Chapter 4

He was radiating at me with delighted eyes. I made a sound as if to speak, yet he didn’t whiten. Seeing the pressure in the passage increment, I chose to end the quietness.

“Guess the show is over.” I said, faking a chuckle.

Without sitting tight for any reaction I moved my heels towards the steps however he snatched my wrist. What’s with everybody and my wrist today?

“You are that young lady, right?”

What is he talking about? Oh, that...

“No doubt, I am the young lady who was yelling ‘Cheap Thrills’ on top of her lungs.”

I gave him another phony smile, attempting to veil my anxiety, and successfully failed miserably. He was confused at first, however, then shook his head energetically.

“No, not that. I implied you are the young lady whom Adrian brought?”

“Definitely, that magnificent, overly looking model is me.”

I ought to value myself for acting so sure.

He grinned widely. I should say he’s an adorable-looking person. That is to say, each individual whom I have seen here is incredible, from Mr. Perfect to the gatekeepers. All resemble models.

Guess vampire stories are genuine with regards to its male species.

“You appear to like Sia?”

And there falls the drapery for my fantasy.

“Naah, I am more into Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, however I like this particular melody of her’s.”

I said, waving my hand.

“So you are a music lover then?”

“You bet.” Music can cause me to enter the domain of Nirvana.

“Want to join me? I think some quality company is appreciated now.”

He asked, raising his eyebrows. I smiled politely and was going to answer ‘perhaps later’ (all things considered, they are parasitic vampires) when a smooth voice filled the passage.

“That will not be essential, Sid.”

I have heard this voice before, but oh.... And there he is, ladies and gentlemen, presenting Mr. Perfect in all his serious glory.

“I expected she had her own vocal lines.”

WO guess I am not the only one having a spinal cord here. Ooh, how much I am starting to like Sid. Mr. Perfect was literally sending daggers at him. I think it’s time to have some fun.

“You know what Sid; I would love to spend some time with you. After all, you have been really good to me, unlike certain others. Think I should repay you for that.”

At that point I pushed Sid gently and went into his room as though I own it. I didn’t go to see both their appearances, yet I can fairly envision it.

Sid would be dumbstruck, while Mr. Perfect would be furious as usual.

And ooh how much I enjoy seeing him that way.........

His room was equivalent to mine. White dividers, beige drapes, a gigantic bed in the center, a sofa, walk-in closet and an En-suite.

However, this one had an additional love seat, which shouted costly. I moved towards the enormous window and looked through the superb blind. The view is lovely outside, dissimilar to from my room, which includes half of another structure and thick dim backwoods. Besides, the nightfall here is amazing. The orange-red round ball gradually falls downwards, taking the light alongside it.

I can swear I haven’t seen a sunset like this before, even on a beach. Guess this place is somewhere in the hills. There are trees everywhere or rather forest, if looked closer you can see something blue.

What’s that blue thing? It’s spreads like a flat line. I looked even closer.

OMG that’s a beach... That really is a freaking beach......

I love beach..... I love beach....... I love beach..... I am literally squealing inside my head.

But I was brought back to reality by the sound of a door being slammed. I turned to face a grinning Sid.

“You know, you were always special in your own way, but now you really have an effect on him than before.”

I flickered at his assertion

“I have heard this ‘special’ thing previously, yet ‘effect on him’ is new. Could you, if it’s not too much trouble, expand those things for me?”

He shrugged

“It’s not up to me to tell.”

“Then??”

“You’ll know...”

That is it? I planned to drive him further, but he strolled and sat on the floor close to the love seat. Hmmm, strange!

I followed his signal and put myself close to him. I need to use my chance appropriately to crush out all the data from him.

“I really can’t understand how a bold girl like you was kidnapped easily. Adrian told me you were so easy to take.”

I gasped, he didn’t just say that.

“I was not easy to take, they were just too hard to handle.”

He looked at me seriously and then burst out laughing.

“You are hilarious”

He murmured, clutching his stomach. I send him a glare. Though it didn’t stop him from laughing, it subsided.

Also, I think his chuckling is infectious on the grounds that I ended up grinning back at him.

If, only if, I am going to be here for long, then I am sure he will be my partner in crime.

“So tell me about yourself, only if you can trust me that is”.

At this moment he’s lying on floor putting his legs on top of the bed; he looked like a little child, while I sat folding my legs and inclining my back on the love seat.

“What about me?”

“About your life, your school, etc., etc., etc.”

I grinned, it’s been quite a while since I have opened up to somebody and I truly need to do it.

“So where do I start?”

“Why not start from the beginning?”

“O.K. but hold your questions till I finish. Do you get me?”

“Yes, my lady.”

I sighed and then started to go back to my past.

“I’m Atarah Davidson and I turned 18 yesterday. My parents Raphael Davidson and Lilian Davidson kicked the bucket when I was one-year-old. I don’t recollect seeing them but got their photographs.”

I gave him my chain, which has both my parent’s image. They don’t look anything like me as the two of them are so wonderful, in contrast to my ratty appearance. He inspected it briefly; I swear I saw something streak through his eyes as though remembering them, yet soon he covered it. Then he gave the chain back, which I set securely on my neck. I don’t know why, but it always gives me a protective feeling.

“Continue...”

“I’m certain my story is going to exhaust you.”

“Oh, I’ll take the risk.”

“Hmmmm, so where did I stop, yeah, my parents passed away when I was one-year-old, it was some car crash or something, I don’t know exactly nor I want to know about it. I was brought up by my grandparents. They were not so close to me. It felt like I am an extra burden to them. When I turned 16, they started to leave me alone. I don’t know where they went, even when I asked they didn’t bother telling me. My school life was normal, I didn’t have many friends. So when I left the school, apart from my degree, I had nothing gained. I started my college last week, didn’t make any friends yet.”

“So where’s your grandparents now?”

“I don’t have the foggiest idea. They were gone nearly for a month. I shouldn’t be shocked though, they were not even there for my graduation.”

“How did you end up here?”

He asked, playing with his hands in the air. He’s so boyish.

“That’s not a big story..... Day before yesterday was so tiring at my job”

“You are working?”

“Yeah, in a supermarket. So, you know I have an unpleasant habit of eating ice cream when I am exhausted. Unfortunately, I was exhausted in the middle of the night. So I went to my nearest ice cream shop. As you might have guessed already, I was followed by two silhouettes and finally kidnapped. I tried to resist, but in vain. So yeah, that’s the end of my life story. Like I said, it’s not much.”

“Hmmmm not bad, it was worth taking the risk.”
