Prologue

.....A last request.....

“Is it true a man dare not deny a friends dying wish?”

“I, dared not. I could not as my good friend lay in my arms a breath away from death.

“Please find her and take care of her, Promise me.” he whispered.

I had to appease his dying plea and I accepted to find and care for his daughter.

My name is Sir Gavin Auburd, and I am Lord of Ravinhurst. I am a legend on the battlefield. A feared knight and warrior. Men tremble in fear at the tip of my blade and woman beneath my touch.

All but one person did not fear me. A raven-haired beauty I swore to care for.

Her name is Brienna Du’Montclief. The daughter of my good friend Lord Hugh Du’Montclief. She is the sole heir to the thriving Forsythe keep and its vast outlying lands. A fortress in its own right.

Upon such a promise, I was entrusted with an unruly and mischievous young girl. She challenged my authority, defied my rules and was hell bent on avenging her father’s death.

It was a battle I wasn’t prepared for.

Who would have thought that the young brat that wared with my every decision, could turn into a sword wielding, defiant beauty with a quick mind and a determined spirit.

I find myself embroiled in a match of wills as I attempt to tame this impetuous avenging angel with her temper that knows no bounds.

Now, I am battling with my own growing desire for my beautiful charge.

Now, I find my self at the tip of her sword with my heart in hand at her mercy.

Because, this Rebellious Angel will be the death of me.

Jessie: I wrote a review on fanfiction but I thought it would be fitting to write on on here too :) This story was honestly stunning. I am a budding writer myself and to read this- to FEEL this- reminded me of why I am honoured to have this passion and drive for a craft that is just so raw and beautiful.

Usagi Kita: This story is emotional from beginning to end. You get to watch the characters struggle and grow, maturing in different ways so that they come to be the people they are meant to be. 263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Hudson: Your story was fantastic Erin! The Rising Sun was one of the first stories I read on Inkitt, and I have to say I don't regret the three to four days I spent pouring through the story.Probably the biggest strength I see in your writing is your characterisation of Eliana, Oriens, and the rest of th...

Ro-Ange Olson: Loved it and couldn't put it down. I really hope there is a sequel. Well written and the plot really moves forward.

: This is a very interesting book - mostly because the heroine is quite charming and well rounded, and has very real issues to manage in her life. Most of all,. I loved the view inside of the life of a South Asian girl/woman, the emotional self-talk, the customs and preferences, the expectations a...

Jenn Deering: This is a go-to story for when you're needing a little happiness in your life. It's well-crafted, and characters are true to their show-selves. The pace is right, there are minimal grammatical errors, and the plot is fresh.

PurpleInkling: Hippocrite is spelt hypocrite. Also it is an awesome story! A good one after so long. I was hoping someone would write a good fanficiton playing off what Ron said at the station. You are doing a remarkable job. It would have been interesting if Albus had also ended up in Ravenclaw though that mig...
