"Hey, dad! Do you know what Evelyn did today?" Xavier said. Dad came from upstairs, looking at both of us.
"What?" Dad asked.
"She skipped her classes with a boy. And she even has a boyfriend now." He narrowed his eyes at me. I rolled my eyes.
"By boy, you mean Blake?" I nodded. "Chill Xavi, I know the guy." Dad shrugged and Xavi frowned.
"You know him? Why didn't you tell me then?"
"Because I didn't want you to come here only to beat up the guy. Now calm down and unpack your bags." Dad said to him and then turned to me. "I'm going for a meeting and will come home late, okay? Xavi will make you dinner and don't wait for me."
"Okay." I said and hugged him. He kissed my forehead and I smirked towards Xavier. He rolled his eyes and went to his room. After dad left, I jumped and sprinted to his room.
I opened the door with a loud bang, making him jump and then I jumped on his bed.
"Stop, Evie. Or you'll break my bed." I ignoring him completely, I started asking him questions.
"Who was the blonde at the cafe today? If she your girlfriend? Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend?"
"Her name's Willow. And yeah, she's my girlfriend." He blushed slightly. I giggled and hugged him.
"I'm happy for you, bro." He smiled and muttered a thankyou. Later we caught up on things. I told him about Blake and stuff. He didn't question much about him. He knew that once dad had approved of him, he couldn't do anything about it.
"What are you doing here? I mean, not that I don't want you here, I'm just curious." I said.
"I'm here for your graduation, Cupcake." He answered. I smiled.
Skipping To The Graduation Day.....
I was getting ready in my room. Dad had gone to his office while Xavi was on a date with Willow. Both of them promised to be at the ceremony on time though.
I came out of the shower and wore my clothes and gown. To be honest, I think I look pretty good.
As if on cue, the door to my room opened and Amy bursted in.
"Evel!!!!" She launched herself at me. "We are getting graduated!!" I giggled and patted her back before pulling back.
"I know. How do you feel about it?" I asked.
"Excited. You?" She smiled.
"I feel quite terrified." I chuckled nervously. She giggled and shook her head.
"You just need to loosen up a bit. Let me do your hair and make up."
A few minutes later, we both were finally done.
"We look so beautiful..." Amy said, looking at me through the mirror. I smiled. "Blake wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of you." She said.
"Yeah...." My mood changed in an instant. She frowned.
"Did something happen between you two again?" I shook my head.
"No. It's just that....we never talked about our relationship or even our lives after graduation. I'm just worried." I stated. She smiled and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry, Evel. That guy loves you too much to break up with you." She chuckled, trying to lighten up the mood.
Which she did.
The doorbell rang and we snapped our heads to the door. Thinking it's the guys, we both headed downstairs to open the door.
But, it were my parents.
I frowned. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Here to see if you have done your packing yet or not. And also to give you your tickets of the flight." Mother said. Amy looked between her and me and cleared her throat.
"Hello Mrs Matthews." Mother looked at her and then at me, raising her eyebrow.
"You lesbo?" She asked, making us choke on the air. My father whereas was very busy doing shit on his phone.
"Sorry to interrupt this, but she and I have to go." Amy said, taking our bags and then pulling me out of the house. "I can't believe she just said that! She didn't even mention your graduation or say something nice for you! It's your special day afterall."
I chuckled. "Let's go and meet our boyfriends for now. We can talk about her later."
"Her parents have arrived at her house to take her to London. Seriously, that oldie is a bitch!" Amy said to Luke. Luke sighed and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"You look gorgeous, Lynne." A deep voice whispered in my ear. I grinned and turned back, hugging the life outta him. He chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"You look awesome yourself." I said when we pulled back. He smiled and pecked my lips.
“Attention students, you are requested to come near the stage in five minutes. The ceremony is going to start in a bit. I repeat, all the students are requested to come near the stage in five minutes."
I held Blake's hand in mine and all four of us walked towards the stage. We were then arranged in a line.
"Mary Shawn." The announcer said. One by one our names were called and we were given our certificates and were congratulated. Soon when all of our turns were finished, we threw up our caps in the air and cheered. We even congratulated them whome we never talked with.
And then, moved on to meet our families.
Blake, Luke and Amy went to their parents while Xavier, Dad and Willow came to me. Xavier pulled me in hug and smiled proudly at me.
"Congratulations, sis." I smiled back.
"Thank you." Then it was Willow who pulled me in a hug.
"I'm so happy for you, Evelyn. And I wish you all the best for your future." I smiled at her too and thanked her. Now it was dad.
He looked at me for moment and a tear left his. I pulled him in a tight hug and wiped his tears. He chuckled and pecked my forehead.
"So, my baby is finally growing up, huh?" I giggled and smiled as a tear left my eye too. "I'm happy for you, Evie. But I wish the circumstances were different."
"Me too, dad." I walked to Blake then.
He was having a real conversation with his dad.
"Congratulations, son. I'm really happy for you." Mr Maxwell said.
"Thanks dad." Blake replied. His dad then smiled sadly and was about to leave when Blake called him and stopped him. "Hey Dad!"
"...um....I'm really sorry for all of the pain I have caused you in these years after mom's accident. I understand it wasn't your fault with whatever James and Rebecca did to us. I hope you will forgive
We then waved at our parents and came together to open our acceptance letters from universities we had applied in. Amy opened her letter first and squealed.
"I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!" We all chuckled and congratulated her. Luke and she shared a brief kiss. Then, Luke opened his letter and revealed that he got accepted too.
Now it was time for gifts.
Amy gifted her boyfriend a watch, saying it would remind him of every second of their relationship when they are in long distance. Amy gifted me a friendship bracelet and Blake a sticker that says “Real pain in ass”.
We all chuckled. We were ready to leave now. As I moved forward, Blake held my hand, making me stay back with him. I raised my eyebrow.
"Yeah?" I asked. He didn't say anything but placed an envelop in my hand, motioning for me to open it. I furrowed my eyebrows and opened the letter.
Mr Blake Maxwell is hereby informed that, he has been accepted in the Business and Management University of London—
I looked at him with a clear look of surprise and shock.
"Wh...how....wh..uh..um..hell...wh..." I just couldn't find any words at that time. I just prayed to the god, to not let it be a joke.
Blake chuckled and kissed me. He pulled back, stroking my cheek with his thumb, staring deep into my eyes.
"Consider this your graduation gift from me." He whispered and I threw myself at him. I cried silently in his chest but it were the tears of happiness. "We may not be in a same University but we can be in same city, right? And I was thinking about getting a apartment for us, what do you think?"
I think I'm falling for him even harder than I did before.
"I love you." I sniffed. He smiled, wiping my tears and pecked my forehead.
"I love you too."
