Chapter - 1

I ran downstairs and opened the door cause I thought it was my sister and Dad. They ran out to get groceries, but when I opened the door, two police officers were standing there. The first police officer was around six foot two and had dark hair. He had icy blue eyes though his eyes looked tired. In his hair, he had some silver mixed in. He appeared to be around 35 years old.

The second police officer had dirty blonde hair and green eyes that looked sad. He was about five foot eight, and he looked about 30 years old. He was a little bit rounder but still fit.

The taller of the two police officers said, "Hi, I was wondering if your mom is home."

"No, she is on a business trip. She will be back in a day or so. Do you need anything officers?" As soon as I spoke, I could feel the tension in the room shift, and the police officers looked sad. That made me a little worried.

"Umm, yes, we are sorry to inform you that Jaden Gray Thorne and Winter Linn Thorne were in an accident. Your father had died on impact, and your sister has suffered severe lacerations all over her body. She has three broken ribs and has a severe concussion, and possibly brain damage. She is in a medically induced coma right now. We are not sure if or when she will wake up."

As they spoke, everything started spinning, the room became darker and darker. My ears started ringing, and it only got louder and louder, then everything went black. In the background, I could hear a steady beeping noise;

It got louder and louder.

My eyes open wide, I shoot up into a sitting position, breathing hard.

I reach up to wipe away the sweat that had collected on my forehead. I then reach over to turn off my alarm clock. My alarm clock reads 4:30, so I get out of bed and head over to my closet.

I pick out a matching black and white Nike sports bra and athletic shorts set and my Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG BGs.

I walk across the hall to check with Mom to see that she is sound asleep, so I grab a sticky note on the desk beside me. I write down where I am going just in case she wakes up before I get back. I set it on the bedside table along with her early just in case she needs me.

I walk downstairs and grab my Mother's key before I walk out and drive to the gym. It's only 5 minutes away from our house. I would usually walk, but if something is wrong with Mom, I cannot risk that.

I arrived in an almost empty parking lot in hop out, quickly locking the doors to the car before I headed inside.
When I walk inside, I see Jake working at the front desk. As soon as he sees me, he walks into the backroom for a second before re-emerging with my Nike string bag and a set of keys.

"Thank you, Jake," I say. Before I leave to go workout, he gives me a quick nod of the head.

I walked back into the central part of the gym and headed towards the room in the far right corner. There are not many people here and most of them I know.

When I reach the door to that room, I use the key that Jake and André use to unlock the door. I walked into the room and got the tape out of the bag for my hands.

I walk over and set my bag down on the ground near the wall. I picked the punching bag closer to me and picked up my stance for my routine.

I did that for a while until I heard my phone ring. I ran over to my phone and answered it without bothering to look at the caller ID.

"Well hello, Hunter," The Familiar voice says.

"GRAYSON," I scream into the phone.
