Chapter 26

Arriving to the lake house, I was starting to second guess if coming out here was a good idea. Don't get me wrong. The land was gorgeous and there was plenty of space, but Easton forgot to mention one major detail: the Stone Lake girls were also here. I didn't personally have anything against them, but I had to put in more effort to hiding my gender around other girls. Freya and a few other girls were waiting out front when we drove up. As we all piled out of the cars, I made it a point to stand behind Leo. I didn't want to be on guard my whole vacation, and Freya was not an easy person to deal with.

"You guys made it," Freya smiled at us before giving Easton a hug. Her gaze landed on us as she walked over.

"Leo, Sky, good to see you guys again," she smiled as she opened her arms for a hug. I actively hid behind Leo as he put a finger to her forehead to stop her.

"I don't want your hug, and no one is allowed to touch my kid. Got it?" Leo said firmly. Easton chuckled awkwardly before taking Freya's shoulders and leading her towards the entrance of the house.

"Let's go inside and dish out rooms," he quickly changed the subject. Being as used to Leo's attitude as they were, the guys only chuckled as they shook their heads. The girls, however, just looked downright confused. We went inside and Easton gave us a tour before letting the girls get first pick on rooms.

"Ryker and Cody, you two can take the room closest to the patio. Sawyer and I will take the one upstairs, and the inseparable duo can take the add on suite that's on the other side of the pool," Easton instructed. I was actually surprised Easton didn't try to mess with Leo on this one. Leo seemed confused as well. Easton glanced at us before rolling his eyes.

"It's the quietest, and it's not like I would have been able to separate you two anyway. And for the record, I'm doing it for Sky, not you," Easton answered our unspoken questions as he looked at Leo. I smiled before stepping forward and petting his head jokingly.

"Aw, you're maturing," I joked. Easton didn't seemed bothered at all though as he stuck out his tongue at me.

"I'll go get our bags," Leo said before he left. I sighed before going to sit on the couch in the spacious living room. Pretty soon, all the girls were back as the rest of the guys went to settle their bags too. Freya sat right next to me with a smile.

"I can't help but feel like we got off on the wrong foot somewhere. Every time I try to get closer to you, I'm blocked by Leo. Did I offend you somehow?" She asked as the other girls held their own conversation. I shook my head quickly.

"No! Not at all. It's just.. I'm a bit OCD and Leo is my roommate and the closest person to me, so he gets protective when people try to invade my personal space," I lied. Freya nodded thoughtfully before tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"I'm Abby, by the way. Diving," one the other girls introduced herself as she smiled at me.

"Erica, track and field," the other girl followed suit.

"We heard about your fencing record for the year so far. I don't think anyone has won as many meets as you have this year. Rumor is, you're some sort of fencing genius," Abby jumped into a conversation with me. I was honestly glad for it. I didn't know how to continue the conversation I was having with Freya. Something Leo said before suddenly popped into my mind. He said that Freya was only interested in him before because he won some medals. Was this her trying to hit on me now? If it was, this was going to be a long week.

"Not a genius. I just put my all into the sport I love,"I answered Abby. Freya put a hand on my arm as she smiled at me. I found myself practically jumping off the couch. I was pulled away and sandwiched in between two towering figures. It was Easton and Leo. Easton was the one who pulled me away, effectively handing me off to Leo.

"Freya... I agreed to let you guys join us on the premise that you wouldn't start anything. Please be sure to keep your word," Easton said seriously. It was weird seeing Easton in such a state. He was never this serious. Freya scoffed as everyone else came back to the living room to watch the scene.

"I haven't done anything! All I did was touch Sky's arm. It's not like touching him will burn," she argued back. Ryker clicked his tongue as he shook his head.

"You might not think it's a big deal, but take it from someone who's tried before. Messing with Sky, is not in your best interest. If Leo tells you not to do something regarding Sky, don't do it. I've been on the other side of hurting Sky before and it is not a fun place. No one touches Sky except Leo and sometimes Easton, but even Easton has a hard time," Ryker explained to Freya. The way he talked about me made me feel like an important piece of art in a museum. I knew I wasn't that fragile, but I also knew that it was always better to take precautions.

"What? Is Leo like in love with him or something?" Erica asked curiously. An awkward silence fell over us as I glanced at Leo. I could tell his teeth were clenched behind his lips as he stood there.

It's hard to explain. Anyway, all you need to know is not to mess with Sky. Because messing with Sky is messing with Leo," Sawyer said, breaking the tension finally.
