Chapter 37

Blaire

We were on our way to the airport. Everyone's mood was very somber for the remainder of the 20-minute drive. Avery was finally leaving us to start his 20 city tour. His album was doing amazing. He was at the top of the charts and his tickets were already sold out in most of the cities. He was starting his tour in New York and ending it in Atlanta. We all wanted to go but life on the road is hard especially for kids. I didn't want Maddie to miss school and I didn't want to break up their normal routine. Besides, I have a company to run and I couldn't put any more work or stress on David or Misha.

We pulled up to the private terminal and Avery got out of the car first to get Aiden. I got out and tried to get Maddie to get out on the passenger side. She just sat there with her arms folded and a scowl on her face.

"Get out of this car, little girl," I demanded.

"No! I don't want daddy to go." She pouted.

Avery shook his head and handed Aiden to me.

"I got her," he said, opening the car door.

He said something to her and she got out of the car. It's so unfair how they listen to him with no problems. Maddie grabbed her dad's hand and we headed inside with Avery's entourage trailing behind. We went to the private waiting area and I greeted everyone. It was nice to see Nick, Myles, Kai, Drew, and Zaevion, his stage manager. There were also his DJ and tour manager with him. He usually didn't travel with this many people but it was a big tour and he needed all the help.

While his team was all on the plane waiting, Avery was saying goodbye to our kids. Maddie was bawling and I was trying to keep it together. I'm really going to miss him. He kissed Aiden and put him down. Then he came over to me and pulled me close to him. He kissed me passionately. Then tears I was holding back were streaming down my face.

"Bee, don't cry. How many times have I been on tour? It's just 10 weeks. I'll call every day. We'll see each other in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, okay?” he said, wiping my tears.

"I know. It never gets any easier. I'm going to miss you... Just be safe. I love you," I cried.

"I love you too... Well, I have to go. Be careful at work," he said, holding my hand.

We kissed one last time. My heart ached to let him go. At least we are leaving on good terms. We talked and got through our problems just like we've always done. He let my hand go and then I watched him walk to the jetway. I grabbed my babies' hands and told them to wave bye to their dad. After the plane took off, we headed to the car. I buckled them in and headed home.

"Mommy, when can I see daddy again?" she asked.

"In four weeks. We all are going to fly to Los Angeles to see daddy perform on the big stage. He's going to call us every day so we won't miss him."

"That's so far away, mom. I- I want my daddy. I want to go with him now," she cried.

“Da-Da,” Aiden whined.

"I know, but it's his job. It makes him happy. You want daddy to be happy right?"

"Yes," she whispered.

I glanced back and saw the sadness on my children's faces. I decided not to go home and take them to HippoHopp, an indoor playhouse, to cheer them up. I ordered them some food then I watched them play for a while. They seemed happy again. They were worn out by the time we got home. So, I got them bathed and ready for bed. Avery FaceTimed us and read a bedtime story to them. I wanted to talk to him longer, but he had rehearsals and I had to get ready for work.

After I dropped off Aiden at my mom's and Maddie's at school, I went straight to my office. After my office was vandalized it was quickly put back together. I didn't want to be bothered today and honestly, I didn't trust anyone here anymore. William went back to New York and according to the investigator he wasn't involved with the messages, videotape, or the vandalism. Harlow was also off the hook as well. She just came back and we apologized to her. She told me she was thankful that I gave her a chance and believed her. She's working with me as my temp assistant while my assistant, Lenora, is out on maternity leave. She won't even go near a computer. She basically handles calls and paperwork. I don't completely trust her yet. As the saying goes keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Though Jael was also not found out to be the stalker, she was fired for incompetence. She was almost a year behind in her work. I couldn't believe it took so long for anyone to catch that. I had to get my company in order. I couldn't allow that to happen again. I didn't want the environment to be hostile and toxic, I just wanted everyone to do their work effectively and efficiently.

Since I still didn't have a clue about who was that was harassing us, that had me more on edge. I kept my eyes open and I remained ready for anything. So far nothing happened. There were no more messages or videos. Misha and Gabrielle tried their best to make me comfortable and promised to keep an eye out for me too.

I was a bit more relaxed in the office. Work became a distraction to temporarily take my mind off my husband. I really missed him. The calls, texts, and phone sex just weren't enough. I needed some time with him. I just couldn't wait two more weeks. The kids would be coming to Los Angeles, so we wouldn't get alone time anyway. So, I decided to surprise him in New Orleans. I called Kai and asked her to help set it up. The plan was for me to wait in his room and surprise him after his show. I'd be with him from Thursday to Sunday and come home early Monday morning. I couldn't wait.

My parents happily agreed to watch the kids. I took an Uber to the airport and got on my first commercial flight in a long time. The almost two-hour flight seemed longer to me. I guess I was so eager to see Avery. As soon as I landed, I called Kai.

"Hey, Kai! Where am I going?" I asked.

"Hey, Bee! We're staying at Windsor Court Hotel. They upgraded him to the Presidential Suite on the 22nd floor. Girl, it is amazing and bigger than my house. He's going to be so happy to see you. He has no idea. He's almost done with his show so he'll be there in about two hours. Tell the front desk your name and that I sent you. Call me if you have any problems."

"Okay. Thanks again for this."

"No problem. Just make sure he has enough energy to do his show on Saturday. I heard about you. You snatched his soul and put it in your pocket," she teased.

"Whatever, Kai. Love you." I laughed.

Love you too, sis.

We hung up and I headed outside with my small bag and purse, hoping no one recognized me. I was rarely recognized unless I was Avery anyway. I got another Uber to take me to the hotel. I went to the front desk and got a key to the room with no problem. I went up to his suite. Kai wasn't lying, this place is huge. It had a beautiful view of the city. It was already decorated with rose petals and candles. There were champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was so romantic. Kai really looked out for me.

I went to the bedroom to get sexy for my man. I showered and put on a very sexy black lace bodysuit. I did my hair and makeup. I put on a pair of lace thigh-high stockings and high heels to compliment my outfit. I felt sexy. I sat on the chair closest to the door patiently waiting for him. I couldn't wait to have his hands and lips all over me.

The door opened it I sat up and tried to look sexy for him. My heart was racing as I looked forward to seeing his reaction. But it wasn't my husband that walked through that door. My mouth dropped when realized who it was. I stood up ready for anything.

"What the hell are you doing here, Gabrielle?! How the hell did you get a key to my husband's room?" I spat.

She had an evil smirk on her face and had the nerve to be dressed like a stripper in my man's room.

"I'm sorry you had to find out like this. I tried to give you a warning. Well, Angela did a lot of the warnings for me." She smirked.

"So, it was you? Why?”

It really hurt that she would do this to me. I liked her, considered her as a friend. I went to bat for her so she could keep her job when we downsized.

"Yes, b!tch, it was me. Angela and I sent the messages. Her dislike for you made it easy to get her to do what I wanted. Oh, Misha told me anything I wanted to know. Her stupid ass didn't even know she's the reason I was able to pin it on Harlow. It's a shame because I like Harlow. And we fu*ked up your office too. I sent that videotape so everyone could see how much of a whore you really are. You don't deserve Avery, you never did. You knew how much I liked him. You even gave me hope that I had a chance and I changed everything about myself, so he would want me just for you to take him from me. Now, I'm going to finally get rid of you and be his forever,” she ranted.

I was almost shaking in anger. This crazy hoe caused so much stress and drama for Avery and me. I guess today was the day I was going to jail for murder. She was going to catch these hands and more. I quickly took off my heels and tied my hair up.

"Hell naw! I don’t know what you thought, but I don’t play about my husband. You are really crazy and I'm about to beat the crazy out of yo ass!" I spat.

She screamed and ran as I quickly lunged for her. I grabbed her by her hair and yanked her down to the ground. She kicked me in my stomach with her high heels and clawed at my arms. Then she took a swing at my face. It hurt so bad and that pissed me off even more. I slammed her head on the marble floor and got on top of her and started punching her in her face over and over again until I saw blood. I was starting to get that crazy high feeling and starting to black in and out. The next thing I know, I'm getting pulled off of her by someone and restrained. I'm trying my hardest to fight them off of me. It's getting harder and harder to fight, so I gave up.

"Blaire! Blaire! Look at me," the male voice said.

I felt dazed. I tried my best to focus and when I did I realized that I was in Avery's arms. My head and my stomach were killing me.

"Bee, can you hear me?" he said.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Why is Gabrielle here and why were you trying to kill her?" he asked.

I became more aware of what was going on. Drew was holding my legs, so I couldn't get up. Then I noticed Nick trying to help Gabrielle.

"It was her! She's the stalker. Angela helped her," I said.

"Gabrielle? Angela?! What?" Avery said in disbelief.

"I was in here waiting to surprise you. She came in here claiming that you two were together. She admitted everything. I was so angry that I attacked her," I explained.

They both let me go and helped me up. Avery looked over me. He gently touched my cheek and it was sore. He looked down and I noticed that my arms were bleeding a little. He kissed me softly and excused himself. Then he went to grab his phone. I guess he was calling the police. Gabrielle was still knocked out on the ground. Nick didn't seem too worried, so I guess she was still alive. Drew left and came back with towels and some ice. He handed a few towels to Nick then walked to me.

"You are a fighter, Bee. I don't think you need security at all," Drew teased as he placed the ice on my face.

"Is she alive?" I asked.

"She's fine. You just knocked her lights out. If we didn't stop you when we did... I don't think she would be alive," he said with a concerned expression.

I hate that I get can like that. I get so angry and I lose control and it gets to the point that I don't know what I'm doing anymore. It's dangerous. I already killed someone and I didn't want to do that again.

"I could have killed her? Am I going to jail? What's wrong with me?" I asked as the tears flowed down my cheeks.

“Aww, Bee.” Drew pulled me in for a hug. “You’re not going to jail. It was self-defense... You have experienced a lot of trauma recently. I think you might have PTSD and that's expected with what happened to you. But I'm no expert. Just talk to someone, okay?”

“Okay,” I cried.

He might be right. The way I attacked Anastasia and now Gabrielle wasn't normal. I needed to talk to my therapist to make sure. He told me to sit down and he started to clean up the scratches on my arm. That's when I realized how I was dressed and tried to cover myself. He draped a towel over me and put bandages on me.

Avery finally came back into the living room. He made me stand up and then he made me sit on his lap. We just sat there in silence for a few moments. Then the police and medics came in. They took Gabrielle away. Then we explained to the officers that she's been stalking and harassing us for months. And she found a way to get into Avery's suite and I defended myself. The officer asked us to fill out a report and took pictures of my bruise on my face and scratches on my arms. I was relieved that I didn't have to go to the police department.

After everyone left and the room was cleaned up, the keys and locks were changed. Avery took me to the bathroom. He ran me a bath. He helped me out of stockings and bodysuit and helped me get into the deep soaking tub. He sat on the edge of the tub and just stared at me.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine... This was not how I thought tonight would go, ” I said, trying to sound upbeat.

"I know. I'm still happy that you're here."

"Still can't believe all that happened.”

"It's over now. She's gone... I knew she had a thing for me, but I’m still shook that it's Gabrielle. Honestly, I'm not surprised about Angela being involved. You know it was this moment in the elevator at the office. It was weird and I had a gut feeling, but I didn't listen to it."

"Angela never liked me and I figured it was because of you. But Gabrielle? I never thought she was that crazy and obsessed with you. I don't even know how she got a key to your room. What did she think you were going to do when you saw her in your room?"

"I don't know.” He shrugged. “I'm glad I never have to find out. I'm just glad it's over and you’re safe... Enjoy your bath, baby. I'm going to make some calls to Alex and my lawyers."

"Okay."

He left and I submerged myself in the water for a few moments. I came up for air and grabbed a face towel to clean my body. I rinsed off with the handheld shower attachment. I got out and dried off my body and hair. I brushed my teeth. My scratches weren't too bad. My cheek was turning purple and it stung. I went to my bag and found some aspirin and took it. Then I went to the closet and looked in Avery's bag for a T-shirt to wear.

I was sore and exhausted, so I got in bed. I don't even remember falling asleep. I woke up the next morning with Avery wrapped around me. As I laid in bed with the love of my life, I prayed that all things that made me fall apart were forever behind me.
