Chapter 12

Three days later, Jennifer was in her office at the company. She was packing up her stuff. Her mom came in.

“Honey,” Amber said.

“Mom,” Jennifer said.

“I wish you would stay,” Amber said.

“You know why I can’t,” Jennifer said.

“I know honey,” Amber said.

“I hate him, Mom, I hate him for what he did,” Jennifer said.

“I know honey, I’m not happy with him either,” Amber said.

“I told him that I got married to Ethan and your husband couldn’t wait to tell me that my husband was lying to me already, maybe Ethan had a reason and he didn’t give him the opportunity to be honest with me, he got me upset with my husband that I left him for the time being,” Jennifer said.

“So you will go back to Ethan,” Amber said.

“I just might to stick it to my so called father,” Jennifer said.

“Really?” David said.

“Get out,” Jennifer said.

“I’m your father young lady,” David said.

“David,” Amber said.

“I don’t have a father, not anymore,” Jennifer said.

“Jennifer, you deserved to know he was lying to you,” David said.

“No, Father, you kept him from being honest with me, it would have been better coming from him, he could have explained it better but no, you had to destroy me,” Jennifer said.

“He did that!” David said.

“NO YOU DID!” Jennifer yelled.

“David please,” Amber said.

“What Amber,” David said.

“You’ve hurt her enough, just go okay please,” Amber said.

“You going back to him, aren’t you,” David said.

“He’s my husband and we will have to talk things out, but right now, I want you gone, I don’t want to see or talk to you,” Jennifer said.

“Did Becca go to Eric?” Amber asked.

“Yeah she did, they worked things out,” Jennifer said.

“You just giving up your career,” David said.

“No Dad, we are starting our own company,” James said.

“James,” David said.

“You went too far, Dad, I’m with my sister all the way,” James said.

“Amber,” David said.

“I’m not going anywhere for now,” Amber said.

“What do you mean?” David asked.

“You are my husband, but I’m not happy with you right now,” Amber said.

“Amber,” David said.

“No, you have gone too far, you drove our children away!” Amber said.

“Let’s go, sis,” James said. Jennifer sent a text to Ethan.

“Hey,” Jennifer texted.

“Jen? Baby?” Ethan texted.

“Can you come pick me up?” Jennifer texted.

“Where are you?” Ethan texted.

“The company, me and James just got done cleaning out our offices,” Jennifer texted.

“I’ll be right there,” Ethan texted. She and James grabbed their boxes from their offices and walked out the door. They stood in the lobby.

“You will be okay sis?” James asked.

“I’ll be fine, Ethan and I have to talk but I think we can work things out,” Jennifer said. Ethan came running in and ran to her and took her in his arms.

“Oh god baby,” Ethan said.

“Let’s go home and we will talk,” Jennifer said.

“Jennifer! James!” David said.

“Goodbye Father,” James said.

“Goodbye Father,” Jennifer said.

“What the hell are you doing here!” David said.

“Picking up my wife, that’s what I’m doing here,” Ethan said.

“You destroyed my family!” David said.

“No you did!” James said.

“You destroyed it, have a nice life, if you ever come near me or Ethan or my brother, you will regret it,” Jennifer said. James went out the door. Jennifer and Ethan walked out the door.
