So here I am lying in my bed awoken by the sound of my alarm. That snooze button just wouldn't work so I had to get up.
Anyway my mother was busy on the phone with my grandmother since they would talk for hours while I got about with my day to day activities knowing school was no longer in session.
When she came off the phone she broke the news that my grandma was coming home for the holiday and was going to be staying at our house for a week. My god why! Were the first words that came to mind.
Not like I didn't like her or cared for her but the lady was a pain and made everyone's life a living hell for just that short while.
Likewise on my father's face I saw lots of displeasure because he always wants to impress her and now that his woodworking shop was not making the kinds of funds he wanted but nevertheless I know he will still try his best to make the best out of her stay.
But this year my mom had a surprise for her because she had opened her own bakery which had been closed for the last year after she didn't have enough funds to keep it open but what I believe will shock her is that my mom didn't call her and ask her for any money to open the bakery
What she didn't expect is that my mom could do what she did on her own.
But this was all because she didn't know what I wanted for christmas and certainly if she knew what I wanted she couldn't give it to me.
So I have said everything about everyone so that brings me to who I am and what I want for this holiday.
"Taylor" I heard Jessie call from upstairs of the mall as I made my way up. "
"Heyy girls I'm so happy to see you guys. I'm so glad to be out of that house for once it's been such a long time since I had some me time away from my GRANDMA." I told heather as she approached me and Jessie
"Girl I'm so glad I don't have that kind of drama happening in my house" heather replied emphatically as we made our way down the hall in the Santa village where we would always go and tell Santa our wishes for the holiday.
Even though we were 16 it still had some meaning to us so we did.
"What are you going to ask Santa for this year Taylor" Jessie asked me as we got closer to the little neatly decorated room near the end of the hall.
"Really I might just ask for some book or something or the other" but deep down in my heart what I really wanted I don't even think Santa can give me.
"Well I'm going to ask Santa bring me a scooter so that myself and Johnny can go riding up the hills Christmas day.
" In my mind I was thinking how great that would be having your boyfriend take you up the hills of Nevada City. It's the most beautiful place, with amazing scenery that takes your breath away.
Heather I stood there with gloomy eyes while Jessie spoke of her wish.
"That's so cool Jessie, I wish Ash could take me up the mountains too but he is coming over for dinner with my family."
We all began laughing as Ash walked up from behind and dropped pieces of snowflake from the window into heather's shirt and she began wildly running after him.
The two of them looked as cute as ever as they ran around like little kids.
Even though their love fest started since she was 13 when he made her a paper plane for her birthday and she has had that plane in a glass box over her closet away from the eyes of her parents ever since then.
But Jamie and Johnny got together last Christmas after Jamie said that's what she asked Santa for. So this year I was going to try asking Santa for a boyfriend for Christmas too.
"Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas, so Taylor what do want for Christmas?" I was first startled by his voice but then I answered
"Well Santa I know this might sound funny but I would like a boyfriend for Christmas" I said quietly in his ear so that my giggling friends in front of me could not hear. For a moment I knew he thought I was joking but I wasn't.
By now you might be wondering who i am well I am Taylor and I'm the eldest of my family.
I'm a home town girl never left Nevada City because I like it here. Well I have three friends who have been with me since I was in grades school and they never left this town either.
