Chapter 18

“Come on, angel. Let’s get you in a hot bath. Your muscles will thank you for it.” I got up and took her hand, leading her into the massive bathroom. There was a large shower and a clawfoot porcelain tub set in the corner. I grabbed a couple of fluffy towels and set them on the antique vanity while turning on the water. I turned to look at her as I waited for the tub to fill. She was magnificent in my eyes. Catching me staring, she raised her arms to cover her breasts.

“What?” she whispered. I smiled and moved her arms back down so I could look at her some more. My eyes traveled lazily over her naked body in appreciation.

“You are a goddess, you know that?” Her hair spilled wildly around her shoulders caressing her bare breasts, her porcelain skin flushed pink with the after effects of our lovemaking. Her red lips swollen from my kisses beckoned to me and I wanted to lose myself in the depths of her green eyes. “Amber, I’ve never seen anything so beautiful, so perfect before in my life. I could spend the rest of my life just looking at you.” She blushed red at my words, smiling shyly at me as I turned off the water. Taking her hand I helped her into the tub before sliding in behind her.

“Oh my this is heaven,” she sighed. I chuckled, kissing her bare shoulder.

“No baby being with you is heaven,” I said, wrapping my arms around her and snuggling her against me. “I love you, my little fire haired fairy.”

“I love you too, honey.” We held each other, letting the hot water soothe sore muscles and just enjoying the feel of one another. There was no conversation because words weren’t needed right now. We basked in the presence of each other’s company, soaking up the heat of the water and the warmth of our feelings for each other.

Caressing her arms, I kissed her temple. “So how do you feel about what happened?”

“Amazing. I had no idea sex could feel like that. Thank you for being my first. All my girlfriends have said their first time was awful but you made mine incredible.” She kissed my jaw and tugged my arms tighter around her.

“I want to be your last, Amber,” I said, my voice dropping to a husky murmur. She gasped and pulled away so she could look at my face. The intense look in my eyes and the tender expression on my face told her all she needed to hear. Swiftly she turned to face me, straddling my hips.

“I want that too,” she squeaked out, tears rolling down her cheeks. “I think I just fell a little more in love with you, mon coeur.” She wrapped her trembling arms around my neck, hugging me tightly as if I was about to disappear.

“That’s it. I’m taking French.” She laughed into my neck as I held her. “Time to get out, angel. Don’t want that beautiful body to get cold.”

We got out of the tub. I dried her off, taking long languid strokes on her skin as she watched me with a sweet smile across her lips. When I stood, she took my face in her hands and kissed me. “Is it bad that I don’t wanna go home?”

“No, it’s not bad. I don’t want you to go home either. But I don’t want your mom showing up at my door with a loaded shotgun.” She giggled, scrunching her button nose. “Can you stay for dinner?” She nodded while she got dressed.

“Yeah we better spend as much time together as we can today. Tomorrow is Competition Crunch Time.” Pulling my jeans back over my long legs, I grinned at her.

“Pfft like you need practice. Your voice was handcrafted by the angels, beautiful. I get it though. I’ve got some stuff to do for college enrollment this week myself.” Just as we were about to kiss again, Amber’s phone rang. Pulling it from her back pocket, it was an unidentified caller.

“Hello?” she answered hesitantly, putting the call on speaker. She didn’t recognize the number but answered anyway. I came to stand behind her, tugging her against me.

“Amber? Hi this is Lucy DeAngelo with Olympus Records. I hope you don’t mind me calling, cutie. I got your number from my nephew, Roman.” Amber’s eyes went wide as dinner plates.

“Uh hi Mrs. DeAngelo,” she said. “I don’t mind. I trust Roman wouldn’t give my number to a crazy person.” Lucy laughed heartily.

“Oh I’m crazy, honey, crazy as a loon but it’s a good kind of crazy. And please call me Lucy. Mrs. DeAngelo was my mother,” she giggled. Amber giggled back, nerves making her a little edgy. “Hey listen angel face, can you come down to the studio today? My brother is here and we’d like to get you on a recording as soon as possible. I know you’ve got the big competition coming up this week but he won’t be back in town for another couple weeks. With your golden pipes, girlie, I don’t want him to miss out on a live performance.” Amber gulped.

“Um sure?” she answered. She looked back at me to see me grinning like a maniac.

“Yes, Lucy she’ll be there in an hour. Is that good?”

“Brock is that you, you sly little fox?”

“The one and only,” I chuckled. “This beautiful siren is my girlfriend.”

“Aw,” Lucy cooed. “Well get your adorable butts down here! I’ll see you soon!” I grinned wide and picked her up, swinging her around while she giggled.

“Let’s go make you a star, baby!” I gave her a big sloppy kiss. She called her mom and I texted the gang to tell them the good news. They were all going to meet us down at the studio. God I was so proud of this incredible woman. Her dream was to sing and I had a feeling Lucy was going to make that dream come true. I was just the lucky bastard who got to see her soar.
