"The key to success
Is to focus on
Goals, not obstacles"

•Alexis' POV•

Blake pinched the bridge of his nose as he let out a frustrated sigh.

He stared at all three of us in his office as he glared at Cassidy and the guards behind us.

"Let me get this straight," he started, "You guys just suddenly got into a crazy catfight?"

I nodded my head.

"Seems about right."

He rolled his eyes while giving me a small smile. He turned his attention to his stepmother who let out a scoff.

He narrowed his eyes at her.

"Now, tell me, Cassidy. What are you doing here in my house."

He shook his head.

"No. No. Let me rephrased that. Who the HELL let her in?! Hm!"

The guards behind are stiff as they look at one another. One guy in the line was shaking as he nervously looks around.

"I don't get all day."

Still, no one said anything. Blake lean back in his chair.

"Everyone besides you three, wait in the gym room. I'll talk with you guys after I'm finished with these three."

They bow their heads saying "yes, sir" before scrambling out of the room. The door shut with a loud crack.

"So. Cassidy, why are you here? I know my father wouldn't have let you come over without letting me know."

She straightens up as she glared at him.

"I am your mother-"

"Step-mother," Blake corrected her.

She rolled her eyes.

"And? I'm still your mother!"

Blake opened his mouth to speak but Cassidy interrupted him.

"I came here informing you that the wedding is still happening. I don't care if she is your 'fiancée' you WILL still be marrying Valerie."

My heart suddenly stopped. I look at Blake, hoping this was just a nightmare. But all he had was anger in his eyes. I let out a sigh, he isn't getting married.

I think

Blake's fist slams the desk, shutting her up. His eyes darken as a storm formed in his eyes.

"No way in hell am I marrying her."

"Why not! She will be a better wife than she," she jabbed a finger at me, "will ever be."

That hurts...

"How would you know. Your whole marriage with my father is a disaster. How would you know anything about marriage," Blake said in a deadly calm voice.

Cassidy stood straight up in a flash causing the chair she was sitting on to fall backward. Her face held fury as her noses flared.

All I heard was a bunch of hm, ha, hm coming from her nose. Weird, I know.

"Don't you are disrespecting me!"

Blake crosses his arm across his chest while he narrowed his eyes at me. I look at Ashley with a worried look.

"And why so? Who's more powerful. Who are you to tell me what to do? Last time I check my mother was the one allowed to tell me what to do not you."

"ah. But I am married to your father so I have the power to tell you what to do!"

He smirked.

"That's where you are wrong."

Her face fell.

"What do you mean?"

"My father is filing a divorce. He realized how much of a stuck-up bitch you are."

I snorted.

About time, dude.

Stun she stared at him with her enormous lips hanging.

"W-what!? No! All my hard-wor-" she stopped herself like she was afraid she said too much.

"All your hard what?"

She stomps her foot.

"Nothing! But, I'm telling you this, you are getting married to Valerie! And that's final! I already announced that to everyone. You better show up."

She turned to leave before glaring at me.

"You better watch your back. You won't be so lucky next time."

With that, she left without a single word or glanced at one of us.

I stare at the door digesting the words that Cassidy said. How did she know?

I turned and look at Ashley.

"I-I'm just going to call Peter. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me..."

She gave me one more look before leaving the room.

I locked eyes with him.

"Yes, Blakie Bear?"

He groans.

"I hate that nickname."

I gave him a lopsided smile as I walk over to him and hugged him.

"You're not actually getting married, right?"

He nuzzled his nose on my neck. He shook his head as he hugged me tighter.

"No. The only person I will ever get married to is you. Alexis Carter, soon to be Mrs. Peterson."

I blushed.

"But she already told everyone..."

"Well then. They can be disappointed for all I care. No way am I marrying anyone besides you."

I pull back as I gave his lips a small peck. I stare into his eyes as he stares back at me.

"I love you, " I told him.

He grinned.

"I know you do."

He pecks my nose. I let out a giggle causing his grin to be wider.

"And I love you too."
