closing and locking the door behind him.
