My alarm sounded signifying that I had to wake up and face hell. School was going to be dreadful and nothing could change my mind. I still didn't have the energy to face Sean but at that stage I didn't think I had a say in the matter. I forced myself to get up and proceeded to complete my morning routine.

I looked at my phone and saw that it was twenty past eight. I once again turned off airplane mode. My two best friends would be there any minute. I'd known Isabella since we were four. She'd always been there for me and we had a seriously strong bond. We'd had our arguments here and there but it only made our bond stronger. In the first week of sixth form we met a boy in our form. His name was Austin and we got along really well. We became a trio quite quickly and it'd been like that since.

I heard the yell of Austin's voice and so grabbed my stuff and left the house. When I got outside, I noticed that Isabella was nowhere to be seen, which was weird because Austin always went to get her before me.

"Hey Shin!" Austin grinned at me, as I walked up to him.

"Morning, where's Bella?"

"I don't really know to be honest, she just said something about she'd walk to school."

"Isabella was the one who made us meet prior to school. This is something new."

"You're telling me. She'd better actually be there." He grumbled, beginning to walk.

It took around 10 minutes to get to school from mine. Turns out that Isabella was standing at the gate waiting for us. By the time we'd gotten inside the gate, she was basically in front of us. I saw her swallow something before throwing the tissue in her hand into a bin.

"What took you two so long?" Bella's sarcastic tone was prevalent.

"Better question. Where have you been?" I retorted.

"You usually get to my house before I'm even up." Austin backed me up.

"This new bakery opened up nearby so I went early."

"How nice of you to invite us." Austin sneered, walking towards the entrance of school.

"I did! Neither of you responded." She marched after him, dragging me with her.

"When?" Austin turned back around.

"At like six this morning. Austin, your phone never has notifications on so I didn't expect you to get the message. You never wake up until 7:30 anyway and even then you don't check your phone."

Austin looked like he was about to defend himself but that look quickly disappeared.

"That's a fair point." He muttered.

Isabella rolled her eyes and continued walking.

"Moving on to more important matters, are you going to be ok today Roy?" Bella squeezed my hand.

"I mean there's no way I can avoid him so I guess I'll have to be. The first chance he gets he's going to ambush me with apologies. I put my phone on airplane mode because he kept texting last night."

"I'm sorry, what's going on?" Austin questioned, a puzzled expression on his face.

The two of us stopped entirely. It slipped both of our minds that we hadn't told Austin and weren't going to for as long as possible. He had both a very short temper as well as anger issues. There had been a few instances before when both of these factors had led to Austin acting out in ways that were pretty bad. Isabella and I were going to avoid the topic but that failed.

"Nothing." Bella shrugged it off.

"It's clearly not nothing so how about you tell me?"

"He was going to find out sooner or later," I huffed, "You tell him."

"Long story short, Sean was drunk and ended up talking a whole bunch of shit about Roy behind his back to his friend saying he was annoying, useless, a waste of-"

"He said what about Roy?" Austin spoke, his voice dead calm.

"Please don't do anything stupid. It's really not worth it. I don't care enough about it for you to get into a fight." I pleaded, knowing he wasn't going to listen to me.

"He's dead! He's so fucking dead!"

By then, basically everyone in the area was staring at us. Some looked confused, some looked scared. My face was completely red. Other than the anger, Austin was also very protective over Bella and I.

A year prior, we found out Bella's current boyfriend was cheating on her. He went absolutely livid. When he saw the boy, he lost it. It resulted in the boy ending up in a really bad state and Austin being excluded. He was lucky that the school didn't do worse. The school had been keeping a close eye on him ever since.

So at that point in time, I was concerned. Not for what was going to happen to Sean but the consequences it would cause for Austin.

Before we could say anything else to him, he stormed off, most likely in search of Sean. I looked at Isabella, who shared the same expression as me.

Worry. We definitely fucked up.

"Are you sure that was smart?" She glanced at me.

"No but as I said, he was going to find out sooner or later." I mumbled.

After Austin's exit, everyone began to go back to their conversations or their last minute revision. And that's when I heard his voice.

"Roy!" He called. The one person I wanted to avoid at all costs.

"Just go away, he doesn't want to speak to you nor look at you!" Bella sneered at Sean, before grabbing my arm and beginning to drag me off.

However, he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"At least give me a chance to explain, Isabella."

"She's right, now let go of me." I groaned, trying to get out of his grip.

"Just listen to me-" He began but was cut off mid sentence.

"You'd better let go of him now or I'll kill you myself!" I heard Austin yell from the entrance of the building.

He ran up to Sean and lunged at him, nearly pulling me down with him. With that, the fight began. Soon enough, a whole crowd was gathered to see the action. Austin was repeatedly punching Sean's face. However, Sean was fighting back, punching and kicking. There was a mix of cheers, gasps and yells from the surrounding crowd. But the fight was cut short.

Mr. Sanson, the P.E teacher, got into the middle and split the two apart. Both of them were bleeding somewhat at that point.

"Miles! Rivers! Get to the centre NOW!" He basically screamed. Austin stormed off into the school, giving Sean a deadly glare on his way. Sean's gaze lingered on me for a few seconds before following Austin.

"The rest of you get to class!" Mr. Sanson yelled. The crowd quickly disbanded and I took that chance to run off to somewhere quiet before Bella could catch me. The day had already turned out bad and I was dreading the rest. Just then, my phone buzzed.
