I felt something warm on my neck. I tried to move but I couldn't.
I opened my eyes to see Scott draped all over me. His head was on my shoulder, his breath warm against my neck. His hand was over my waist holding me tightly. Our legs tangled together.
I smiled to myself.
I tried to move but that only made Scott's hand tighten at my waist as he snuggled closer to me.
"Ace?" I whispered.
"Hmm." He mumbled sleepily.
"Ace... sweetie, wake up!" I said softly; running my fingers through his hair.
He opened his eyes, looking confused but then looked at me and smiled, "Morning, Brownie" He said, getting up.
It was at that moment, I realized - he wasn't wearing a shirt.
Seriously! Having such a body should be illegal! Those perfectly sculpted musclesand those six packs!
He cleared his throat, making me look at him.
"Like what you see?" He asked, smirking.
Be cool, Nova, be cool.
I scoffed and replied, "I've seen better!"
"Sure you have." He murmured sarcastically, still smirking.
He ran his fingers through his hair and murmured something. I would've paid attention to him if he hadn't just got out of the bed, looking like a Greek God, in pyjamas that hung low on his hips.
Talk about sexy! Da-yum.
"Right?" I heard him say making me look up.
I looked at him confused, "Huh?"
He chuckled and asked, "You haven't heard the word I've just said, right?"
Feeling my cheeks redden, I shook my head.
He sighed and repeated, "I said, you didn't wake up because of me, right? I mean, did I make you uncomfortable last night?"
"No, no. I think, in fact sleeping next to you helped. I mean, I didn't have a nightmare yesterday." I said to him truthfully.
"Yeah, me neither. I think it's the first time in years that I've slept peacefully." He admitted, sitting at the edge of my bed.
"Why? What are your nightmares about?" I asked him softly.
"My past. There's a lot of shit where I've come from. Too much darkness, Brownie." He sighed, looking away.
"Good thing we don't live in our past any more, eh?" I said to him.
He smiled, "Yeah."
He blinked and then said, "Sorry for waking up like that, with me all over you."
I laughed at him and said, "Waking up like that is still better than someone trying to wake you up by pulling your cheeks so hard that you didn't need to wear blush for the whole day."
He chuckled. "Who woke you up like that?" He asked smiling.
"Max." As soon as the name escaped my lips, I coughed and cleared my throat, "Someone I know!"
I hoped he didn't hear me say Max.
He looked at me as if to say something when my phone beeped. I got up and picked up my phone to see two new message from Ryan & Aria.
RyeBear: Hey Novey, sorry. We won't be back today. Apparently, Jenna and Aria had some 'stuff' to do. And by stuff, I meant, "Yay! Shopping" (Note the sarcasm, sister). Anyhoo... enjoy! Try not to kill each other. Love you, pookie.
ArieBerry: Hey, Nova. Won't be back today, Boo. Boys having a 'Guys Night Out' or whatever with Gretchen's husband. See you tomorrow. Boo-Bye, my Boobear.
I snorted. Typical brother and sister, guys. Neither one of them liked to take the responsibility and were always blaming each other.
Well, we would find out the truth when they returned.
"The gang won't be back till tomorrow." I said to Scott.
"Why?" He asked.
"Truthfully, I have no idea." I replied with a sigh.
"Did Aria and Rye text you?" He asked, chuckling knowingly.
"Yeah!" I said, laughing.
"Got it!" He replied, chuckling.
Apparently, Rye and Aria never checked their stories with each other.
"You busy tonight?" He asked me.
"No, why?" I answered.
"When does your shift end?"
"At five. Why?" I repeated.
"Wanna go to a club tonight?"
"Yeah. Sure." I answered, walking towards my bathroom.
I showered and brushed my teeth. We ate our breakfast together.
I got ready and took off for work. The whole day - I kept checking the clock and did two thing - take the order, look at the clock. Order. Clock. Order. Clock. At exact five, I ran out of the diner back to the apartment.
We both watched a movie together. After the movie ended, we both wandered off to our rooms to get ready.
I decided on a simple short back dress with a sweetheart neckline with a small red belt at the waist. I paired it with my red pumps and my red and black bangles and a small red heart shaped earrings. I straightened my hair and looked in the mirror. I was seriously thankful for my now deep red hair because it perfectly matched with the whole black and red theme.
I applied mascara and eye liner with smoky eye. And lastly applied my blood red lipstick.
I grabbed my purse and got out of my room and headed towards the living room to see Scott waiting for me. I quickly scanned his body. He had worn a light blue T-shirt under a royal blue shirt which he had left unbuttoned to make it look like a jacket with black jeans and paired it with black boots and his big black watch.
How could a guy look so handsome?
His hair was still messy, just the way I liked it. Sigh!
I didn't needed to go to a stupid club. I could have just stayed here and stared at him all day.
His smiled when he noticed me. I smiled back.
"You look-" We both started at the same time and laughed.
"Ladies first. So... tell me how do I look?" He winked, posing for me.
"You look fine." I said, teasing him.
"Fine? Just fine? Try again, babe." He grunted.
"Okay, you look hot." I complimented him, smiling.
He thought it over and repeated, "Try again."
"Okay... you look so hot that if you were my boyfriend, I would forget the whole club thing and would drag you into my bedroom and we both wouldn't leave that room until tomorrow!" I said truthfully.
His eyes widened from my comment and his cheeks flushed.
Aww! I made Scott Taylor blush!
"Ok. Your turn! How do I look?" I asked him.
"You look okay!" He said, teasingly.
"Okay? Just okay? Try again, babe." I said to him, mimicking his own words.
"Okay. You look smoking hot!" He said truthfully.
I smiled, "Try again!"
"Hottest girl in the world."
"Mmh. Again." I said to him.
"You look so hot that if you were my girlfriend, I would forget about this club thing and would not even bother to drag you to my room, I would take you right here, right now. And we both wouldn't leave this apartment forever." He said with his intense look in his eyes.
My eyes widened and I shivered inwardly. He looked at me with soft blue eyes filled with adoration.
Crap. Don't go there. What about Max?
I cleared my throat and looked away, "We... um... better get going."
"Yeah..." He agreed, running his fingers through his hair.
Getting out of the apartment, I asked him, "So, where are we going?"
"There's this new club opened last week, few blocks away; called The Black Knight. People say it's good. Wanted to check it out." He answered, smiling.
"The Black Knight, huh? Sounds cool." I murmured.
He grunted in approval
