I don't know what to do? How to make him feel better?
"Thanks for dinner, Baby. It was as delicious as Rain had said." I lightly chuckled.
"Pleasure Baby." He weakly smiled at me before looking at his hands in his, folded onto his lap.
I crawled on the bed and stayed behind his back before wrapping my arms around his shoulders. I laid my head on his shoulder and dropped my hands to his arms where I gently rubbed his arms.
"I want to say it's going to be okay but I don't think you'll even believe me. I doubt you'll even listen to me at this moment." I lightly chuckled.
"Please say it nonetheless." He weakly requested.
I climbed off the bed and bent down in front of him before grabbing his hands which seemed to lightly shake in my hands. My heart just broke at the uselessness I felt.
"Baby, look at me," I softly requested to which he did without hesitation. I nearly stepped back and gasped at the familiar, void, lifeless eyes that greeted me. They made me want to shiver at the emptiness in them," London, everything is going to be alright. I'm here for you if you need anything. I will help you as much as I can, with everything in my power."
He weakly smiled at me before willing me to sit down on his lap so I was straddling him.
My hands wrapped themselves comfortably around his waist as I laid my head on his shoulder. His hands suddenly wrapped themselves securely around my waist as he dug his face into my neck, making me move my arms up to his neck.
Wetness started dampening my neck, alerting me of his silent tears. I softly cooed at him and spoke sweet nothings into his ear to try and sooth him.
"It's my fault." He hopelessly said, breaking my heart into a million pieces.
"No Baby, it's not. Your mom has not been at her healthiest for years. She decided to take this treatment to get better, not only for herself but also you two. For her kids." I whispered.
"But still, I should have been here for her but I wasn't." He cried. He's so vulnerable at this time and sensitive, I don't even know what I can say to him to make him feel better than to show his support." I'm going to visit her tomorrow."
I already knew that he would want to, it was a given.
"I would have forced you to if you wouldn't," I lightly teased, making a light half-hearted chuckle leave his lips." I want to go with you if you'll let me. Even if I have to stay in the car."
"I wouldn't have it any other way," He said, his lips twitching on my shoulder." Thank you for coming with me, Baby. Thank you for all your support."
"Of course, my Love. That's what I'm here for." I reassured, placing a kiss onto his exposed shoulder.
A light knock, had us turning to the door as I got off his lap.
"Come in!" I called.
The door slowly opened as a small head poked itself through the door.
"Mommy, Daddy, may I sleep with you?" Emma asked with hopeful eyes from the door.
"Of course, Baby Girl." London weakly smiled.
Emma instantly ran into her daddy's arms, her being the daddy's girl she was. London effortlessly picked her up and put her on his lap.
"Daddy, why are you sad?" She asked with sad eyes as her little hands cupped London's cheeks.
London eyes filled with tears again before he answered," Well, Daddy's mom is in hospital so Daddy's very sad."
"Don't worry Daddy. Grandma will be okay." Emma enthusiastically reassured, wrapping her arms around London's neck and laying her head onto his chest in a hug.
"I hope so, Baby Girl." London whispered, wrapping his arms around the little girl's small figure.
"I know so Daddy!" She enthusiastically chirped, making a smile of pride lace my lips.
"Thanks for the positivity, Love." He smiled down at Emma," Now, I believe it's long past your bedtime, Princess. Go brush your teeth then bedtime."
"Okay, Daddy." She smiled before jumping off his lap and skipping out of our room.
"You know, I should be sleeping with Emma in the guest bedroom." I smiled from where I now comfortably laid.
He turned around and faced me with a predatory smile before caging me inbetween his arms. His large body hovered over mine in seconds with each arm on each side of me, holding him up.
"Not a chance. You're sleeping with me tonight." He huskily ordered before his lips captured mine. He lightly nibbled on my lips before pressing his lips onto mine, pouring his feelings into the kiss before breaking the kiss.
"Noted." I breathlessly, lazily agreed, just before the door opened, making London jump off of me.
"I'm done!" Emma excitedly announced.
"I can see that. Bedtime my Princess." London cooed as if nothing had just happened. He barely turned in my direction before sending me a quick wink that made my body turn to mush.
I crawled off the bed and made my way to the bathroom to take a short, warm shower. I got out in 10 minutes and applied some lotion before wrapping one of my towels that I had brought this side earlier around my body. It reached to my knees and was a beautiful light grey with fluffy tassels at the hems. I opened the door.
The room was filled with silence and London seemed to have disappeared.
I sighed and walked to my luggage. I pulled out a pair of knee length pajama pants and their matching navy blue pajama top and a pair of black underwear. I then opted to braid my hair into quick pigtails before before climbing on the bed next to Emma who instantly curled into me.
I placed a kiss on her forehead before cuddling her and drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
I stepped out of the shower with a sigh. Feeling to lazy to apply lotion onto my body, I put on my underwear and my long pajama pants and white vest.
I stepped out of the guest shower and back to my bedroom, to be met with complete silence. I slowly creeped towards the bed to be greeted by the sweet, adorable sight of both mother and daughter fast asleep. A smile laced my lips before I found myself placing a kiss on Emma's forehead then Lenora's.
Lenora suddenly opened her hazel, sleep glazed orbs and looked at me.
"Hey," She sleepily greeted.
"Hey Baby, I'm sorry for my disturbing your sleep." I softly apologised.
"It's alright, I wasn't deep into sleep yet." She sleepily chucked, her hazel orbs barely staying open.
I couldn't help but to smile in admiration and adoration for this woman. She was literally my own personal angel.
"I love you, Baby." I found myself saying, bending down and planting a kiss onto her sleepy smile.
"I love you too." She sleepy said against my lips before moving away and yawning.
"Sleep my Love. Goodnight." I softly said.
She smiled at me before closing her eyes and murmuring," Goodnight."
I made my way to the door and switched off the lights before carefully heading back to the bed.
I jumped in behind Emma, so she was inbetween us before wrapping a protective arm over both Emma and Lenora. A smile of contentment laced my lips as sleep took over my tired body.
I sighed as I pulled on a pair of light sky blue knee length jean shorts and a white V-neck t-shirt. I paired my look with some diamond studded earrings and my white Adidas sneakers. I moisturised my hair before running a comb through it and pulled it cup with a plain white clipper. I tucked my fringe behind my ear and secured it with a small, black pin.
I applied some clear lip balm to complete my look before heading downstairs.
The smell of pancakes had my mouth watering and my feet moving faster in the direction of the kitchen.
I entered the kitchen to be greeted by London flipping a pancake. He was clad in a white t-shirt and some sky blue knee length jean shorts which showed off his muscular legs, especially his exposed lower leg and muscular calves.
I tiptoed to his unaware figure and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Babe, I don't want you getting burnt by the pan no matter how much I might be enjoying our position." London lightly chuckled before turning around to face me, making my hands drop to his arms as he wrapped his arms around my waist." Good morning." With that be stole a kiss from my lips, making his lips seem shinier all of a sudden.
"Good morning," I giggled as I stretched my arm to try and wipe the lip balm off his lips.
"Baby, I'm fine. My lips felt dry. You look gorgeous by the way, plus we're matching" He winked before looking behind us.
"Mommy! Daddy! Whoo Daddy are you making breakfast?" Came Emma's sweet voice.
I spun around in his arms to face Emma. London's arms loosened around my waist until only one was wrapped around my waist as he stood by my side.
"Yes I am, Baby Girl." He smiled.
"Umm, London isn't the pancake burning?" I asked, even though the smell was nonexistent.
"Well, I moved the pan to a cold plate so nope, they aren't." He cockily smiled." Well, let me finish this one then we can have some breakfast. Rain should be coming back down now."
"Good morning, Lenora," Rain greeted me as she walked into the kitchen," Good morning, Emma." She cooed.
"Good morning." I smiled.
Rain liked Emma so much but unfortunately I can't say the same towards me. She was polite and nice enough but she was sceptical around me.
We sat down and had the delicious breakfast made by London. Each taste made my mouth water as moans left my mouth.
"That was so delicious." I dreamily said as I was about to get up to wash my plate and glass.
London's muscular hand being placed on my knee, had me stopping and turning to him.
"I'm glad, Baby. I'll wash the dishes." He smiled, leaning in for a kiss before pecking my lips and collecting our dishes.
"Don't worry about those, I'll take care of them before Emma and I head to the amusement park." Rain told London.
"Thanks Sis." London smiled before heading to me and offering me his hand," You ready to go, Love?"
I nodded before taking his hand." Let me go grab my phone and bag quickly."
He gave a nod," I'll be outside," He smiled.
I left the room and hurried to the bedroom, where I was met with a messy bed that made me cringe. I set to make the bed before taking my phone and my bag and running out of the room and outside to the waiting car where London was waiting patiently leaning against the car.
Rain had insisted saying that she used their mother's even though I had offered us to take my car instead. London and her agreed that my car would grab unwanted attention so I agreed to taking her car instead is their explanation made sense.
London opened the passenger door for me, resulting in me sending him a soft smile of gratitude.
He jumped into the driver's seat before revving the engine and pulling out of the driveway and onto the road. My eyes wondered to his tense form and to his hands on the steering wheel. His knuckles had turned white from the grip he had on the steering wheel even though his eyes seemed calm and focused on the road. I stretched my hand to his thigh, making his eyes momentarily move to my hand before focusing back onto the road.
"It's going to be alright, London." I softly reassured, resulting in him letting out a deep breath and loosening his tight hold on the steering wheel.
He sent me a quick smile or gratitude before focusing on the road. The rest of the ride was spent in comfortable silence except for the quiet music in the background.
We pulled into the hospital parking lot 30 minutes later. London turned to me with a look of nervousness and fear that made my heart break. I gently took his larger hand in both my smaller ones and rubbed the back of his hand soothingly with my thumbs.
"It's going to be alright, Baby. Trust me." I softly reassured, before leaning over with the seatbelt still in place and gave his lips a peck." You have to believe that its going to be alright, no matter how difficult it may be to believe."
"I trust you, Baby. It's just that I'm scared." He admitted running his hand through his hair.
"You don't have to be. I'm here for you no matter what, London and I have a deep feeling that it's going to be okay, my Love." I reassured.
"I love you." He smiled at me, leaning over to peck my lips before removing his hand from mine and leaving the car. I unbuckled my seatbelt and reached out to open my door just for it to be opened by London. I smiled at him just as he offered his hand to me. Without an ounce of hesitation in my bones, I reached over and placed my hand in his, allowing him to help me out. He interlocked our hands before lifting them to his lips and placing a gentle kiss on mine.
We locked the car before walking to the hospital. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by the strong smell of hospital detergents. The smell instantly made goosebumps rise on my arms for some reason as we made our way to the busy receptionist.
"Good day, Ma'am." London politely greeted, gaining her attention.
"Hello Sir. How may I help you?" She smiled.
"I'm here to visit my mother, Helena Carson." He explained.
"Oh, let me check which room she's in for you." She smiled.
"Thank you." London said.
Clicking sounds from her keyboard filled our momentary silence.
"Room 140B, second floor." The receptionist politely smiled.
"Thank you." London smiled before guiding me towards the elevator.
We made our way up before climbing off on Floor B and making our way to room 140B.
We stood outside of the door for a few minutes with me running my hand soothingly up and down his back. He took a couple of deep breaths before turning to me with a look that asked for strength.
I smiled and gave him a nod.
"I'll be right here if you need me." I softly assured.
"Are you sure you don't wanna get inside with me?" He asked.
"London, this is your time with your mom. I'll get in later, okay?" I asked.
"Okay." He breathed out, before letting go of my hand which he had unintentionally and unknowingly tightened his grip on earlier." Sorry about that Baby. I didn't even notice. I hope I didn't hurt you."
I ran my hand soothingly down his arm before saying," Not a bit. Go in there."
With one last breath and a smile, he made his way into the room and closed the door behind him.
