Chapter Twenty Eight
"Hi, Ray. Thanks for bringing this little one." Trina chuckled, ruffling up my hair, making me pout in response. She placed an arm around her girlfriend's shoulder and introduced her to him, "This is my girlfriend, Mia and Simon, my roommate is getting us our drinks."
"Nice to meet you all," He smiled at them politely, wrapping his arm around my waist in a protective manner.
"Don't worry about, Simon. He is cool about the whole thing. Let's just have fun," She yelled on top of the music so that we could hear and I nodded, giving her a small smile.
"You okay?" Ray asked, looking down at me and I smiled, giving him a quick nod. He pressed his lips to the top of my head and tightened his grip around my waist, making me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
"How often do you go to places like this?" I blurted out before thinking and he seemed to hesitate before answering.
"Ummm... quite often but it was all before. I don't go now-a-days," he added, giving me an assuring smile but deep down it stinged to know that he was a player once. Most of the girls in this club were the type that he has brought home earlier and he must have had the best experience with some of them.
How can I ever beat that?
What if he doesn't enjoy it?
Or worse, what if he finds me boring and goes back to his whoring ways?
"Are you sure you're okay? You look pale, baby." He asked, concern lacing his tone.
"I'm fine. The music is just too loud." I yelled and he nodded his head in understanding.
"Come on, let get you something to drink." I waved my hand at Trina before disappearing through the crowd with Ray and we went to the bar counter.
He ordered a beer for himself and a vodka lime and soda for myself.
"Are you not going to drink?" I asked, eyeing his beer.
"Who will drive us home if I get drunk too?"
"Fair point," I smiled, taking a sip of my drink which burned down my throat.
"Ridhi!" I heard Trina shouting my name and I looked over to find her with a drink for me in her hand.
"Save my drink. I'll be right back," I kissed his cheeks and got down from the stool to meet her.
Once I went closer towards her, she handed me a shot glass which had some kind of liquid in pink color. Simon was nowhere to be seen which was a good thing. I took the shot from her hand and we gulped it down in one sip. Tears sprang to my eyes as the liquid burned down my throat.
"Wow, that's so strong."
"I know right. So good." She laughed while Mia gave me an apologetic smile.
"She goes nuts when we come out for drinks. Want to join us?" she asked, pointing towards the dance floor and I turned around to find Ray surrounded by a couple of young girls.
"Umm...I'll get Ray and join you guys in a bit." I stated and walked back towards our seat angrily.
God, I left his side only for a fucking minute.
As I kept walking closer, he caught my eye, giving me a huge smile, relief evident in his eyes.
"Sorry ladies but I should ask my girlfriend first," he shrugged causally and stood up from his seat to come and stand by my side.
Did he say that to get rid of the girls or did he actually mean it?
"What was that about?" I asked with an annoyed look on my face and he gave me an amusing smile.
"They wanted to have a threesome with me."
"Yeah sure," I scoffed, not believing him at all but he looked at me with a straight face, raising his brow and I swallowed hard.
"Are you being serious?"
"It's not that surprising to be honest, babe but wait a minute, were you jealous?" he asked with a playful glint in his eyes and I grabbed my drink from the bar counter and emptied it's contents in one big sip.
"Yeah whatever. Glad I could save you from them, boyfriend." I emphasized on the last word, rolling my eyes at him. I was feeling a bit tipsy as the alcohol started to kick in.
"Woah, what is that supposed to mean?
"Fine, Ray. I admit it. I was jealous of those girls who were totally your type. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't have been fooled. I mean, look at me." I scoffed, feeling horrible for my insecurities.
This is bad.
"What are you talking about? You are totally my type and I didn't tell them you were my girlfriend to get rid of them. You are my girlfriend, Ridhi." He stated in a serious tone, looking straight into my eyes and I blinked a few times as his words sunk in.
"Aren't you supposed to ask me first?" I mumbled, looking down at my hands and he pulled me closer by waist, pushing a strand of my hair away from my face.
"I thought I already established it on diwali. My bad." He chuckled, grazing his fingers against my cheeks softly, "Alright then, will you be my girlfriend, Ridhi D'Souza?" he asked, smiling down at me and as much as my heart melted at his sweet gesture, I felt bad for feeling jealous and insecure.
"Yeah, I'll think about--" He cut me off by smashing his lips against mine.
Ray's signature move!
I kissed him back, smiling against his lips as he continued to kiss me deeper and just like that, nothing else mattered in that moment and I could feel the sound of the music drowning at the back of my mind and it was like only we were present in that moment.
I should probably blame the alcohol.
"There's no choice, baby. You are freaking mine." He whispered, pulling back a little and I swallowed hard, my heart beating faster than usual.
Fuck, he smelled so good.
Like applewood, musky and dewy.
So fucking hot.
"Why me?" I asked, the question that has been haunting me since the moment we had our first kiss.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not the type of girl you usually hook up with but for some weird reason you seem to be attracted to me and you like me too. So why..why me?" I asked, feeling a bit brave after having those two glasses of alcohol.
"Because nobody makes me smile like you do," he replied without missing a beat and just like that I fell in love with him all over again if that was even possible.
"Really?" I asked, a blush creeping on my cheeks and he shook his head with a small smile.
"You have no idea how I feel about you. You make me go crazy, woman. In a good way," he smiled, showing those adorable dimples and I tried so hard to blink back the tears.
"Crap, I told you alcohol makes go crazy. I'm so sorry." I tried to wipe the tears that slipped through my eyes and he just hugged me tightly, his warm embrace soothing me instantly.
"You have no reason to be jealous or insecure. I've had my eyes only for you since the day we met." He assured me and I believed him with all my heart.
"I ruined the mood. Come on, let's get to the dance floor," I tried to pull his hand but he stopped me.
"No! No way. I suck at dancing." He stood on his feet stubbornly not moving even an inch.
"Come on, it will be fun."
"Please, baby. Why don't you join Trina? I'll get you another drink." He almost pleaded with his eyes and I shook my head with a small smile.
Ray Anderson doesn't know to dance.
"Fine. Don't feel bad if you find me dancing with some other guy," I teased him and started walking towards the dance floor, his laughter echoing behind me.
After a couple of dances with Trina, I was feeling thirsty and exhausted. I looked over at the place where Ray was sitting and noticed that he was talking with some guy. I couldn't see the other guy's face as his back was facing towards me.
I kept waiting for that person to leave and my eyes went wide in shock when the person turned around to leave.
Why would Simon be talking to Ray?
It must be about what happened in the apartment earlier that day.
I was about to walk towards Ray and confront him but Trina pulled my hand from behind.
"Babe, can you go with Mia to the restroom? I can't see Simon anywhere so I'm going to get us the next round of drinks." She explained in a hurry and I looked over at Mia.
"Umm...yeah sure. Come on, Mia." I stretched out my hand for her and we brushed through the crowd to find the restroom.
"I'll wait here, okay." I stood near the entrance once we stopped the restroom and she nodded before rushing inside.
I ran my eyes through the crowd observing the people, my eye going wide in shock at how wild and inappropriate some people were dancing.
Jeez! Get a room people.
"Enjoying the evening?" I heard a familiar deep voice beside me and turned to my side to find Simon, leaning against the wall with a bored look on his face.
I was speechless and had no idea what to say to him. The last time he visited me in the apartment, I hurt him so badly.
I should probably apologize.
"Listen, Simon. I'm really sorry about what happened that day--"
"Save it, Ridhi. I can't believe what the hell you see in that asshole?" he spat out angrily and I was startled by his rude tone.
"He is not usually like that, Simon. You don't understand."
"No, you don't get it. He is just like his dad. It's not long before he screws you over and finds another girl."
"What are you talking about? Why are you even bringing his dad?" I asked with a confused look on my face. He was making no sense at all.
"This is interesting." He let out a small chuckle and came closer towards me. I took a step back, my body hitting the wall behind me.
"He didn't tell you, did he?" he asked with a smirk and I didn't know if it was the alcohol or the loud music. My head was starting to spin and I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.
"I can make you feel better than him, Ridhi. You liked me first, remember?" he started to pull me closer and I tried to push him away. He reeked of alcohol and I wanted nothing but to escape from him strong grip.
This is not good at all.
"Get your hand off me, Simon. What the hell are you doing?"
"Why? You don't want my cock buried in your pussy, huh?" he asked and I scrunched my face in disgust at his horrible words.
What the hell was wrong with him?
He is not this kind of a person.
"You are disgusting. Leave me, Simon." I tried to step away from him but he held me in pace, gripping my wrist tightly. Tears started streaming down my cheeks and before I could blink, I felt his grip loosening on my wrist.
"Get your filthy hands off her, you fucking bastard."
