Chapter Eight| Eden

"Small." I can hear him follow behind me, as I aggressively wipe away the tears that are free falling.

"Go away!" I cry out and enter my bedroom. Before I can slam the door, Theo is pushing his body weight onto it. "Leave!" He manages to get in.

"Small, please." I look up at him in hurt and then make my way over to my bed and throw myself on top of the covers, burying my head in the pillow. "Please don't be mad." I feel the bed dip and then he is cuddling me.

I clench my eyes shut and turn to face him. "Don't go." I whisper, raising my hand to touch the light stubble on his cheek. "Please."

"Keep you safe." He whispers back and I recoil away from him.

"I don't know what else to say then, Theodore." His lip trembles a little but he stops it by biting his lip. I have to close my eyes and a shaky breath escapes my mouth.

"Please don't hate me." He touches my arm and I flinch. "The bad people are going to come back for me."

"I won't let them!" I exclaim and stand up from the bed. "Just stay here with me, you're safe here." I throw my arms up in frustration.

Theo gets off of the bed after a couple seconds and towers over me. "Mine." He whispers, circling his arm around my waist and pulling me closer to his chest.

"W-What?" I stutter and he tightens his arm around me.

"Mine, small." He leans down and lays a gentle kiss on my cheek.

"Yours?" I lean back to look him in the eyes and watch him give me a small smile. "What about you?" I tilt my head and pout my lips.

"I'm yours." He points at himself and then to me and I feel the butterflies in my stomach, yet again.

"You'll stay?" I question hopefully, clenching his t-shirt. I hold back a whimper when he shakes his head, so I decide to step out of his arms. "Then I'm not yours and you're not mine. Honestly, Theodore, just leave." I wave my hand about and watch his eyes darken.

"Mine." He tries to grab hold of me again but I step further back. "Small?"

"Theodore if you're not going to stay, just stop." He staggers back and I watch him gulp, his Adam's apple bops up and down.

He slowly turns around and makes his way out of my room. Once the door has been shut, a whimper escapes my lips and then I'm full on sobbing.

I didn't realise how much Theo impacted my life until he decided he needed to leave.

I open up my eyes, which are probably all puffy from crying myself to sleep. I look at my alarm clock and see that it's nine in the morning. I check my phone and see that I have two missed calls from Lia.

I take a deep breath and then call her back.

"Girl, where are you? Is everything okay?" She rushes down the phone.

"Lia, erm.....I'm not feeling well. Will you be okay by yourself, today? I'll pay you double." I croak out and I hear her sigh down the other end.

"Eden, don't lie to me. What's really wrong?" She questions, her voice filled with concern.

"Theo left." I whisper.

"Oh, Eden, I'm sorry." She sighs. "Do you want me to come over after I close up?"

"No it's okay." I sit up in my bed and rub my eyes. "Call if you need anything, love you."

"Love you too, Eden." She then hangs up and I'm left in silence.

I get out of bed and tug at the end of Theo's t-shirt, that I decided to wear to bed. It still smells like him and I can feel my eyes start to well up.

Why couldn't he just tell me what was going on? Then I could of helped him, I would of protected him against whoever wanted to hurt him.

I walk out of my room and make my way down the stairs, a small yawn escaping my lips. However I pause on the last step when I see my front door is cracked open.

Fuck no.

I grab a photo frame from the wall and decide that I'll use it as a weapon. I slowly look around the house and come to the conclusion that it's empty. Everything is where it's meant to be, all my valuables are still in the same place.

I grit my teeth when I realise that Theo probably never shut the door after he left. I can't believe he actually put me in danger. I make my way to the front door and slam it close but my eyes widen when I hear a deep yelp.

What the hell?

I throw open the door and look down to see Theo sat on my doorstep, rubbing the back of his head. A huge part of me is relieved that he hasn't left but now I'm confused.

"Theo?" He stands up and rubs the back of his neck, looking at me cautiously. However once he sees I'm clad in his t-shirt, he releases a small growl, looks around the neighbourhood and then pushes me back into my house.

"Mine." He leans down and nuzzles his face in my neck.

"No, Theodore!" I shove him back and furrow my eyebrows at his behaviour.

"Theo, name." He furrows his eyebrows at the sound of me using his full name and then he steps forward, so I step back.

"Have you been out here all night? You said you were leaving Theodore." I sigh.

"Heart hurt when I tried to leave you." My heart flutters at his words. "I'm sorry, small." He looks down in shame.

"Please just tell me what's going on." I walk up to him and wrap my arms around his waist. He tenses at first, probably not expecting me to give him any affection but relaxes quickly.

I squeal when he picks me up, making me wrap my legs around his waist. I look down at him, both of our breathing heavy. I don't hesitate to lean down and kiss him on his lips. A groan escapes his lips and my eyes snap open when he sticks his tongue down my throat.

He squeezes my thighs and I relax and continue to kiss him. I pull away after a while, before things get too heated. He pouts his lips and walks us to the sofa, he sits down and keeps a tight hold of me, so I stay straddling his lap.

"I'm mad at you. Talk." I give him my best serious look but can't help but smile after.

He takes a deep breath. "Okay."
