Dad says they have one son, and they're expecting a girl. Timmy was his name, I think. Dad said he’s about a year younger than me, so around 19 or 20. I think Robert wants Tim to get to know Ana. It seems a little rushed to me, but it’s not my place to say anything.
Dad asked me to go get Tim’s room ready, while he gets Robert’s room ready. I think dad wants me to be friends with Tim too, which I’d be glad to, but I wished he would just say it instead of getting me to do everything that has to do with him. I hear a knock at the door. I bet that’s him knocking at the door now.
“Hey you,” lilted a tinkling voice.
I look through the peephole, and see it’s my little sister. Not dad. Whew.
I open the door, “Hey sis. Whatcha up to?”
“Oh, nothing much, you know the usual; just roaming the halls like a frickin’ ghost.”
“I heard that!” yells dad from the other room.
“Whoops,” she mouths. I try not to laugh.
“Wanna come in?” I question almost silently. She nods, thankful.
She continues nodding her head as she walks in, “I like how you’ve decorated the place,” she announced to the room.
“Thanks?” I didn’t know how to take that. With her you could never tell, one minute she’s joking around, and the next minute she’s going off on you pissed as ever. I think it’s just a stage, y’know, hormones, being a teenager, and all that jazz.
“I came in here to tell you something...what was it? Oh! Mom said Robert and his family are almost here. About 3 and a ½ hours away she said.”
“You don’t sound too happy about that.” she noted, jokingly.
“It’s just...I don’t know how to act.”
“What do you mean, you ‘don’t know how to act?’ ”
“Because, you know. It’s Timmy…”
“It’s Tim-OHHHHH. Of course, fresh bait for you to seduce!” She started cackling like a witch, and then laughed a real laugh.
“Yeah, yeah, SHHHH!”
“Sorry. It’s not like their gonna care, you know they would support you, it doesn't matter who you like,” she soothed.
“Yeah…...but mom & dad don’t know how to keep secrets. They would probably go and shout it from the rooftops, if they got the chance & not see anything wrong with that.”
“I said sorry, jeez.”
“It’s fine, just don’t say anything to them please. Or Robert and his family.”
“Yeah. I know.”
