19. Moving forward

It's been a week since I woke up. I'm getting discharged with a clean bill of health today.

Clayton.

He's been here for me through everything. My dad told me that he never left my side and even slept at the hospital every night.

I'm going to live with Clayton and his parents from now on. My dad apologized to me for all the pain he's caused and gave me a choice. I can live with Clayton and his parents or I can live in that house again. He says he's fixed it up. I immediately chose Clayton and they were happy to invite me into their home. So my dad says he's going to sell the house.

My dad said he'd be home more often and promised to visit every holiday. We caught up on the last few years and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. He reluctantly flew back to Amsterdam this morning.

Our friends visited a lot over the past week and Clayton helped me catch up on some of the school work I missed. I still have a few assignments and two tests to write before I'm all caught up.

I just finished packing when there was a knock at my door and strong arms wrapped around me from behind.

"Hey baby. I missed you. You all packed and ready to get outta here?" Clayton asked.

I giggled. "Hi Carebear. You saw me this morning and yes I'm all done we can go."

"So? I miss you every time when you're not with me." he said matter-of-factly.

I smiled and took his hand after he threw my bag over his shoulder.

We happily made our way out of the hospital together.

Once we got home (I like thinking of the Blake house that way), Luce and Uncle Andy hugged me tightly and we ate lunch together like a big family.

After lunch we went up to our room (his parents and my dad allowed me and Clayton to share a room after what happened), and I started unpacking all my stuff with Clayton's help.

A few days later I returned to school and handed in all the assignments I missed. I wrote my tests and now I'm all caught up. And just in time too.

Summer vacation is at the end of the week and me and Clayton decided to go to New York again for the first month. The last two months we decided to just wing it and do whatever came to mind.

~~~~
Summer vacation we spent the first month in New York in a lodge close to the beach. It was amazing. We swam every day and just spent time together. Never letting go.
I love him so much.
The second month we decided to ride to Harvard and check out the campus and appartments close by.
Because after summer break there's only three months left and then senior year is finished.
Harvard is huge we took a tour and looked at different type of sport that they have. Clayton will of course be playing football and I'm thinking about joining the track team (if I get in... Clayton's spot is garanteed because of his scholarship. I'm just waiting for my letter).
We looked at appartments and found a beautiful two bedroom apartment close to school and it's totally affordable.
My dad offered to pay for our apartment and we happily excepted. So now that we've got everything figured out we're just gonna spend our last month of summer break at home with Luce and Uncle Andy. He said he'll get off of work to spend some time with us.
It's Saturday afternoon in the last week of summer break.
Me and Clayton are laying in bed together.
He's sitting upright with his back against the headboard with me sitting in between his legs reading. He's watching some show on TV.
His arms are around my torso and I feel his hand go under my shirt, tracing the scars there. He does that allot, ever since that night he became extremely overprotective of me.
When we had the trial for Tristan, Clayton would always be right next to me. Holding my hand or hugging me when I felt like I wouldn't be able to do it. He was with me every step of the way.
Tristan was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder without parole.
We were so happy that day.
And ever since then Clayton would always be tracing the scars with his fingers like he was thankful that I survived.
I am too.
Me and Clayton recently became intimate.
The first time we made love was when we were in New York. He had taken me on a date that night and I just felt so loved. We had a romantic picnic on the beach and we danced under the stars.
When we got back to the lodge it was as if he knew I was ready and kissed me passionately and lovingly.
When we were naked he took his time in kissing every scar with little butterfly kisses as if he was proving that he excepts them and moved on.
It was the best night of my life. We proved our love for each other that night and I couldn't be happier.
"I love you so much Clayton Blake." I had whispered to him after. We were basking in the afterglow of our love making.
"I love you too Angela Wolf. So much." And then he kissed me one more time before we fell asleep. Happy and content.
After school started and our end-of-year exams finished I received my letter.
Me, Clayton and his parents are sitting in our living room. I have the letter in my hand.
"Ughh I can't do it. You do it carebear." I said and thrust the letter into his hands as he sat next to me.
"Fine babe." he said and started opening the letter.
I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers.
"Harvard university of New York is happy to inform you Angela Wolf that you have been accepted into our prestiges school... Blah blah blah." read Clayton out loud.
I immediately squealed and jumped up from the couch.
"I got in! I did it! I got in!" I screamed overjoyed.
Clayton also jumped up and lifted me off the ground and spun me around as if I weighed nothing. I laughed in joy. He slowly brought me down and kissed me passionately.
"I'm so proud of you baby." he whispered as he laid his forehead against mine.
"Thanks... " I smiled at him lovingly while touching his face.
We were both suddenly engulfed in a hug by his parents. We just smiled and held onto each other.
This is a new beginning for us both. We're moving forward.
