“Alright Chicky, you better spill and spill it all!” I heard Jessica’s voice yell from the front of my house, followed by the bang of the door hitting the wall after she threw it open.

I let out a sigh and took a long satisfying gulp of my wine. I grabbed an empty glass and the wine bottle. I walked into my living room and raised an eyebrow at her full arms.

“Did you bring every sack in the world?” I looked at her.

“I wasn’t sure what to get, and I wasn’t sure how much comfort food we would need after you tell me what the hell is going on with my cousin!” She dropped the bags to the floor and walked towards me, grabbing the empty glass and bottle from my hands. “And don’t say nothing because I know something happened in his office this afternoon.”

“I fell into his trap.” I took another gulp.

“Okay…” She trailed off, waiting for me to elaborate.

“He knew exactly what he was doing when he put his black suit on today.” I walked towards her bags of snacks and grabbed the jar of gummy worms off the top. “It’s so stupid. It’s a god damn suit and yet he looked like a freaking Greek god in it. How could something so ridiculous grind my gears that much?” I rolled my eyes.

I’m a hot mess. Falling to pieces.

“Girl I get it. When he wears his black suit you turn into a cat in heat.” She stuck her tongue out at me. “But that doesn’t tell me what the hell is going on!” She waved her hand, telling me to get on with it.

“Basically I told him game on. I plan to win, what I’m winning I have no idea but if he wants to be dirty then I’ll be dirtier.” I shrugged my shoulders. “Come on, I need some help for tomorrow.” I made my way up the stairs. I heard Jess chuckle behind me before she followed me into my room. “I definitely did not make the right call telling him game on, but I can’t back out. I’ll look like an idiot.” I told her, regretting my decisions from earlier in his office.

“I don’t know. I think it’ll be good for you. You two have history, you have a lot of feelings towards each other. Both good and bad. You loved him for a long time, and you’ve been angry with him for a long time.” She shrugged her shoulders as we walked into my room. “I think it would be good for you guys to have some fun. Explore those feelings in an innocent way that won’t lead to anyone getting hurt. It’s just fun and games.” Her idiotic logic was frustrating. “So how exactly do you plan to play dirtier?” She set her wine glass down on my side table before she flopped onto my bed.

I smiled at her as I set my glass down next to hers. “Fun and games…” I trailed off. “Right, just fun and games.” I felt as if I was trying to convince myself that this is all that it was. “But it’s been a while since I’ve pulled these out but I’m sure it’ll get his gears grinding.”

Jess rolled her head to the side to look at me before she flipped onto her stomach and pulled the pillow under her chest.

“Wait…you’re not pulling that outfit out are you?” Her eyes glittered with glee.

“Baby girl, I’m pulling that outfit out.”

An outfit that I’m sure I’ll regret.
