Drama / Romance

I watched as the officers walked out the house with him in front of them in handcuffs, it was finally over, after so many years it was finally over. I just watched as they put him into the cop car and turned to face my mother who was thanking them again for saving us from his wrath. While they were talking he looked up at me and I could see the pain in his eyes and the wrath slowly creeping into them as he saw me watching. He starting flipping out and kicking the door trying to open it. My mother screamed and one of the officers went over and got into the car with him, the other one escorted my mother into the house. When the other officer got into the cop car they drove away, but I couldn’t pay attention to any of that only the rage in his eyes as he looked up as me after the first cop had got into the car. I knew he wanted me dead but with the look in his eyes he was going to kill me with his own hands.

One year later:

I walked down stairs and into the kitchen where I saw my mom feeding Skarlet. Skarlet looked up from her cereal and reach her arms up to me. I smiled then walked over, my mother got up and went over to where her coffee was sitting on the counter and took a sip of it. As I picked up Skarlet I saw a small smile creep onto my mother’s face. I sat Scar onto my lap and she began to play with my hair braiding it into small little braids.

“How’d you sleep mom?” I asked since she had been having really bad nightmares lately.

“Another nightmare, I swear the pills the doctor gave me aren’t working they just cause me to pass out once I take them.”

I nodded then gave her a half smile and looked at Scar who looked up at me and smiled flashing the four teeth she had inside her mouth.

“Having fun?” I asked and she nodded.

“Pritty?” She asked as she held up the braid for me to look at.

I smiled and nodded, “It’s beautiful Scar.” She smiled then hopped off my lap and went into the living room to play with her toys that she got for her birthday last week.

I looked up at the clock and it was 7:34 I had to be at school in ten minutes. I walked over and grabbed an apple and a juice box from the fridge and then kissed my mom on the cheek and walked into the living room.

Skarlet looked up she hated this part of the morning where I couldn’t stay and play with her all day like I do during the summer.

She got up from her toys and walked over to me holding onto the couch, I knelt down and she hugged me.

“I’ll be home soon, be good for grandma ok?” I said rubbing her back and she just nodded.

I kissed her forehead and she backed up and walked me to the door, I turned around and waved goodbye to her once I was down the drive way and near my car.

She waved her little hand and shut the door after I turned my car on and drove away from the house; I looked at the picture sitting on my mirror of me and Skarlet when she was just born. She looked so much like him it was scary sometimes but I wouldn’t turn her away even if it meant a pain in my chest every time I looked at her.

I drove up to the school and parked in the parking spot that was still open, I grabbed my bag that was in the car since I left it there last night and never grabbed it. I locked my doors and walked towards the school that was just a waste of time to be at. When I walked into the hallway I saw Tori my old best friend with her little group that used to be my little group. This school used to gravel at my feet and I used to be the most popular person in the whole city; and now, well now I’m a 18 year old mother who was raped and beaten. Everyone knew the story of how I went from Queen Bee to Mother Bee. Let me explain my story.....

zoheusher20: What more can I say? The writing style and little details drew me into the book and for the entirety of the story I was Juliet. Norah: I seriously loved this story so much. I think it only took me two days... I wanted to yell at all the characters at least once. The build up was amazing too! I also was really surprised at the ending with the cliffhanger. Much luck!

William Elliott Kern: Long story, the plot uncovered midway through the story. From beginning, the story was fast moving. Then dragged on for quite some time. The Author was good in describing her characters, their clothing, etc. but a lot of that disclosure distracted from the story moving fast. Not withstanding, the...

Nanasha: I thought I'd written a comment on this story, but for some reason, I guess it didn't go through. Anyway, so this story is intensely addictive. I liked how the author uses established mythology but then gives it a unique twist. The idea of goblins all coming from the head of the king is an ama...

Ro-Ange Olson: This is such a different romance story. I loved it. The book was very long and could be split into 2-3 books in my opinion, but I'd hate to have to wait to read the next part too.
