Chp. 43: "Oh my lord..."

Present Time...

Tiffany’s POV:

“So...you street fight?”

“Did.”

“But that dude that whooping your ass in the parking lot...that all started...because of street fighting...right?”

“Yeah. I didn’t fight him, so...then Jackson got him involved in this mess with Tiffany and me because he’s a wuss...”

Daniel narrows his eyes at Travis, dumbfounded, and Travis just stares back, a blank expression on his face. They continue to stare at one another, and Daniel opens his mouth to say something but only air is let out.

He shakes his head before whipping around to face me. He glances at Travis, brows furrowed with suspicion before asking me, “Did you...know about this?”

“Yeah,” I reply, nodding slowly, and Daniel gasps, eyes widening. I raise a brow at Daniel’s concerned face, “What’s...what’s with...” I gesture to his face with my hand, “this, uh, face you’re making here?”

“HE’S DATING MY SISTER!!” Daniel exclaims, throwing his hands out in frustration at Travis, “MY SISTER!!! YOU!! HE’S DATING YOU!!! DO YOU NOT SEE THE PROBLEM?!!!”

“I don’t street fight now, I quit. Weeks ago, I quit, but the bastards didn’t like that very much...” Travis explains in a matter-of-fact tone, rolling his eyes at that thought, “And if you’re trying to imply that this is my fault, then you’re sadly mistaken. If anything, this was all Jackson’s fault. He’s psychotic.”

“I’m not saying this is your fault, Travis,” Daniel states, turning around to face him, “It’s obvious Mr. Beach Waves was behind this. I’m just saying, why am I the last to know about this?”

“Because you’re you?” Luka says, questionably. Daniel whips around to face him, glaring, “That was a rhetorical question!?”

“Oh....”

“And you!” Daniel shouts, pushing his pointer finger into Travis’s chest, “I gave you my blessing to date my sister! But you didn’t tell me you worked with gang members and shit!!”

“Used to...” Travis shrugs, nonchalantly, “But I don’t anymore.”

“But that’s beside the point!!!” Daniel retorts, “I’m supposed to know these things before deciding if you’re eligible to date my sister!!”

“Daniel, you say these things like you’re supposed to know Travis’s criminal record,” I state, facepalming.

“HE MESSED WITH GANG MEMBERS AND SHIT!!! THOSE ARE CRIMINALS AND THAT CAN BE PRESSED A CRIMINAL OFFENSE!!!!!”

“Those are things of the past...” Travis mumbles, awkwardly, “I’m a-”

“Don’t.” Daniel interrupts, raising his hand to Travis’s face, “Don’t you dare say it.”

Travis smirks, mischievously, “Say what?”

“You know what....” Daniel replies, giving him a stank look while crossing his arms. I look between them, feeling genuinely confused, and Luka does the same.

A few seconds pass, and Travis whispers smugly, “I’m a changed man.” Daniel’s frown deepens, and Travis’s grin widens.

“I hate you....” Daniel whispers, coldly. “Aw! I love you more!” Travis replies, bringing his hands to his chest.

“PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!!!”

We all jump and whip around to find police officers standing in front of us. They point their flashlights at us, the woman in front aiming her gun at us.

We all raise our hands in the air, I feeling tensed.

I’m nervous...

“Well, shit...” Travis grumbles, frowning. “Fuck...” Daniel mutters under his breath, annoyed, “I thought we lost them...”

“Same...” Luka whispers back, agreeing, “I thought we ran fast enough...”

Ran?

Did he say that they...

Ran?

“YOU RAN FROM THE COPS?!!!” I shout looking over my shoulder at him, dumbfounded.

He shrugs defensively and Luka smiles awkwardly at me, “I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!!!! TRAVIS HAD RAN OFF IN A FIT OF RAGE THEN THEY SHOWED UP WITH ALL OF THEIR FUCKING GUNS RAISED AND SHIT!!!!! IT WAS SCARY!!!!”

“Smart choice, Dan...” Travis mutters sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

“I THOUGHT YOU WEREN’T GOING TO CALL ME THAT ANYMORE!!!!” Daniel whines, frowning.

“THAT’S ENOUGH BICKERING!!!” The lady officer says, aggressively, we all shifting our gazes back to her and her squad. “YOU ALL ARE COMING WITH US!!!!” The lady officer states, glaring at us.

“LIKE HELL THEY ARE!!!”

We all look to our right and find Andrea and everyone walking our way from the bleachers, speedily. Dad looks at me and Daniel, concerned and confused, “What in the entire...”

Oh my lord...

“What the hell is going on?!” May shouts, now standing next to Travis, Daniel, Luka, and I as we simply stare in shock and warily.

“Whoa!! Thank God I’m not high right now, I would’ve shitted myself just now seeing all of these cops...” Oscar says, rather loudly as he stands next to Travis.

“I know you would’ve, babe,” Sam agrees, shaking her head, “I know...”

“Holy-wow! Police officers with guns!” Jamie says, stuffing his hands into his sweater pockets. He looks down at Jackson’s body and his eyes widen, “And a body! How fun!!”

“Travis is always doing the fun shit without me...” Joshua whines, standing next to Stormy as she just stares in awe at Jackson’s body.

I gulp, and Travis tenses up. “Fuuuuuuckkkk...” He groans, brow furrowing with concern.

“What is the meaning of this?!” Andrea questions, stepping in between us and the police, “What do you think you’re doing pointing guns at children?! I ought to call your department and tell them what’s going on!!?”

“Ma’am, we’re not trying to harm these kids in any shape or form,” The female officer states, lowering her gun. She digs into her pocket, and pulls out her badge, “My name is Becky Lawrence, and I’m the commander chief and police. We received a call saying there was a serious fight going on in the school parking lot and weapons were involved, so we rushed over.”

“Well,” Richard jumps in, pulling out his badge, “I’m Richard Hampton. Also, a member of the police and would gladly try to help understand our current situation.”

“So, you’re telling me that Jackson,” Officer Lawrence says, writing down some things in her book, “Is behind all of this?”

“Yes,” I reply, nodding vigorously, “This is all Jackson’s doing. He...he formed some sick plan and...tried to execute it but it didn’t go as plan thanks to the bat Travis had.”

I take a deep breath, recalling what Jackson tried to do to me. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if he had gotten me to come with him.

Alone...

Chills shoot down my spine at that thought, I trying to shake the memory from my mind, “He apparently got motorcycle gang members to help him out with his plan. And I’m not sure if I had said this already, but he reeked of alcohol. He was definitely acting out under the influence...”

Shortly after the police officers arrived, we were immediately sent to the police department for questioning.

Richard was able to get them to lighten up some, but the situation wasn’t to be taken lightly seeming the whole situation seemed like someone was killed.

As of currently, I’m telling the Officer Lawrence everything I know.

Minus the part where Travis is a street fighter.

Well, WAS a street fighter.

It’s just a small detail, I’m sure it wouldn’t make much difference, right?

“I see...” Officer Lawrence mumbles, thoughtfully, tapping her pen on the table. She sighs, shaking her black, wavy hair from her face, “Well, it seems to me that the story is accurate since Travis, Daniel, and Luka all basically said the same thing. However, I don’t think his parents would be too happy to hear that their son will be facing a few charges...”

I nod, relieved to know that Jackson is going to get what he deserves after the shit he tried to pull tonight.

Hopefully, I’ll never have to see him again...

“Alright,” Officer Lawrence says, standing up. I stand up too, my chair scraping against the floor. “That about settles everything. Thank you.”

We walk out of the room and make our way down a hall. Eventually, we arrive in the lobby area where everyone’s sitting, patiently.

Well...minus my dad and Andrea...

Andrea jumps up, and so does Dad, “Well? Do we need a lawyer? Just say the word, and I’ll-”

“No, ma’am,” The Officer interrupts, raising her hand, “We don’t need a lawyer unless you’d like to press charges.”

“Press charges?” Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey say, standing up from their seats.

“Pressing charges won’t be necessary!!” Mrs. Ramsey says, defensively, her short, blond hair pulled back into a ponytail, “I doubt my son is capable of such acts!! He’s a talented young man with a bright future! Don’t you see what pressing charges would do to his reputation?”

“Ma’am, the proof is in the pudding. They could either press charges or completely discard it and allow the law to oversee the situation.” The Officer explains, crossing her arms.

“Pressing charges would be petty!!!” Mrs. Ramsey says, looking over at Andrea. She looks back at the officer, gripping her Gucci bag, “Plus, my boy hasn’t admitted to such crimes!!! Doesn’t he have to admit to these acts before being taken to court?”

“STOP MANHANDLING ME!!!!”

We all look to our right down the hall where I came from the interrogation room. Jackson walks down the hall, struggling to get free from handcuffs the police officers hand put on him I’m assuming, “OW!!!!”

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!!!” Mr. Ramsey shouts, trying to walk upon the police officers, but his wife holds him back.

“Your son just confessed that he did everything Luka, Daniel, Travis, and Tiffany had described to us.” The Policemen states, holding Jackson by his arm, “And he claimed to not feel bad about anything.”

“I DON’T!!! FUCK THEM!!!!” Jackson yells, trying to shake the man off, “I DON’T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT HOW WRONG I SUPPOSEDLY AM!!!”

“Jackson...” Mrs. Ramsey mumbles, shocked and heartbroken, “You...you don’t mean that...”

“I’m afraid so, Mrs. Ramsey,” The Policemen says, looking at Jackson, concerned, “It might just be the alcohol talking, but it doesn’t change the fact that he did commit those acts against Tiffany and her friends.”

“So, what? You’ll be sending my boy off to jail?” Mrs. Ramsey asks, voice sounding soft.

“Since he’s 18, he can be tried as an adult with charges being Gang Affiliation and Vandalism.”

“Vandalism?” Mr. Ramsey says, confused, his blue eyes staring into the policemen’s, “Gang Affiliation?”

“My car...” Travis chimes in, he now wearing a t-shirt the officers had given him, “He vandalized my car...”

“Plus, he got members of a motorcycle gang to join in on his little scheme.” Officer Lawrence says, putting her hands on her hips, “After chitchatting with them, Jackson promised to pay them if they had joined in on his plan.”

“No...” Mrs. Ramsey cries, voice going quiet. Mr. Ramsey comforts her as she begins to sob.

“YOU SNITCHIN’ ASSHOLE!!” Jackson spits at Travis as Travis comes and stands next to me, “I FUCKING HATE YOU!!!”

“Me too...” Travis states, calmly, brows furrowing with concern, “But I’m pretty sure we knew that about each other already...”

“This whole situation....” Andrea says, sitting down on the arm of the couch. Sam rubs her back as she says, deep in thought, “How did any of this happen?”

“Psychos,” Travis states bluntly, “They’re everywhere...”

“WHEN I GET OUT OF THESE CUFFS, TRAVIS!!!” Jackson roars, face reddening, “I’M GOING MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL!!!! AND THAT’S A PROMISE!!!!”

“I’m just going to take him away, now...” The Policemen holding Jackson in place says, pulling Jackson back down the hall.

“Yeah, that’s probably for the best...” Officer Lawrence sighs, tiredly. “I NEVER LIKED ANY OF YOU!!! KISS MY ASS!!!” Jackson shouts, his voice echoing from down the hall, “SEE YOU ALL YOU HELL!!!!”

I sigh, watching, “Welp...that went swimmingly...”

“Definitely...” Travis mumbles, arms crossed. “Now that that’s been settled,” Stormy chimes in, slinging her arms around my and Travis’s shoulders, “What happened?!”

“Or!!!” Daniel says, patting Stormy’s shoulder, “Better question, who filed a complaint???”

“A young woman by the name of Jennifer Red. She said she and her friends were leaving to game to head to a party when they saw the fighting taking place.” Officer Lawrence explains.
