It's My Birthday
I left work early today to pick up my parents and sister at the airport as they were coming to town to celebrate my 21st birthday, and my first birthday with them since I turned eight. It has been more than a month since I’ve seen them, but we do talk every week on the phone. I looked at the terminal signs and saw their plane had landed and they should be heading toward baggage claim in a few moments.
I waited impatiently just inside the doors, while Aaron remained by the car to keep it from getting towed in the pick-up zone. About ten minutes later, I saw them emerge from the crowd and ran up to them for a hug and a hello. My father went to retrieve the luggage and we headed out.
“It is so good to see you all,” I said as we got into the car. Ryan sat up front with Aaron, while us girls squeezed into the backseat.
“We are so happy to be here as well. Thank you for flying us all out here, we didn’t want to miss this weekend for anything in the world,” Mom said as she gave me a squeeze around the shoulders.
We drove to our house, where they will be staying through Monday morning. I led them to the door and welcomed them all inside. “This is a much different entrance than the last time they all walked in here,” I thought to myself.
“Please come in and make yourselves at home. You will be staying in the same rooms as the last time you were here so you are welcome to put your bags in there now. Jake will be home shortly and is bringing dinner with him.”
No sooner did I say that, I heard Jake at the door and went and helped him carry in the food. “Hey baby,” he kissed me before heading toward the dining room. “Is everyone here?”
“Yeah, they are putting their things in their rooms and should be right out.” I put the food on the table and went to the kitchen to grab plates and silverware, while Jake put his work stuff in our room.
We all sat around the table and caught each other up on what has been going on in our lives since the New Year. Sarah told us about her new class schedule for the second semester that just started a couple weeks before and she has officially chosen Music Therapy as her degree after observing older students in the program providing sessions for people and making a huge difference in their days. Mom and Father talked about all the snow that has been covering the state and how it doesn’t want to let up and the temperatures have been extremely cold.
Jake and I talked about his sister getting engaged and about me getting a part-time job at Masterson Marketing and plans to take some classes to eventually get my GED. I really wanted to ‘graduate’ high school, but since I didn’t get the opportunity this was the next best thing. Then maybe look at college. I told them that my goal is to have a career in human or social services working with women and children who have experienced trauma.
After dinner, we went to the living room and watched a movie to unwind from the day. Jake and I cuddled on the couch, while Sarah leaned against me with her head on my shoulder. It was so good to have everyone here again, together.
Sunday morning I woke up to Jake kissing my neck and shoulders. “Happy Birthday, baby,” he whispered in my ear, “and Happy Valentine’s Day!”
“Happy Valentine’s Day to you as well,” I said while rolling over to face him and gave him a kiss.
Knock, knock, knock
“Who is it?” I asked.
“It’s Mom, we made you breakfast.”
“Come in,” I said while sitting up in the bed and throwing a shirt on, while Jake did the same before covering us up.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Mom and Sarah yelled together as they came into the room carrying two trays of food. Father followed them to the doorway, where he stopped and leaned against the frame.
“Thank you all, this looks delicious,” I said.
“You two enjoy your meal and we will finish up in the kitchen. See you soon,” Mom said as they left the room and closed the door.
Jake and I ate the waffles, bacon and a banana that was given to us and drank the orange juice. After we finished, we decided to get up and get ready for the day. For now I threw on some jeans and a sweater and pulled my hair into a messy bun, while Jake threw on jeans, a T-shirt and a sweater over the top. We were going to change later before going out to celebrate.
When we joined my family in the living room, they each had a gift waiting for me. “We want you to open these now, so you don’t have to carry more tonight after the party,” Father said.
“Thank you,” I replied and sat down on the couch. Sarah handed me her gift and I opened it. It was a sweatshirt from UND’s music department along with a keychain.
“This is to remind you of me, when you wear it,” she said and I gave her a hug.
Mom and Father gave me a couple of photo albums that had been made from when I was baby until my time with them through Christmas. I choked up a little as I told them, “Thank you.” I gave them both hugs. We looked through them together and Jake looked through as well. My day has been wonderful so far.
We were all getting ready to go out and changed clothes. I settled for a little black dress, while Jake wore a black suit. We met up with my family and headed down to the cars. Dylan was driving Jake and me, while Aaron took my family. They were both invited, since I only knew so many people here.
We arrived at the restaurant and we were taken to a private area where we had set up a couple of tables for everyone. Connie, Lizzie and Todd were already there and had set up a cute little table filled with birthday treats, cake and balloons. When she saw me, Lizzie came over and put on a birthday sash and tiara and took a picture.
As I was looking at the decorations, we heard Jordan and Dina come into the room. “Happy Birthday Stacy!” Jordan yelled as he came over and gave me a hug.
“Thank you Jordan,” I replied, returning the hug and giving Dina one as well.
The last to arrive was my team at work. We had gotten pretty close over the last several weeks, so I invited them to join us tonight. In total, there were about seventeen of us, which I was more than comfortable with.
We took our seats and the waiters came in to take our orders. Since I was officially of legal drinking age, I ordered a Strawberry Margarita on my own. I have drank over the past several months, but haven’t really taken a liking to it, so I settled for a fruity drink which I can handle.
While we waited for our food to arrive, different family members got up and shared a little story about me and toasted me. I was completely embarrassed, but I secretly loved every minute of it. Throughout the night, we ate dinner, had cake, danced to some music that was playing and I talked with everyone. It was a perfect evening...but it wasn’t done...yet.
Jake grabbed everyone’s attention by hitting his fork against his glass. After the talking stopped and all eyes were on him, he began his little speech.
“Just over nine months ago, I had this strange pull to take an alternate way home from a business trip I was on and by doing so, I found a woman lying in a ditch and I had this crazy urge to help her and keep her safe from that point on. I thank God every day that I was there that morning and have been given the opportunity to not only support, but love that woman day after day.
Throughout our time together, she has shown me how to see the beauty in all things, explore new things, and opened my eyes to everything this world has to offer. She has taught me forgiveness, how to share my feelings and most of all, she taught me to love unconditionally.” Jake looked down at me and took my hand. I was already crying and knew more was to come.
“Stacy, you have been a light guiding me on a path that I didn’t know existed until I met you. Most people here know that I was on a dark and narrow path before we met.” I heard a few people agree in the background. “I want to continue down this path with you as long as you will lead me, which I am hoping will be forever.” I gasped as Jake pulled me to standing position, while he knelt down on one knee and held out a small jewelry box..
“Stacy Lynn Bishop...will you do me the honor of becoming my wife as we travel down a new path together? Will you marry me?”
I couldn’t control my sobs at this point and if it wasn’t for Jake holding my hand, I probably would have fallen by now as my knees were shaking so bad. I nodded my head, “Yes Jake, I will marry you,” I finally managed to answer him.
He got up and spun me around and gave me a kiss while everyone in the room clapped and congratulated us. He slipped the ring on my left hand and I looked down at it. It was gorgeous.
“It was my grandmother’s ring,” Jake said as he noticed me admiring it.
“It’s beautiful Jake,” I said. “I bet that was the gift his mother gave him at Christmas,” I thought to myself and smiled.
Everyone came up and gave us hugs and their best wishes. Father told me that Jake had asked him for his blessing when he came to visit us in North Dakota. I was touched by that and gave him another hug and held onto him longer than I ever have been able to before. Mom and Jake both noticed and I saw them give each other a knowing smile.
I thanked everyone for joining us as we were getting ready to head out. I had already opened my gifts and we finished all of the treats. Jake grabbed the balloons, while Dylan and Aaron grabbed the gift bags and other decorations that Lizzie told me to take home. We said our final goodbyes outside of the restaurant and got into the car.
Dylan and Aaron drove us home and we brought everything up to the house. It was getting late, so instead of putting everything away, we set it on the dining room table to deal with in the morning. Mom, Father and Sarah went to their bedrooms and Jake and I went to ours.
As I was taking off the tiara and sash, Jake came over and unzipped my dress and lowered it to the floor while laying kisses on my neck and shoulders. His hands roamed all over my body lightly rubbing his fingers over all my sensitive spots: my stomach, my breasts and my lower area over my panties. My breath was getting more shallow and I was ready to have him all.
I turned around and helped Jake out of his clothes. He took off my bra and underwear and he backed me up to the edge of the bed. I kissed his chest and ran my fingers down his abs and brushed my fingers over his growing erection. “Mmmmm…” he moaned as I took it in my hand and started milking it back and forth.
Suddenly, I was tossed onto the bed as Jake climbed over me and pressed his lips against mine. Our tongues wrestled and I dug my nails into his back as the kiss deepened. He began kissing down my neck and to my right breast when he started licking and sucking on it. He took the left one in his hand and started playing with the nipple between his fingers. He switched sides and I arched my back wanting more.
He continued kissing his way down to my lower parts and spread my legs open so he could get better access. I felt his tongue flick my sensitive bud and then work its way over my folds. He parted my lower lips and stuck his tongue inside me while I screamed in pleasure. He licked back to my bud and inserted one...two...three fingers inside me working them in and out. I couldn’t hold back any longer and let it all go. “Ahhhh!”
He kissed my inner thighs and worked his way back up to kiss me. I pushed him back and told him I wanted him on his back. I kissed his chest, down his abs and to his stomach. I reached down and grabbed a hold of him and started moving my hand up and down. “Mmmmm,” he moaned again. I put my head lower and licked his tip as his juices started flowing. I slowly lowered my head until his member was deep inside my mouth and came back up.
“Don’t stop,” I heard Jake say as I continued to bob my head up and down. I could feel him getting close so I went faster and as deep as I could go without gagging. “Baby, I’m gonna…” he whispered as he released inside my mouth. I swallowed every drop. I kissed my way back up his body, to his neck, to his jaw, and finally to his mouth.
He was still hard, so I lowered myself onto him and he filled me up. “Oh Jake, this feels so good,” I said while riding him. He sat up in the bed with me still riding him and I felt him shift inside me hitting all the right spots.
Before I could come again, he flipped me onto my back and climbed on top of me and thrust inside once again. He moved in and out while kissing me all over. We were both sweating and breathing rapidly. “Jake, go faster baby...I’m so close.” He picked up speed and thrust deeper and deeper until I couldn’t hold back anymore and released all over him. A couple of thrusts later, Jake released himself inside me.
He rolled onto his back to catch his breath while I just laid there catching mine.
“That...was...a...maz...ing,” I huffed out.
“It sure was,” he said with a smile.
I rolled onto my side and curled up next to Jake as he wrapped his arm around me. He pulled the blankets up over us. “I hope you had a wonder day today baby,” he said to me.
“I had the best day anyone could ask for. I celebrated my 21st birthday with everyone I love, spent Valentine’s Day with the one I love most and got engaged to that same man. This day couldn’t have been any more perfect. Thank you and I love you Jake.” I kissed him once more.
“I love you too,” he said as we fell asleep.
