Chapter 18

Rebecca was fast asleep before Felix even left the hospital parking lot, but then, he knew she would be. He now had her home and was seated on the bed next to her watching her sleep. She was so cute.

Ja, her hair was a fright, all knotted and tangled, and she had dark rings under her eyes from lack of sleep, but to him, she was still the most beautiful woman on the planet.

Felix Mutter always said, “if you can look past someone’s outward appearance and see their heart, then you will know if that person is special”. So, while Rebecca’s outward appearance was that of someone tired and unkempt, but he knew inside her beat a heart of gold. Felix also knew that it belonged to him, and soon her body would also.

Leaning in, he placed a light kiss on her forehead and whispered, “I love you.”

Then, he stood up, leaving her to sleep while he went to find nourishment for himself.

Rebecca woke up slowly with a soft sigh.

Guten Morgen, Kätzchen (Good Morning, Kitten).”

Rolling over, Rebecca opened her eyes to find Felix next to her. On his face was a loving look she knew was just for her. “Guten Morgen, Felix.”

“Are you ready for breakfast now?” Felix asked.

Stretching out her arms and legs, Rebecca grunted as her back popped. “What time is it?”

“It’s nine-thirty.”

Scrubbing a hand over her face, Rebecca sat up.

Felix stood up than from where he had been seated on the edge of the bed.

“Let me wash the sleep from my face, and then we can go,” she agreed, swinging her legs over the edge of the bed.

Felix moved, stepping between her thighs, causing her to look up. He leaned in and ran his nose along her cheek, whispering, “How about giving me a kiss, and a bit of blood, to tide me over first?”

Rebecca moaned softly as Felix’s cool mint-scented breath on her skin sent shivers of longing down her spine. “I’ll give you the blood, but you have to wait for the kiss until my teeth are brushed.”

Felix began kissing downward slowly until he reached her pulse. It was then she felt his fangs graze her skin before his tongue swirled over her pulse. Then, with a slight pinch, he bit down and began to drink.

It never ceased to amaze Rebecca how the sound and feel of his sucking could create so much pleasure. Rebecca could feel it all the way down to that special place between her thighs, creating a pulse of its own there. She cried out softly, grabbing at him as he began to pull away from her.

Felix knowingly chuckled. “Soon, Kitten. Soon I will take your blood as I take your body. They say it is the greatest pleasure we can give each other, and I can hardly wait to experience it with you.”

Rebecca slowly opened her eyes to find his green-eyed gaze locked on her. “If it gets much more pleasurable, I might faint.”

“Mm... I don’t think you will because you will be enjoying it too much. Now, go and get ready before I change my mind about breakfast and keep you here in my bed,” Felix murmured. He picked her up and placed her back on her feet on the floor.

Rebecca slowly moved around him and headed for the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, the two of them headed for Rebecca’s house. Thankfully, Rebecca’s mom was already gone, and so was Ben. So, after quickly showering and dressing, she and Felix headed to the Pancake House for breakfast.

Felix chuckled at how fast Rebecca swallowed down her food. Rebecca had almost bounced in her seat as they waited for it, and as soon as her plate was in front of her, she had dug in as if she hadn’t eaten for days.

“Ooh, this is so good. Here, you should try some,” Rebecca said as she held a fork full out to him.

“I’m good, Kitten, but thank you for offering,” Felix said. He really didn’t care for pancakes; too messy with all that syrup. The few times he had eaten them, he’s slathered jam on them.

“Awe, come on, Felix, just try them. They’re the best in town, and I know because I love my pancakes,” Rebecca urged him as she waved her fork around in front of him.

Giving in to the begging in her eyes, Felix reluctantly opened his mouth. With a wide smile, Rebecca placed the fork full of pancakes in his mouth. As Felix slowly closed his lips around it and chewed, he felt a bit of syrup at the corner of his mouth. So, slipping his tongue out, he caught it.

Felix saw Rebecca’s eyes suddenly dilate and heard her breathing pick up. Quickly chewing and swallowing before wiping his lips with a napkin, Felix questioned, “Kitten?”

“I-I sorry, I just… um... nothing,” Rebecca whispered, swallowing hard. She then bent her head and went back to eating.

Felix frowned, curious as to what had just happened. Needing to know, he moved over to her side of the booth. Nuzzling into her neck, he whispered, “Tell me, Kitten. No secrets, remember?”

Rebecca’s cheeks turned pink, and she looked at him out of the corner of her eye. “I-I just wanted to...when you...” Rebecca cleared her throat as she turned and buried her face in his neck. “When you licked the syrup from your mouth, it put pictures in my head.”

Felix groaned because now he had pictures in his too. He took a deep breath to calm himself, but it ended up having the opposite effect because he caught a whiff of her arousal.

“Kitten, please tell me you’re finished with your breakfast,” Felix gruffly said, his voice thick with need.

Rebecca nodded against his chest.

Feeling relieved, Felix stuck up his hand and waved down the waitress for the bill. He glanced at it before throwing a few bills on the table after it was brought to them. Felix stood, saying, “Come, Kitten, I need some private time with you before we head to the hospital.”

Rebecca didn’t argue. She just stood and took his hand.

Felix led her out the door to where he’d parked his truck.

Nine days.

It’s been nine days since, well, technically, it had been eleven days since I met Felix, but it’s been nine days since Felix marked me as his beloved. Rebecca was lying in her bed, arms folded behind her, staring at the ceiling because she’d given up on sleeping.

In those nine days, Rebecca and Felix had spent every moment they could together, and she found her love for him growing stronger by the day. Felix could be so sweet and gentle. Opening doors for her, pulling out her chair, kissing her goodnight. Sometimes he could also be a bit rough in his loving, which she loved as much, if not more, than his times of gentleness.

And he’s so good with baby Angelika. I just know he’s going to be a kind and loving daddy one day to our own babies.

Felix could also be very possessive. He still seemed to have a problem with Nick. That had been noticeable to everyone at graduation when Felix had held onto her the whole time as he stared Nick down. It was as if he thought Nick might steal her away at any moment.

Oh, and let’s not forget the waiter at the restaurant last night. Rebecca thought Felix was going to slap the man down when he had winked at her. Felix had quickly informed the waiter that she was his fiancée. If he wanted a woman, he needed to go find one that wasn’t already with a man. It had made Rebecca almost swoon because she loved his possessive side too.

Even though Felix was young for a vampire, he certainly acted closer to his actual age instead of his human age of twenty-four sometimes. An age that only made him a year older than her brother.

For example, Felix had come over for dinner one night, which had become his habit. That night though, her brother was talking about some club he had heard about.

“We should all load up and go to this new club I’ve found. It’s a hang-out for younger people, so no alcohol is served. That means Becks can go even though she isn’t twenty-one yet.” Ben had said.

Felix looked over at her.

Rebecca shrugged because she didn’t care one way or the other. She’d go if Felix wanted to, but she didn’t want to go alone and have guys flirting all night with her.

“I’m really not into the club scene, sorry,” Felix replied as he turned back to Ben.

“Seriously? What guy isn’t into it? I mean the girls man and the... Oh, yeah. Sorry, I forgot you have the ol’ ball and chain thing going. Still, you don’t have to act like an eighty-year-old man. You can still go and have fun, just, you know, with my sister instead of half a dozen different girls,” Ben said.

Rebecca laughed since Felix was an eighty-year-old man.

Felix turned to look at her with a frown.

This only made her laugh harder. She had covered her mouth, trying to stop the laughter she really had. “Sorry, old man. I’ll stop now.”

Felix huffed and pulled her onto his lap while Ben sat watching, looking puzzled. Then he proceeded to shut her up by kissing her.

It had worked. Felix could kiss her quiet anytime.
