"No mother, it's always about you,but don't worry I am not going to end up like you, I will do better mother... unlike you I won't be poor." Word by word I could feel Mother's eyes filling up with tears. She pursed her lips, rage clearly boiling through her body. "Anaya.." she shouted raising her hand back, I quickly shut up as she threw her hand forward as hard as she could whipping it across my face. The crack of skin contacting skin echoed off the walls. Vibrations of pain started in my cheek, spreading across my face. Her palm was red, the same red marks that matched the one on my face. I stared at her with my eyes wide as my hand slowly made it to my fire red cheek. I ran out of the house as fast as my legs could carry me. I didn't know if I was sad because I made her cry, or because my face burned like hell from being slapped so hard by my own mother.
