Chapter 14 - Returning Home

Leo was right when he said that sex was more intense as a Lycan. Every touch sparked, every smell and sound increased the pleasure and every orgasm lasted longer and deeper than ever before. I thought Leo was great in bed before but now he was amazing. We spent months like a couple of honeymooners that couldn’t get enough of each other. I loved him so much and trusted him with every bit of my heart and soul.

It has been over two years since I left my pack behind since I was rejected by the twins and lost our pup. I hadn’t heard from them in all that time. I didn’t expect it either, especially since they didn’t know where I was. And honestly, I was relieved since it allowed me to finally move on.

My Lycan training was done and it was time to head back to my old pack to handle the increasing rouge threat and then inform the Alphas that I was officially transferring packs.

Leo, Clara, and I were on our way to the White Oak pack where Greyson was anxiously awaiting us. Clara had already completed her pack transfer papers which took longer than expected due to Alpha Darren’s absent mind as of late and were moving in with Greyson.

Leo sat in the back with me while Clara drove and belted out to every Taylor Swift song she knew. It was terrible and made the trip much longer than necessary.

I planned on avoiding the twins as much as I could and only address them regarding rogue business. But you know what they say, You make a plan and then the moon goddess laughs at you.

“You’ll be fine, just breath.” Lumen assured me.

We finally pulled up to my old pack and stopped outside the packhouse I use to call home. Alpha Darren, Liam, and Jameson waited outside with Greyson behind them. Greyson and Alpha Darren had promised me to not tell the twins that I was coming so I knew they were in for a surprise.

Clara was the first to get out and greet the Alphas and then quickly leaped in Greysons’s arms. Leo stepped out and greeted them as well and I did the same on the other side.

The twins were focused on Leo but sniffed the air and looked at each other confused when I walked around the vehicle and hugged Alpha Darren.

“Welcome to our pack, Lycan Leo. We are grateful for your help.” Liam was talking to Leo.

Jameson stood to his side and started speaking. “I thought there would be three of you?”

“There is, this is Lycan Olivia. My mate.” Leo motioned towards me and the twins’ gaze snapped to me.

Time stood still as I saw their anguish on their face. They looked older and the effect of the weariness of the past few years was right there staring me in the face. They were still handsome as before but more mature and composed.

“Hello, Alpha Jameson and Alpha Liam.” I greeted them with a handshake and then snaked my arm through Leo’s. “Will we be staying in the packhouse? It’s been a long trip and we would like to rest up before we discuss how to handle the rouges.”

“Olivia?” Jameson whispered but my enhanced hearing picked up on it.

“We looked everywhere for you, for months,” Liam exclaimed and took a step towards me.

Lumen spoke from deep within my mind. “Knock him on his ass and then do the same to Jameson.” I shook my head and hoped Lumen understood.

Leo stepped in between us and gently pushed Liam back with one hand. “We will be going to our room now. We’ll see you at six for the meeting.” He pulled me along and into the packhouse.

I led him to my old room, hoping that it was still available, and found that everything was the same. All my things were right there where I had left them, the sheet was clean and the bathroom had fresh towels. It was as if I had never left.

“How do you feel?” Leo asked while unpacking his bag.

“Strange but better than I thought. They didn’t affect me like I thought they would.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. “I love you, Leo. Don’t ever doubt that. Want to take a shower?”

“Mmm, that’s the best idea I’ve heard all day.” The shower was only an excuse to get him naked and I dropped to me knees as soon as the water hit my skin.

It was almost six in the evening and time for the meeting. We walked to the meeting room and found that we were the last to get there.

Alpha Darren sat across the twins who were at the head of the long table with an empty seat in between them for their luna. Greyson and Clara sat to their left and Leo and I took the seats across from them. Why is there only one Luna seat?

Leo took charge of the meeting and started off by asking the twins what they had done so far. It turned out that their strategies and effort were a lot like what they taught us at the Academy but their rogues were smarter than most. They kept moving their campsite, attacked from different directions, different times of the day and days of the week. Their attack was never consistent and had no pattern to them.

The twins’ eyes were fixed on me the entire meeting and only glanced away occasionally when someone spoke to them. Surprisingly, Their stare didn’t make me want to run and hide as it would have a few years back. I guess I was stronger now.

“Alright, We will study their behavior for a while and assess the situation. We’ll convene once again when we have some information to share.” Leo closed out the meeting and stood up to leave. Clara and Greyson made it out first, having more exciting things to do than this.

“Olivia, would you please stay.” Liam pleaded.

“She’s coming with me,” Leo demanded and pulled me towards the door.

Both Liam and Jameson advanced towards us and blocked the door. “I wasn’t talking to you, Lycan Leo. You may go.” Liam tried to separate me from Leo by placing his hand on the arm Leo was holding.

“Not likely.” Leo spat.

“We just want to talk, please.” Jameson motioned for us all to sit back down.

I shook my head and refused to sit down like we were old friends catching up. “I have nothing to say to you. When Alpha Darren agreed to send me to the Lycan Academy I made it clear that I never wanted to see or hear from you two again. I’m only here to do my duty as a Lycan and will file my transfer of pack papers in the morning. Now please excuse me, it’s been a long day and I would like to go to bed with my mate.” I pushed past them with Leo hot on my trail and into my old bedroom.

“I’m sorry, Leo. You shouldn’t have to go through this.” I wrapped my arms around myself and rubbed my arms. “Can we just figure this rogue issue out so we can go back home?”

Leo started to undress and get ready for bed. “It’s not your fault, Olivia. We’ll get through this and then we won’t ever have to see them again. Let’s go to sleep and start figuring this out first thing tomorrow.”

We spent the next few days looking around the pack land for signs of the rogues, talking to the warriors that interacted with them, and watching the security cameras available. The twins had been right, the rogues were unpredictable but I figured that that on its own could be their downfall.

Most of my interactions were with Greyson when I needed the twins to know anything and they hadn’t bothered me since the meeting on the first evening back. Greyson and I were sitting on the dock by the lake, talking about the mischief we ended up in as kids. We were laughing and having a good time and it almost felt like before I left home, like old times.

Our conversation took a turn when Greyson cleared his throat and decided to bring the twins up. “You know, they haven’t chosen a Luna yet.”

“Ok, not sure why you’re telling me though? That’s all in the past and I’ve moved on.” I admitted and for once it was the actual truth. I was happy with Leo and didn’t want to dwell on what if’s.

“Are you sure? I mean, you still wear the necklace. Maybe a part of you haven’t moved on and is still hoping that they will come around.” Greyson looked remorseful as soon as he said it. “Don’t get mad, I just want what’s best for you, and I still think it’s the twins.”

I realized that I would never get anywhere discussing this with him so I changed the subject instead. “How did Emma take it when you meet Clara?”

“I see what you’re doing but I’ll allow it for now. She was upset and started crying. I can’t blame her, we dated for years and then one day I was with someone else. It must have hurt but I heard that she found her own mate at school.”

“Has she not brought him around?” I thought it strange that he hadn’t met her mate yet.

“Her, it’s her. And no, she’s bringing her for the Winter Festival in a few weeks. Amelia will be there too but she’s still mateless.” Greyson laughed. “I feel sorry for whoever ends up being her mate, she’s a handful.”
