Chapter Four

At home:

Ally and I basically just chilled and jammed out at home, nothing interesting. But Ally was talking with Bryce until after 2am, which sucked.

2:15am

‘Hey are you awake?’ I texted Kyle.

‘Yeah, what’s up? Are you okay?’

‘Yes, I’m fine just annoyed, Ally is on a call with Bryce and they’ve been talking or flirting all fucking night.’

‘Ha-ha we can give them shit tomorrow for it, if you want.’

‘Ha-ha yeah that would be a lot of fun, how long have you known Bryce for?’

‘Since the beginning of time, when a mother gave birth to a very stupid son and her best friend gave birth to the best child ever and came up with the coolest name ever Kyle.’ I laughed at his response.

‘Ha-ha sounds like someone’s a bit full of themselves’

We talked for another hour until I fell asleep. That night I’d dreamt of Kyle, and all my feelings came flooding back.

Tuesday:

Most of my classes sucked today, I just couldn’t pay attention, I was too busy thinking about last night. Kyle and I talked a lot, and so did Bryce and Ally.

English and History rolled around, I was looking forward to it. Ally went to her seat, next to Bryce. Kyles cheeky smirk looked to me as I sat in my seat across from him, I had a feeling I knew what was running through his mind.

Isaac sat down beside me rambling something to himself.

“Are you okay?” Kyle questioned him.

“yes, it’s just some shit at home.” He responded, swearing for the first time.

We were all very quiet after that, it was awkward. It just occurred to us all that we knew nothing about Isaac. I was kind of run speechless, I didn’t even notice when Kailey walked up to our table.

“Hey Kyle, here’s my number. Call me.” She said giving him a bit of paper. I felt something in the pit of my stomach, jealousy?

“Isaac, would you like to have Kailey’s phone number?” Kyle smirked offering him the bit of paper. We all turned to Isaac.

“Oh, I would love to, I’ll enjoy talking with her.” He responded with a villain like grin spreading across his face, it was hard not to laugh.

“Addi, can you come with me please?” I heard my mother’s voice echo behind me.

“Class you will have a sub for period 3, I have some paperwork to attend to.” My mother told our class.

I followed her into a room, two police officers sat there. I knew what was going to happen, I knew the topic, I wouldn’t be able to stop the tears. I sat in a chair across from them, they asked me very insightful questions, some were harder to answer then others.

“We haven’t caught him yet but with CCTV footage we know who we are looking for. This man has done this kind of thing before…” The officers told my mother and I, the way they said it was like he had stolen a piece of chocolate not raped a 16-year-old girl.

“we recommend you take a pregnancy test and see a doctor just to be safe.” The officers told us as we all stood up.

“we’ll be in touch.” The other officer spoke.
