Chapter Nineteen| Eden

"Theo!" I yell out in panic. "No, no, no!" I cry out.

"Small?!" Theo barges in my room but then freezes.

"My jeans don't fit!" I whimper, trying to do the button up. "I don't understand!" I aggressively take them off and throw them at the wall.

"Don't do that!" Theo scolds and I pout. "I thought there was something serious going on."

"But they don't fit, this is serious." I whisper in hurt and then begin to rummage through my wardrobe again. "It's your fault I've put on weight. This is what happens when you get a boyfriend!" He furrows his eyebrows at me.

"You'll always look beautiful, small." He looks me up and down and then licks his lips. I roll my eyes at his horny behaviour.

"Yeah, whatever." I roll my eyes and decide to put some leggings on instead. I turn back around to face Theo, who is frowning at me. "What?"

"Say you're beautiful."

"You're beautiful?" I furrow my eyebrows and he rolls his eyes.

"No, small. Say that you are beautiful." He sighs.

"I am beautiful." I quickly mumble and I watch him clench his jaw then raise his eyebrows. "I am beautiful." I say louder and watch him smile.

"Yes you are." He then picks me up and spins me around. "I love you." He whispers and then kisses the tip of my nose.

" I love you too." I gaze into his eyes and feel my heart warm. "I love you a lot!" I grin and he grins back.

"How is the baby, Lia?" I question as we all sit in her conservatory. I'm sat on Theo's lap and Lia and Zack are sat across from us.

"I've got a little bump, look!" She beams, lifting her top up a little and I smile as I see her little bump.

I feel Theo tense underneath me and I look at him to see he is looking at her with sad eyes. I grab hold of his hand and give him a reassuring smile.

"You okay?" I whisper in his ear and her furrows his eyebrows. "Theo?"

"I can't give you that." He whispers, his voice filled with sadness.

"Theo, stop worrying about it. It's fine." I kiss his cheek but his frown doesn't disappear.

"So how are you two lovebirds?" I turn my attention back to my best friend and smile.

"We're good." I nod and she furrows her eyebrows.

"Just good?"

"You better be looking after her, Theo." She playfully scowls at him but Theo doesn't get it.

"I always look after her!" He sits up, adjusting me on his lap.

"She's only joking, babe." I reassure him and rest my hand gently on his chest. I then stand up and hold my hand out to him. "Come on." He stands up and grabs hold of my hand. I look at Lia and she just gives me an understanding smile.

I lead Theo away from the couple and into the kitchen. I turn around and look up at him. "Talk to me."

"I want to make you happy." He reaches his hand up to touch my cheek. "But I can't do that." I step away and look at him, hurt by what he has said.

"Why do you always say things like this?" I throw my arms up in frustration.

"I can't give you a baby. Don't you want a baby?"

"Not right now Theo, no. I'm not going to stop loving you because you can't give me a baby." I smile gently.

"I want to give us a baby someday." He says in frustration and clutches his hair tightly. "I want a family."

"And we will eventually. We can adopt in the future." He shakes his head and I frown.

"I want to give you a baby." He repeats and I decide to give up trying to reason with him.

"Right." I nod. "Let's stop talking about this." I turn around and make my way back to the conservatory.

After our conversation there is a lot of tension in the air. I'm no longer sat on his lap but now I'm right on the opposite side of the sofa.

"You want some rosé, it's your favourite?" Lia questions, holding up a bottle and I nod my head.

"So, Theo?" Lia questions. I look at Theo whilst taking a sip from the wine glass. He gives Lia his attention. "You love Eden." She smirks.

"Always." He nods and butterflies erupt in my stomach. He then turns his head and looks at me, a serious look on his face.

"That is so cute!" Lia squeals. "I'm so glad Eden has found someone who cares about her." I give a tight lipped smile and look away.

"You okay, Eden?" Zack questions and I nod my head.

"Just thinking." I take another gulp of the wine.

"I'm okay." I slur, grabbing hold of the banister as I make my way up the stairs.

Theo hovers behind me, clearly worried I'm going to fall back.

I nearly did.

But I didn't.

"Last step." I cheer when I reach the top. I then turn to face Theo. "You haven't spoken to me since we spoke in the kitchen." I pout.

He just shrugs and ushers me to our bedroom. I flop on top of the bed and feel my head start to spin. I frown when Theo places his phone on the bedside table and then walks into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him. I sit up and stare at the door in shock.

I get up from the bed and knock on the door. "Theo?" I call out, but I can only hear the sound of running water. I sigh and decide to give him space.

I sit on the edge of the bed and look around the room in boredom. A couple minutes later, Theo walks out of the bathroom and walks over to me.

He lifts me up and walks us back into the bathroom. The smell of fresh soapy water fills my nose and I see he's filled up the bathtub.

"We're having a bath?" He simply nods his head.

I'm really worried about him.

He helps me strip out of my clothes and then he does the same to his own. He lifts me into the the warm water and then climbs in behind me, pulling me against his front.

"Why aren't you speaking?" I whisper, resting my head on his shoulder. I feel him shrug again and I clench my eyes in frustration. "Is it because of the conversation we had in the kitchen?" I feel him tense and I get my answer.

"You're going to leave me." He says, his voice cracking. "You should be with someone who can give you everything."

I tilt my head to look at him. "You are my everything, Theo. I meant what I said when we were in the hotel. Why don't you believe me?" I whisper and he smiles gently.

"You just deserve better." I feel myself starting to get angry at him.

"You're pushing me away. Stop being stupid, Theo." I roll my eyes and go back to resting against his chest.

"I'm not being stupid." He retorts.

"You've got an attitude Theo. You're working yourself up over something I've told you not to worry about!" I raise my voice and I feel his breathing start to quicken. "It's like you're not even listening to me."

"I do listen."

I scoff and decide to get out of the bathtub. The alcohol has long gone and I grab a towel wrapping it round my body.

"I told you it's okay that we can't have a baby, I told you there are alternative ways but you won't even accept that. I don't even know why we are talking about babies when we've known each other for two months." I hear him stand up, I turn around and watch the water run down his body.

"Why do you say it like that?" He questions as he steps out, his voice low.

"Like what?" I cross my arms over my chest.

"Two months is a long time." He takes a deep breath. "You've helped me live during these two months."

"And I will continue to do that, if you'll let me. Please stop worrying about all this baby stuff, please." He bites his lip and nods.

"There's something I need to tell you, small." He looks away in guilt and I feel my heart start to race.

"What is it?"

"I've done something really stupid."
