Summary

In the country of Meridia, there are certain foreign nationals called Herans who migrated from their country to find a better life. The citizens of Meridia however are not very welcoming to Herans. Jhackie finds herself navigating life and high school in a land where her nationality is clearly not preferred along with her two best friends Minka and Javis. Once accepted into an advanced English class, Jhackie meets the sharp quick witted John who happens to be the son of the Premier of the country. Can Jhackie's relationship with John blossom into its full potential or will societal demands intervene?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

K. P. was born in The Bahamas to Haitian parents. This story is loosely based on her life and the challenges she faced growing up as a teenager. She considers herself to be an ambivert. Growing up, she loved reading and could finish certain books in one day. English Language and English Literature were her favorite subjects in school along with Office Procedures and Keyboarding. Now though she still enjoys reading, her time is spent reading the bible and other books that encourage a closer relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Singing and writing are her passion, and she has devoted herself to writing poetry and novels that immediately grasp and keep the attention of readers.
