Sasha looks in the mirror and feels slightly nervous. Today is the big day. She’ll be officially Mrs. Anderson. In sounds so offiial, so definitive. Someone knocks on her door. It can’t be Damon, he slept in his father’s house last night, ’cause sleeping together on the night before your marriage means bad luck, can’t have that.

“Come in.” She says.

“Sasha? Can I talk to you for a second?” Her father looks around the door.

“Sure,” she gestures for him to come in.

“I wanted to apologise for my behaviour. I was too protective, too stubborn and I didn’t consider your feelings and needs. I am truly sorry, I didn’t want you to feel bad about us while starting the rest of your life today. I am sorry for being too much of an-”

“Alpha?” Sasha cuts in and raises an eyebrow with a smirk.

“I wanted to say something else, but yes, that too.”

Sasha holds out her hand and he helps her from her chair. “I have already forgiven you, dad. I know you were just looking out for me. I just wished you would have listened more.” She sighs, “though I guess I need to be grateful too. Thanks to your behaviour I eventually found my mate, so a good thing came from it.”

Her father nods and smiles lightly. “Are you happy, sweetheart?”

“I am, I couldn’t be more happy than I am now.”

“Good.” Her father turns to leave.

“Dad,” he stops dead in his tracks and turns slowly.

“Yes?” His brows questioningly furrowed together.

“Would you like to give me away?”

Her dad blinks. He blinks another time and then looks confused when he raises his hand and rubs in his eyes.

“I’d love to, sweetheart.” His voice breaks, but he tries to hide it. The big bad Alpha can’t cry, can he?

The hall has transformed into a beautiful wedding venue. White linen curtains hang loosely on the ceiling. Chairs are placed in rows with a path with a red carpet in between. At the other end is a raised platform with two chairs and a table.

Fredric stands in the middle of the platform and is talking to Damon, Christopher and Leonard. The rest of the Anderson and Harris families, together with her own family are already seated.

Sasha looks at her dad, and he winks. “Nervous?”

She nods, “a little bit.”

“You’ll be fine. Damon is a great man; he’ll be good for you.”

Someone scrapes his throat behind her. “Sorry, excuse me. We’re late, can we maybe pass?”

Sasha turns when she hears a voice that she knows so well. “Roy!” she exclaims and she hugs him tightly. “Are you here for me?”

Roy smiles, “Of course! Wouldn’t miss this for the world!” His gaze turns soft for a moment and he brushes a loose hair out of her face. “Despite everything, I still carry you close to my heart.”

Sasha smiles lightly, and she looks in his green eyes. “Don’t make me cry Roy, this is supposed to be a happy day.”

“I am happy for you.” Roy smiles.

“I am happy for you too, Roy. Now that you’ve found your mate, we can both be happy.”

Roy nods and looks to his right, where a proud Alpha Deborah smiles lovingly at him. He gives Deborah a quick kiss and then nods to Sasha’s father, before passing them and taking a seat inside the hall.

Sasha looks down the isle, her gaze goes up and rests on the man in the middle. She smiles, he looks radiant. His tux tightly fitted around his muscles, his long, dark hair slicked back and tied in a bun, and his beard neatly trimmed. He looks good, and he is all hers.

He smiles at something Christopher tells him and then his gaze falls on her. His smile falters, a look of amazement takes its place.

“Ready?” her father next to her asks.

Sasha nods, keeping her gaze locked with Damon’s. Whispers quiet down when they notice Damon’s look and they turn to see what’s happening. Then they all stand up, to let Sasha walk down the isle.

Fredric clears his throat, looking at both Damon and Sasha with a bright smile. “We are gathered here today, not to witness the beginning of what will be, but rather what already is! We do not create this marriage, because we cannot. We can and do, however, celebrate with Damon and Sasha the wondrous and joyful occurrence that has already taken place in their lives, and the commitment they make today.”

Damon takes her hand and keeps holding it. Stealing a glance every once in a while. His eyes are bright, proud, and full of love, full of emotion.

“True marriage is more than joining the bonds of marriage of two persons; it is the union of two hearts. It lives on the love you give each other and never grows old but thrives on the joy of each new day. Marriage is love. May you always be able to talk things over, to confide in each other, to laugh with each other, to enjoy life together, and to share moments of quiet and peace, when the day is done. May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness and a home of warmth and understanding.”

“Do you Damon Leroy Anderson accept Sasha Krane as your soulmate and one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for her in times of need, to soothe her in times of pain, and to support her in all endeavours, big and small.”

“I do.”

“Do you Sasha Brenna Krane accept Damon Anderson as your soulmate and one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for him in times of need, to soothe him in times of pain, and to support him in all endeavours, big and small.”

“I do.”

Fredric continues. “You have for each other a golden ring. This most precious of metals symbolizes that love is the most precious element in your life together. The ring has no beginning and no ending, which symbolizes that the love between you will never cease. You place these rings upon each other’s fingers as a visible sign of the vows which, this day, have made you husband and wife.”

Christopher takes a step forward and hands Damon a little box. Damon opens the box and takes the smallest out. Christopher takes the box back as Damon takes Sasha’s hand in his, sliding the ring in her finger. “I give you this ring, as a token of my eternal love, as I give to you all that I am, and accept from you, all that you are.”

Christopher hands Sasha the little box and she takes Damon’s ring out. Damon places his hand in hers, and with shaky fingers, she slides the ring on his finger. “I give you this ring, as a token of my eternal love, as I give to you all that I am, and accept from you, all that you are.”

“By the power vested in me as Alpha of the Grey Mountains Pack, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss.”

Damon wraps an arm around her waist and bends forward, dipping her and she laughs when he kisses her. He pulls her straight and smiles.

“I’d like to ask the bride and groom to step forward and sign their marriage license.” Both Sasha and Damon sign the license and take their seats. “Now, witnesses step forward and sign the marriage licence.” Christopher and Leonard both step forward, Leo winks at Sasha before he signs.

Fredric signs the license too, before he steps in front of them again, gesturing for both of them to turn to their audience. “Family and Friends, I present to you Mr and Mrs Damon and Sasha Anderson.”

Damon leans over and whispers in her ear, “You’re officially mine now, you’re carrying my name and my child.” She smiles, turns her head and he kisses her again. “I love you, my sweet little mate.”
