Chapter 7 - What You Do To Me

Faith (Quinn) POV

I had barely slept a wink all night, any noise that I’d heard had me sitting bolt upright in bed.
I’d clutched my flick knife close to my chest all night, ready for if someone forced their way into my room.

But here I was, it was close to my late check out time and no one had come anywhere near my room. If Jayce had been involved with Clayton then surely he would have come to claim me by now. Maybe my hunch had been wrong, maybe Jayce had no idea what I was involved in.

I showered and packed what little belongings I had into my backpack. I fixed myself some dry biscuits with cheese for breakfast and a cup of tea. I grabbed my things and left the motel room, locking the door behind me.

As I approached the reception desk in the main entrance I watched the stout woman look up at me.

“Leaving now my dear?” She asked warmly.

I smiled at her and left the key on the desk, “Yes, thank you” I replied.

As I went to turn around I felt a familiar shiver run over my body. I swallowed and chewed my bottom lip.

He’s here... Rouge purred.

I took a deep breath walked out of the motel and down the front stairs. I looked to my right and saw Jayce leaning casually up against the side of a black twin cab utility.

I stopped and watched as he put his hands in his trouser pockets and started striding over to me. I couldn’t move. His eyes were locked with mine, pinning me to the spot. My heart raced more with every step he took in my direction; butterflies stirred in the lowest depths of my abdomen and painful ache blossomed between my legs. As Jayce grew closer I noticed that his eyes were back to normal but his face was tense and hardened, as if he was trying to hold something back.

“Faith” he drawled as he stopped directly in front of me.

I could feel my breathing getting heavier and my palms starting to sweat.

Jayce’s eyes raked over my body from head to toe, lingering at my chest, “You ok? You seem out of breath”

I glared at him and crossed my arms over my chest. He knew exactly what he was doing to me. I wasn’t stupid though, I could tell his arrogance was just a facade to distract me from the effect I was having on him. I’d observed the regular clench of Jayce’s jaw, the twitch in his biceps and the beading of sweat on his brow. The man was struggling as much, if not more, than me.

“I’m fine. What do you want?” I snapped in return.

“I need you to come for a drive with me” he answered matter of factly.

I laughed out loud and shook my head. Was he crazy? After what happened yesterday he must be crazy to think that I would just get in a car with him.

“Not a fucking chance” I spat.

Jayce shrugged his shoulders, hands still in his pockets.

“Faith. You can either walk your fine arse over to my car and get in yourself or I can pick you up, throw you over my shoulder and make a scene. Either way you are getting in my car”

I studied his face for any indication that he was bluffing but it was pretty obvious that Jayce fully intended on following through with his threat.
The ache between my legs intensified and I had to stop myself from clenching my thighs together. The thought of his muscular arms grabbing me and throwing me over his shoulder was something that lit a fire inside, a fire that I didn’t know could be lit and I knew Rogue wanted me to challenge him just so he would do it.

Jayce smirked as he watched me wrestle with my internal dilemma.

“Smug bastard” I growled as stormed past him in the direction of his vehicle.

We had been driving in silence for about fifteen minutes. I could feel Jayce watching me every now and then but I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of acknowledging him.

“We’re here” he grunted and slowed the car down.

I looked through the window and sat up straight as I watched a large steel gate in front of us slide open.
As we drove through the gates I looked around me. It was beautiful.

We were in what looked like a small village. There were cabins and small houses that were spaced around, kids playing joyfully in a small playground and magnificent trees that surrounded it all.

Jayce smiled at the look of awe that was plastered across my face.

“It’s nice, isn’t it?” He said.

I nodded and looked at him.

“Where are we?” I asked.

According to the maps I had been studying there should only be forest here, not a small town that was almost the same size as Fern Creek.

“It’s still part of Fern Creek”, Jayce answered, “think of this like a gated community, in a way that’s exactly what it is”

I nodded again, taking it all in.

Then I saw him. My skin crawled and Rogue growled as I met eyes with Mr Rowdy...the arsehole from the bar. He was standing at the door of a house that was larger than the rest, a house that we were about to park right next to.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me” I hissed.

Jayce’s body tensed and a low growl emanated from him.

“I’ll deal with him, stay here”

Before I knew what was happening Jayce jumped out of the car, stormed right up to the moron from the bar and punched him square in the face. I gasped, the bloke didn’t even have time to defend himself, I almost felt sorry for him...almost. I watched as they exchanged a few words and then shook hands.

Men. I could feel Rogue rolling her eyes but could also tell she was secretly excited about Jayce’s show of masculinity and dominance.
Jayce looked over to me and signalled for me to come to him, which slightly annoyed me. I wasn’t a dog.
I reluctantly got out of the car as the memory of him threatening to throw me over his shoulder played on my mind.

“Faith, this is Brad. I believe you two have already met...” Jayce spoke.

I glared at Brad as I stopped next to him, crossing my arms over my chest.

“We have indeed” I spat.

Brad cleared his throat and wiped away some blood that was leaking from his probably broken nose.

“I apologise for the way I acted the other day. If I had known who you were I wouldn’t have spoken to you like that or laid a hand on you” he mumbled.

What did he mean ‘If I had known who you were’? I tried not to let the fear that raked over my body reach my face. I could not let them see how afraid I was. If they really knew who I was then I was in more danger than I thought. I noticed Jayce give Brad a stern look, as if Brad had spoken out of line.

“You can go now Brad. Go clean yourself up, I’ll talk to you later” Jayce said, dismissing Brad.

“Yes Alpha” he answered before turning and stalking off.

Alpha!

I could feel Rogue’s excitement burst through me, almost like she wanted to jump out of my skin. I grabbed my head as a sharp headache took hold.

“Are you ok?” Jayce asked, concern in his voice as he held my shoulders.

I looked up at him as his strong body towered over me. He really was a sight to behold. Never had I seen a man ooze so much raw sex appeal, he was dripping in it. I bit my bottom lip and inhaled his scent, my eyes closing inadvertently. He smelt like a blend of aftershave and sweat, it was intoxicating.

“I’m fine. Just a headache” I managed to answer.

Jayce’s hand moved from my shoulder to the side of my face as he cupped my cheek tenderly. I bit my lip harder and closed my eyes. My skin prickled in pins and needles and my heart raced to the point I felt light headed. I instinctively leant into Jayce’s touch and felt Rogue almost purring with satisfaction.

What the hell was going on with me?

Jayce POV

Faith’s cheek felt like warm silk under my rough hand. I watched her mouth as she bit down on her bottom lip, her eyes closed and head tilted up to my own. I could feel her heart racing as it matched the speed of mine. I could feel how much she wanted me, as much as I wanted her.

I lowered my face to her’s, the urge to kiss her was overwhelming. I wanted to grab her and claim her mouth, letting everyone know that she was mine.
As much as I wanted to follow through with my urges I knew Faith and I needed to talk. I also knew that if I kissed her, talking would be the last thing on my mind.

I pressed my forehead against Faith’s and lowered my hand back down to her shoulder.

“We need to talk” I breathed

Faith and I sat at the table in my dining room. I watched as she lifted her mug and took a sip of her tea. She lowered it again to the table and lent back in her chair.

“You’re a wolf” she said quietly, “You’re a wolf”

I nodded. I’d spent the last hour talking as Faith sat in silence, listening intently. I explained to her what I was, but more importantly, I explained to her what she was to me.

“You’re a wolf and I’m...I’m your mate?”

I nodded again as Faith looked up at me. She was taking all of this a lot better than I thought she would. Either that or she was in shock, I wasn’t entirely sure.

“But you said that wolves can’t be mated to humans. I think you’re confused. I’m not your mate”

I exhaled and stood up, walking to the head of the table where Faith was seated. I knelt down next to her, placing my hand on her knee. I looked into her eyes and smiled.

“Do you feel that?” I asked

“Feel what?” Faith answered breathlessly.

“The shiver of your skin as I walked towards you?” I groaned, sliding my hand further up her leg, “Your heart racing? Your breathing laboured? The electricity as my hand touches your leg? I can feel you pressing your thighs together...I know every inch of you wants me, just as badly as I want you”

I heard a small sound, like the combination of a whine and moan, escape Faith. It was the sexiest fucking sound I’d heard in my life, the need and lust behind it causing what little restraint I had the last hour to be gone. I grabbed Faith’s face in my hands and pressed my mouth firmly against her’s. There was no resistance from her at all as she opened her mouth, allowing my tongue to explore her’s.

I lifted Faith up from her chair, wrapping her legs around my waist and slamming her back up against the wall. Everywhere her body touched mine felt like spot fires against my skin.
Her arms circled my neck, our kiss deepening and her actions becoming more needy, more urgent.
She squeezed her legs around me, rubbing herself against my erection. I heard her moan again and felt her fingernails dig into my shoulders. I growled into Faith’s mouth which only made her cling on to me tighter. If I wasn’t careful my wolf would have me tearing her clothes off now and fucking her on the dining room table.
My whole body was burning; The heat emanating from Faith, combined with my own body was making me lose my mind. I pressed my chest hard against her, completely encasing her against the wall. I tore her hands from around my neck, pinning them above her head.

“Look at me” I growled.

Faith opened her beautiful blue eyes and locked them with mine. I saw the need and lust in them quickly change to fear as she realised my eyes had changed to black. Faith attempted to pull away but I kept her arms pinned and her body flattened against the wall.

“No, you are not running away from me again” I breathed, my lips brushing against her ear, “This is because of you, this is what you do to me”

Faith stopped struggling and I loosened my grip on her. She looked back at my eyes, her fear slowly going away as the realisation set in that I wasn’t going to hurt her. I could never hurt her, could I?

“You didn’t answer my question” I reminded her as I reluctantly set her back down on the ground, “Did you feel that?”

Faith sat back down on her chair, cheeks flushed and legs shaking. It took every ounce of strength and willpower to stop myself from jumping on her again. My head pounded as my wolf howled to get out.

More. We need more!

“Yes” Whispered Faith, “I felt all of that”
