Epilogue

[Avery’s POV]

“Penny for your thoughts?” Ace asked me.

“How about a dollar?”

“Nah,” he shook his head. “Just keep it to yourself,”

“You suck,”

“I know,”

“You should be thankful that you look like your brother,” I pointed out. “Or else, I would smack the living daylights out of you. I don’t really fancy smacking my boyfriend,”

“Too scared to hurt Colt, huh?” he chuckled. “You tried to kill him once before you know,”

“Yeah,” I smiled whilst remembering that day. “Good times,”

Ace was driving us to the house with the use of the car given to them by Joe. I was living with them, actually. Joe and Matt insisted that I should stay with Colton, Ace and their sister. As for my mo—Melanie, she flew to another country after she signed the divorce papers Joe filed. I didn’t know what country she went to but I didn’t bother enough to figure that out. I was happy with my life now. Why? Because she wasn’t here to make my life a living hell anymore.

As I hopped out of the car, I immediately went inside my new home. Our senior year would start in a few weeks, and as for Colton and I, we’ve already been together for two months. “Where have you been?!” that was the first thing I heard from my boyfriend right after I stepped inside the house.

“Outside?” I mocked. “Relax, Colton, I was with Ace,”

“That’s the problem!” he yelled. “I thought you cheated on me with him,”

I stared at him for a moment to see if he was joking. But when I saw complete seriousness in his eyes, I started to laugh loudly. “Why are you laughing?” Ace asked as he stepped inside the house next.

“Your brother thought that I was cheating on him with you,” I answered whilst still laughing.

Ace looked at me for a moment before laughing the hell out of his guts too. “You’re so funny, Colt. I really wish that would happen, you know?”

“This is not funny,” Colton frowned. “Where have you been?”

“To buy you a present, silly,” I walked towards him and pecked his lips, though I knew for myself that I didn’t really buy something for him. I just helped Ace.

“Your voices are so loud!” Kelly complained playfully as she made her way down the stairs. Kelly was a gorgeous girl and she’s just a year younger than us. Kelly was the girl Matt had sex with. Colton and Ace knew about that, but they told me that they let it passed with a beating because Matt didn’t know that they were cousins at first.

Tomorrow was Colton’s birthday. And of course, it was Ace’s birthday to me. But Colton’s birthday was what mattered to me the most. We planned do a lot of things tomorrow with Emma, Leon, Leo, and Colton’s best friend, Tucker. Kierlan and Patrice never did really like Colton. We didn’t hang out in school that much anymore.

As for the whole group excluding the two, they became very fond of each other. And yeah, Emma and Leo are now together. Leon’s got his eye on a diner girl just in town. Ace? You wouldn’t even believe me even if I told you.

Ace was now King of Harkins Academy, replacing Colton. He played with girls’ hearts. He doesn’t consider himself as a sex addict, but he somehow fits the category in my opinion. But nothing changed. He was still the Ace I knew, he just turned into a playboy.

Wait, there’s still Tucker. Our group hangs out almost every day and there was one reason why Tucker’s always so excited of our little getaways. He got his eye on Kelly and in all honesty, I think that they would really make a great couple.

Colton and I was lying down on our bed. He was raising our intertwined hands in the air for the both of us to see. The lights were off but a weak light was illuminating from the window on the right side of the wall.

“Do you see us forever, Colton?” I asked him. I wasn’t too fond of calling him Colt. The group calls him Colt, but me? I wanted to keep everything special. I wanted myself to be the only one out of the group to call him by his full second name. I sometimes called him Aiden to tease him. He didn’t like the name but I wondered why he put A and A in the bracelet?

I now figured out why.

He didn’t want me to know that it was him who gave it to me at first.

“No,” he said and I frowned, though he couldn’t see. “I see forever in you,”

“Wha—“

“I can’t imagine living my life without you,” he explained. “Even if you love somebody else, I’ll make myself be a better guy than him,”

“You sure you can do that?” I chuckled. “And what if I don’t love you anymore?” I asked though I doubt it that it would come to that. Colton fills eighty percent of my heart and twenty for my friends.

“Easy,” even though I couldn’t see him, I knew he was smiling. “I’ll make you love me again,”

I knew with his answer, he was ready for his present. There was a moment of silence between us until I broke it. “Make love to me, Colton,”

“What?” he brought our hands down on the bed and sat up.

“Make love to me,” I sat up too. “It’s a favor for me and as well as a present for you,”

“What if you aren’t ready?”

“You complain too much,” I rolled my eyes and pulled him for a kiss. He went on top of me and he pulled away. Before he could even mutter a word, I beat him to it. “I love you, Colton. I can’t really imagine doing this with someone other than you,”

“You sure?” he asked.

I nodded and asked, “No bets?”

“Just love,” and he leaned in to kiss me once again.
