Chapter 12

I entered her room and stood there until she come in. I realised how weak she was when I’m near her and I was going to use that against her.

When the door opened, I greeted, “Hey Amanda.”

“Asher, what are you doing in my room?” She asked angrily.

As I moved closer, her angry demeanour cracked and she started looking panicked.

Amanda’s POV

When he started closer, his delicious scents if fresh berries and lilac along with a forest like scent. I couldn’t think when he was so closer to me. When he was only left with three steps until he was near me, I mustered the strength to say something, but he was already right in front of me.

“W-What are you doing?” I stutter, moving back until my back hit the wall, our lips only centimetres apart.

“Kissing you,” he murmurs.

“B-but we’re not a couple, we shouldn’t be doing this, i-it’s wrong.”

“We don’t need to be a couple to do this, besides, it’ll feel really good,” he said huskily.

Regaining the last bit of sense I had left, I flattened my hands on his chest, trying to push him away, but that seemed to turn him on even more, since right after, he claimed my lips.

Melting into his touch, I moaned, running my fingers through his hair, pulling and tugging as he kissed the soft spot on my neck. Before I knew it, we were both naked and I was in the bed underneath him.

I hated that I couldn’t say no to him and always gave into his touch. I was doing just fine without him, but now I was reminded of that pain again. I quickly got off the bed and started to get dressed.

“Hey, are you leaving?” he asked.

“Oh you noticed that, huh?” I said sarcastically.

“But I thought-”

“That I had forgiven you because my stupid body can’t say no to yours? You thought that everything was fine just because you know how I feel about you? Well, you’re wrong!” I spat out.

“Really, after what we just did you’re leaving!” he yelled.

“Now you know how it feels'” I shouted back and his face feel, realising that this was exactly what he done to me two weeks ago.

“Look, I’m sorry Amanda. Please, I’m begging you, please forgive me,” he begged, his face looking so tortured.

“No! Not after what you did. Two weeks ago, I was a different person. I would have forgiven you just like that, but not now. I’m doing just fine without you and if I remember correctly, you’re the one who told me to move on, so I advise you to follow your own advice,” I said and zipped my pants then left the room with a bang, masking my scent in case someone I knew bumped into me.

Asher’s POV

I was so angry.

Angry at myself for thinking that Amanda would forgive me for what I did to her.

Angry at her for not being able to forgive me even though I’m so sorry.

Angry at the world for being so big, so much that it would take what would seem like eternity if I went to find my mate.

Angry at the moon goddess for not granting me the wish of having Amanda as my mate.

As I walked aimlessly, I spotted Justin who was seated on a large tree root.

“Hey, Justin,” I greeted, sitting on the soil next to him.

“Hey, Ash.”

We sat in silence before I let out a heavy sigh.

“What’s up with you,” Justin asked.

Since he was a close friend, I told him everything, from liking Amanda to loving her, to sleeping with her, twice and constantly arguing.

“I don’t know what to do, man. I love her and I don’t want to lose her.”

“Well, fighting with someone you love is never easy. Take me and Zhen, two weeks ago, we were great, then we had a fight and now we’re not talking to each other, though I think we’re still good,” he said.

“Good? How is her trying to hook up with me good?” I asked him.

“Well, the keyword in that sentence is trying. She’s trying to sleep with other men to get back at me, but she can’t and really, I think that’s a step forward from where we were before. Anyway, Amanda loves you back right? So help her remember why she loves you,” he said.

“I’m hot. I show her that every time we see each other.”

He laughed then shook his head, “Okay, then. If you think that’s why she loves you, then give her some space. Make her realise how much she loves you and she’ll come around,” he advised.

“Is that what you’re doing with ZhenZhen?”I asked.

“No, that doesn’t work on her. ZhenZhen doesn’t come running, she expects the man to do that. I’m going to spoil her rotten until she forgives me since this time I know I messed up,” he said with a soft smile.

“Well, I hope it works out for the both of you. Thanks for your help. I feel much better now,” I thanked and headed back to the pack house.

While talking to Justin and getting really good advice, I decided to go with my plan. Right now I had her body, her heart and her wolf on my side. It’s now time to get her brain on my side and I’d finally have all of her. How? By using my allies against her.

Today I was in charge of training the warriors and one of those were Amanda. I headed to the pack grounds and there, I greeted the warriors and gave them a few drills to do then called Amanda to the front to be my partner and demonstrate to everyone the techniques I wanted them to master.

Before I did anything, I took off my shirt and threw it by the nearby beach. While I enjoyed the lustful stares given to me by other unmated she-wolves, I most enjoyed Amanda’s reaction, her eyes dilated and her mouth opened a bit. When we demonstrated the techniques, she was sloppy, but everyone got it. She kept getting distracted by my bare upper body and after a while, I told everyone to pair up and practice together.

I went behind Amanda and held her wrists helping her throw a punch, though I could tell if I let go, her hands were going to drop.

“I know what you’re doing,” she whispered.

“Is it working?”

“You know it is,” she mumbled, clearly annoyed.

In the end, after training, we ended up in bed. It was great of course and I was glad that she had forgiven me. She hadn’t said it out loud but she had.

She let out another heavy sigh and said, “I hate you, Asher Sinclair.”

With a smile, I replied, “I hate you too, Amanda King.”

She rolled her eyes and got dressed in front of me then left, but not after shooting me a glare.

I chuckled and took a shower then changed into fresh new clothes and headed to my office to complete some work since I was finally happy that she had forgiven me. I knew we couldn’t go back to being friends, because if we hadn’t noticed, we clearly were not just friends.

Amanda’s POV

I gave into him again. This time I’m not that mad sine I had forgiven him. I was just frustrated now. Were we back to being friends? Or were we now friends with benefits?

Letting out an exasperated sigh, I entered my parents’ house and sat at the kitchen island where mum was preparing a meal and I greeted her. I sat there in silence for a while, just sorting out through my thoughts.

“Mum? If I were to have a choice mate, would you be okay with it?” I asked her.

“No, I wouldn’t, so be patient and wait. You should listen to me for once in your life and wait. You’re still twenty-two, so you’ve got time,” she said coldly.

“Mum, I am a good kid and you know it. And I always listen to you,” I said, hurt by my mother’s behaviour towards me.

“If you were a good kid, a nine year old boy would have lived to see thirteen!” She yelled and I froze.
