Chapter 8

Juliet POV,

Pain, was the best way to describe what I was feeling when I opened my eyes. I wanted to wipe my eyes, but they were bound behind my back. How the hell did I get here? I said to myself. “Hello?” I called out. Then I heard a door open. I tried to look in that direction, but I couldn’t move.

“It’s about time you woke up. I thought we killed you.” The voice was female. That’s when it all flooded back to me.

“How the hell do you know my name? Who are you and why were you in my man’s home?” She walked over to me and came face to face with me. She reached out and ran a wet towel down my face. The pain hit me again and I cried out. “Stop being a baby and start talking.”

“I’m a friend of Nolan’s. I was just dropping something off.”

“Your lying to me. Who the hell are you?”

“I told you I’m just a friend.”

“Then why were you taking pictures of me?” I tried to take a deep breath, but it hurt. I didn’t know what else to say.

“Because he is my friend and you were cheating on him.”

“Are you fucking him?” I just stayed quiet. Then she smiled at me. “He is a fantastic lay don’t you think?” I still stayed quiet. “Catching me cheating is not going to get him out of the contract. You wasted your time and now your life.”

“I thought you didn’t know about the contract?”

“So you are fucking him?” She started to laugh. “You think he cares about you? I promise you that Nolan only cares about himself. You were just pussy to him.” My head was throbbing and I felt like I was losing consciousness again.

“I’m dizzy.”

“Yeah, you should be. You took a good hit to your head. There’s no way I’m going to let you ruin our plans.”

“What do you want from him?”

“His money and power. Oh, but I want him and I want him all to myself. See unlike you, I love him and want to marry him. Nolan is a wonderful businessman. He is worth more to me than you will ever know.”

“Then why cheat on him? He was willing to marry you.”

“Nolan doesn’t love me and he barely sleeps with me. In fact, he hasn’t touched me in months.” She paused for a moment. “I guess your the one who has been keeping him satisfied. If he cheats he breaks the contract. My father can’t know that.” God, I just knew she was going to kill me. I was too weak to fight. When I moved I had no idea this was what was going to happen to me. I didn’t think I would fall for Nolan, but I did and now I’m going to die. My body gave in and I laid back down on the floor. My head was spinning and I just wanted to go home.

“Please Kimberly, I won’t say a word. I need a doctor.” She laughed again.

“Too bad sweetheart. Nolan needs to believe your dead.”

“Please.” She stood up and kicked me in my stomach. Then her phone went off. My eyes were closed but I could still hear everything.

“Hello, baby.”

Nolan’s POV,

“Where is she, Kimberly.”

“Who are you talking about?”

“Don’t play dumb with me. I know you have her. I have the pictures, Kimberly. It’s all over and the police know you have her. Turn yourself in and give her back to me.”

“Do you love her Nolan? What does she have that I don’t?”

“A heart, give her back or I’ll kill you myself.” I heard Juliet cry out. “You fucking bitch. Leave her alone. She is innocent.” Kimberly started to laugh.

“No one is innocent.”

“Your father knows what you have done. The contract is void. You lose and you will rot in prison if you kill her. Do you want to die in prison, alone without your Prada to protect you? Tell me where you are?”

“Fuck you, Nolan, if I can’t have you then you lose her too.” She hung up the phone and I tried to call her back. Over and over but the phone just rang.

“Fuck!” I yelled out.

“We have a Location.” The officer said and the police and detectives. Stood up and let the men know where to head out. I stood up with them and detective Smith stopped me.

“You can’t go with us.”

“The fuck I can’t.”

“Nolan, let them do their jobs,” Eric said.

“I’m going and they can’t stop me.” I grabbed my coat and so did Eric. “Where are they?” I hollered out.

“In the basement of this building.” One of the officers announced. Eric and I just looked at each other. I took off running. I had no idea how Kimberly even got a key card to get into the basement. I would settle that once this was over and Juliet was back in my arms. The basement is huge and she could be anywhere.

“It’s huge and dark down there. She could be anywhere.” I said as I pulled out my gun and cocked it.

“What do you think you’re doing?” The detective asked me.

“Helping my girl.” Five police officers and two detectives. Plus Eric and myself headed to the basement. More police were on their way. I if no idea what we were going to find down there. I didn’t even know just how crazy Kimberly could actually be. For all, I knew I was too late and Juliet was already gone. The anger flooded throughout my body. Please God, let her be okay. I said to myself. I swear the elevator was moving too slow. Finally, the elevator came to a stop and it opened to a dark hallway. “I don’t want to turn the lights on. It will let her know we are here.” The police pulled out their flashlights and moved ahead of us. The rest of us followed them. That’s when a scream flooded the halls and we all took off running.

Keep yelling out baby, I’m coming. I said to myself. We turned a corner where we all came face to face with Kimberly pointing a gun at Juliet. Kimberly turned and looked at me. “You can’t have her,” Kimberly said looking only at me.

“Drop your gun.” The police yelled out. Still, she kept her eyes on me. I glanced at Juliet and her face and head were covered in blood. Her arms and legs were tied up and I knew Kimberly didn’t do this alone.

“Kimberly, just bring me the gun,” I said softly. I’m had to try and act fast. Juliet looked horrible.

“I can’t Nolan.”

“Yes, you can.” That’s when I felt a gun push into my head.

“Drop the guns or I’ll kill him.” I didn’t recognize the male voice.

“No!!!” I heard Kimberly yell out and she came running towards me. The officers open fire and I watched Kimberly hit the ground and the gun falls from my head. I didn’t think as I took off towards Juliet.

“Get these things off of her,” I yelled out. Once they cut the ropes of her. I carried her in my arms out to the ambulance waiting in front of the building. Right before I handed her over to the paramedics. She opens her eyes loved enough to tell me she loved me, and that’s when I lost it. Tears poured down my face and I knew I loved her more than anything in my life. “I love you too baby,” I said just before she closed her eyes again. The paramedics took her from my arms. Willy came with us to the hospital.

It’s been four days and Juliet is still in a coma. They don’t know if she will wake up or not. I was able to reach her family and they have been here now for two days. I wasn’t sure if contacting her family was right or not, but someone needed to be here to sign paperwork for her. Her mother and father seem very concerned. Her sister showed up with her husband and I could see the pain in her eyes. I just hoped when Juliet wakes up that she is not upset with me. Her parents came during the days but left her at night. I stayed with her constantly. “She has always been a free Spirit. When she left my parents acted like I was their only child. I promise you they are only here to stay face.” Her sister told me while I was holding Juliet’s hand. “She is lucky to have you.”

“She is in here because of me,” I said just looking at Juliet.

“Do you love her?”

“Then that’s all that matters. Juliet believes in love and if she loves you. She will forgive you.”I reached up and kissed Juliet’s cheek. She is two broken ribs and a broken wrist. Her worse injuries were to her head. The man that was with Kimberly bashed her head twice. She had some swelling and fluid on the brain. It’s what is keeping her in the coma. It’s the body’s way of healing. Even if she wakes up. She may never be the same.
