Moving

*A much shorter, little filler chapter before the end!!*

*6 months later*

“Lia, is that everything?” Dani asked, standing in the now empty room at her and Nathan’s house.

“Yep, I got the last box.”

“That wasn’t a lot of stuff, really.” She observed.

“Well, I didn’t really need much. I’m sorry I’ve been here so long; I really didn’t want to crash the whole newlywed vibe.” She apologized.

“You didn’t. You’ve barely even been here! I’m excited about the wedding redo this weekend though, we’ll get to do the newlywed thing all over again!” She giggled.

After the whole incident on their original wedding day, Nathan and Dani went ahead with the ceremony as Lia requested. They went off on their honeymoon while Lia returned home to heal. Toby was eventually located and arrested; Lia gave a statement to the police and had testified at his short trial, where he was sentenced to a lengthy time in prison. Upon returning home, Cody and Lia had made their relationship official and were spending much of their time together when not working. Everything was going well, Nathan and Dani returned from their honeymoon, and they all spent time together, even Lia spending a lot of time with her Dad. Now here they were finally getting Lia moved out of Nathan’s house, and instead of her own apartment, she was moving in with Cody in his cute little cottage in the country.

“You ready, babe?” Cody asked, smiling ear to ear as he stood in the doorway.

“Yes, sir, I believe that’s it.” Lia walked toward him, giving him a quick peck on the cheek.

“You act like she’s moving across the country or something.” Nathan fussed as Dani frowned.

“Now we can get down and dirty whenever and wherever.” He smiled.

“Oh God, Nathan! Stop!!” Lia groaned. “C’mon Cody, let’s let them do their thing.” She led him out of the house and hopped up into the truck full of her stuff. Cody following behind her. She waved to her brother and sister-in-law as they pulled away. Her heart was full and happy, and she hoped like hell it could stay that way for a change.

“Welcome Home!!” Cody cheered as they pulled into the driveway.

“I’m excited! I just hope you don’t change your mind and get tired of me.” Lia laughed, teasing.

“Never!” Cody scooped Lia up out of the truck and carried her into the house bridal style, Lia giggling the whole time. He brought her into what was now their bedroom and laid her gently on the bed. Despite it being months of them together, they still had not made love or had sex; Cody wanted to take it slow, considering everything Lia had been through. After all these months, Cody and Lia were ready to take that next step, now more than ever.
