I sat up and looked around. I was in a hospital, this isn’t where I should be. Unless I want to be caught. My father was the beta of the Moonlight Pack, my mom was a human, and my aunt is a witch. It was unusual that a human and a wolf were mates, but the Alpha allowed it.
My father didn’t want to have kids, but he needed to have the family business continue. He wasn’t happy that I was a girl, he abused me whenever he wanted to.
“Just let me go, I’ll leave this town so I will never bother you again. Please Mr. Brayer.” I begged, he’s human and me not being a human and at the hospital could cause a whole lot of trouble for me. I’m not even sure why I’m here in the first place, I don’t remember anything that happened beforehand.
“You are underage, Taylor.” Mr. Brayer stated as he crossed his arms.
“I was doing just fine on my own, I don’t need your help.”
“If you mean lying to over half the people in this town. That includes the cops and hospitals. Did you know that you have no records? That you don’t have a birth certificate?”
“I’m protecting myself. You won’t be able to find anything about me because it no longer exists.” I said as I got out of my bed and grabbed my stuff that were in the corner of the room. I opened the door and walked out, finding a bathroom.
I opened the door to the bathroom. I grabbed my make-up bag and redid my whole face and some colored contacts. I ripped my shirt to look like a crop top. The other piece of cloth, I ripped in half. One half tied around my head for a headband. The second piece was used as a belt, even though I don’t need it. I looked in the mirror, I was a totally different person. I used a little bit of my magic to cover my scent and to make my hair look brown. You tend to stand out when you have whitish-gray hair.
I opened the door, and ran into Mr. Brayer. “Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” I said looking up.
“That’s okay, have you seen her?” He asked as he pulled a picture of me out.
“No I haven’t. Is she in some sort of trouble?”
“No, just a little lost.”
“Lost?” I was not expecting that.
“Yeah, she has this thing going for her but she uses it for the wrong things.”
“I personally think that she could become someone in law enforcement. Taylor is a very bright girl.”
“Oh, you should probably go and find her.” He nodded his head and left. As I walked out of the hospital, a sly smile played on my lips. Before I left the hospital, I went to find the records they just took of me, and to check if they took any blood tests. To my dismay, they did so I had to go and hunt them down, just to destroy them.
I walked to my little hut that was on the outskirts of town. I don’t live in town because it is way easier for people to find me there. I grabbed my bag and started packing. I went into my bathroom and got out my first aid kit. I opened it to make sure that everything was in there. It’s not really a first aid kit, just a place where I can hide my potions that can kill people. I have another one to heal people.
I walked out of the hut and started destroying it. If I don’t want people to find me, I have to cover my tracks. Now, I have more people looking for me. Great.
I went back into town to buy myself a truck. I got everything that I needed and left everything behind me. I drove until I stopped for lunch, which was near the city. I walked into a diner and sat down at the island. “What can I get you?”
“How about a coke and a burger.” She nodded her head and left.
Since it was rare to have a human mate, the kids of them were hunted, if their child was a wolf. It was because we heal faster than wolves, we run faster, and silver doesn’t hurt us as bad as it does to regular wolves. Most of the time, when you have a human mate, your child is going to be human. Having a wolf child is extremely rare. Not to mention that I have a black crescent mark on my right shoulder. I am a white wolf, but the mark is black. In my human form, I have a birthmark of the crescent moon on my shoulder. I know it stands for something, but I’m not sure what. I’m not sure how I inherited it, but I have some magic in me because of my aunt.
When the Alpha told me that the hunters were dead, I ran away. A few days after I left, I heard that the Alpha died from a heart attack. Now it’s just me who knows and I have been living on my own ever since. I just turned eighteen a few days ago. When wolves turn sixteen, we are able to find our mates. It’s been two years, and I haven’t found my mate yet.
I ignored her because I’m not sure how my mate will take it when he finds out what I am. When the lady came back to give me my food. Since she was here, I asked, “Do you know where I can find a decent apartment?”
“Go to the bank, ask for Mrs. Hunium, tell them that Wanda sent you.”
“Thank you” She nodded her head and left.
When I was done eating, I went back into my truck and went to the bank. I opened the door and stood in line, everyone here was human, but I could smell a few wolves in the building. I double checked to see if my scent was hidden, I didn’t want the wolves to know that I am a rogue because I’m most likely trespassing right now. “What can I help you with?” the lady behind the desk asked without looking up.
“Can I see Mrs. Hunium?” She gave me a questioning look, I could tell that she was another human. “Wanda sent me?” I said, unsure. She nodded and left.
After a few minutes she came back with a middle aged woman. “Who sent you here?” The other lady said, who I am guessing is Mrs. Hunium, is a wolf.
“A lady named Wanda did, she works at the little diner out of the city.”
“Come with me.” I followed her, seeing every exit there was in the building. She opened a door, allowing me to come in, which I’m guessing is her office. I walked in and sat in a chair, and looked around her office. It gave off a homey look, quiet and comforting look. “What do you need help with?”
“I was looking for an apartment, I’m new here. I only have a trunk of stuff, I don’t have a lot of things.”
“Here is my number,” she said while handing me her card. “I will call you later today for you to come by and pick up the keys. When you get there go to the front desk and pay for however long you are staying there.” I nodded my head and stood up.
I opened the door and I walked out, then I stuck my head back in the room. “I would put that ring back on, stop the games and get to know your mate-husband. I don’t know what I would do if he found out that I was sleeping with other guys. I do know that my kids are going to struggle with everything, unless it can be prevented.” I shut the door behind me and nodded at the man walking down the hallway, he was now opening the door to her office.
