You’re My Dream (Book 1)

Weeks have passed, and we are finally moving into our new house. I am so glad that we decided to buy a huge house. It has six bedrooms, four bathrooms, two offices, an entertainment room, a pool, and a massive backyard for the kids to play. We decided to move out of the city so we can have a lot of space. It is a bit of a drive to get to the city, but we are keeping my apartment just in case we need to stay in the city while Ric works.

I have been taking a lot of time off because of my pregnancy. I have been really stressed lately, and the doctor is worried, and so is Ric. I have been receiving a lot of threatening messages. I've changed my number twice already, but it's not helping. I'm almost at my wit's end. I'm so worried that someone is going to try to hurt the twins or me.

We both know that it's fuckin Rebecca who is making the threats, but we can't prove it. She has been covering her tracks pretty well, or whoever she is paying is very good. Ric has been working with his lawyer to try to fight her on the child support case. The results came back that he was the father, but he is trying to fight it because he knows that it's his twin brother's baby. He has to pay a lot of money for the correct test, but he is willing. He would rather pay every cent he has than to let her win.

His brother has also been trying to get money from him. He is basically trying to blackmail him into paying him, and he will make her drop the suit and take responsibility for his kid. Ric is furious. He and his lawyer are trying to do everything they can to get this whole mess sorted out. He's stressed, and I'm stressed.

Hannah has become my nanny as well. Ric is paying her extra to be with the twins and me whenever he isn't around because he doesn't want me to be left alone. It irritates me a bit because I can be on my own, but he doesn't want anything to happen to the babies or me.

I am packing up the things we really need from the kitchen when I hear the front door open. I furrow my brows. That's weird. Ric is at the studio, and Hannah is at the new house with the twins.

"Ric?" I shout out. There's nothing but silence.

I stand up and walk out of the kitchen, and head to the front door. Maybe I heard things.

As I round the corner, someone grabs me and puts their hand over my mouth to silence my scream. My heart rate shoots up. I struggle to get away from them, but this person is powerful. I don't want to fight because I don't want to hurt the babies.

"Stop struggling, or I'll kill you right now." The voice is low and rough. I am breathing so hard. His hand presses harder on my mouth, and I whimper.

"Are you gonna fight me?"He growls out.

I shake my head. I don't want to take a chance that he will hurt my babies. He starts to pull me towards the door. I look around quickly to see if I can grab anything to hit him with and run, but we moved almost everything out already.

We stop just before we get to the door, and I can feel his breath on my neck. I can tell he is trying to get something from his pocket. I need to get away from him. Once I'm outside, I can run somewhere and get help.

Just as I'm about to elbow him and run, I feel something sharp pierce my neck. I wince.

"Don't worry. This won't hurt the babies." He whispers.

I try to struggle more, but my body starts to feel heavy. I want to run away, but I can't fight back. I feel my eyes start to close, and I am surrounded by darkness.

My eyes open, and I try to sit up, but I'm so groggy. I lie here for a minute with my eyes closed so I can get my barrings. I listen to what's around me, and I hear nothing. It's too quiet. I sit up, and I groan. My head hurts, and my neck is sore from the needle. I open my eyes and look around. I'm in a small room. I am lying on a bed that has blue sheets. I am still wearing the same clothes, but my shoes are off. There is a dresser, but it doesn't have anything on it. There are two doors. One must be the exit, and the other is either the bathroom or the closet. I hope it's the bathroom because my bladder is going to explode.

I turn and move my legs to the side of the bed so I can stand up. I still feel very weak from whatever drug I was injected with. I stand up and wobble a little. I feel dizzy, and I need to vomit.

I stand up and start to head to one of the doors, but before I can pull it open, it swings open. I have to jump back, so I don't get hit with it.

"Oh, good. You're awake. About time." The man sneers. His voice is gravely, and it's dripping with disgust.

"Why am I here? Who are you?" I try not to let my voice shake. I don't want to let him know that I am terrified. I hold my hands together so he doesn't see the shaking.

"You'll know soon enough." He spits out.

I stand there staring right at him. I can only see his eyes because he is wearing a mask that is covering his whole face. I look at him, trying to memorize everything I can about his eyes and the skin surrounding them. His skin is pale white, and he has dull golden eyes.

The more I stare at them, the more I recognize them. My eyes widen slightly. I try not to let him see that I know who he is.

He chuckles. "I can see that you recognize who I am. No need for this damn mask then." He rips the mask off, and I stare at him in disbelief. He is the replica of Ric. The only difference is, his eyes are very dull, and he isn't muscular at all. He also doesn't have tattoos on his arms as Ric does.

"You're smart, and mmm. So pretty. She lied." He licks his lips, and I see the lust in his eyes. I feel the bile in my throat. If I throw up, I'm going to aim it at him.

"I can see why my brother keeps you around." He is looking at me like I'm prey. I want to scream at him and slap him. His gaze makes me feel nothing but disgust.

He looks at his watch like he's waiting for something. I take a few steps back. I don't want to be anywhere near him. He pulls his phone out of his pocket. I hear his curse under his breath.

He points towards the other door, "That's the bathroom. There's nothing in there, so you can't try anything stupid." He looks me up and down again and licks his lips. He doesn't say anything else. He turns and walks out the door.

I walk to the door, but I hear the door lock click. He locked me in here. I try the handle to confirm that it's locked. I am stuck here at his and whoever else's mercy.
